I really don't have a lot of wishes this year. It's been a good one for me.

I'd like Mom and Dad to visit more often.

I'd like to find the perfect gift for Kalypso. She deserves something wonderful.

And to pass my classes this semester. You know I suck when it comes to things that aren't art related. Otherwise, I have everything I want.

Character Name: John (Jack) Mikalos Murdock

Physical description: 6'0, 180lbs, brunette, brown eyes, pale skin. He is in superb condition thanks to both his parents, with the normal strength of a young man who engages in daily training.

Age: 20

PB: Kristopher Turner

Abilities: Enhanced senses and reflexes, almost to the level his father enjoys. Accomplished gymnast, but not Olympic rated. Proficient in several forms of martial arts, including ninjutsu. Not too shabby with the sai, either.

Weaknesses and flaws: He began ingesting tiny amounts of marijuana as an experiment to blunt his senses, or make what he does sense less of a strain. Sometimes it works, enough that he continues the practice. He hasn't progressed to smoking as it would send up a signal to Dad. Dad's silent disapproval hurts more and lingers a great deal longer. Mom understands and has helped him find a source for Green Dragon.

Character location/Home: San Francisco transplant to New York/Street level

Alignment: Leans toward the family legacy, but not quite so Choir Boy about it. Mom taught him the difference between legal and justice. Sometimes it puts him on the side of the villains.

Relatives: Matthew Murdock (father), Elektra Natchios (mother)

Backstory:

After the final breakup between Natasha Romanov and Matt Murdock, Matt reconnected with another old flame, Elektra Natchios. Like many of the superhero community at this time, Elektra became pregnant. She and Matt discussed their options and decided to make a fresh start with the baby somewhere other than New York.

Elsewhere turned out to be San Francisco.

Matt accepted an offer to join a small law firm that specialized in discrimination cases. Elektra gave up her mercenary work and settled down to take on the client of a lifetime, her son. She opened a small training center and began teaching ninjutsu and other forms of martial arts. This allowed her to keep Jack with her at all times.

When Jack entered his teens, Matt began taking on high profiled discrimination cases around the country. He and Mom began traveling more with Dad while he was working because he'd often be somewhere for several months at a time up to a year in one notable case. It was enough that they switched to home schooling for Jack.

His abilities became noticeable around the age of eight, and hit overdrive at the onset of puberty. The first few years were hellish for the young man who couldn't stop from tasting the salt in the air or hear the heartbeats of every person on the Muni when he rode around the city. Elektra got him an isolation float tank to restrict and eliminate sensory input for the times it would get to be too much for the teenager to handle.

When he turned eighteen, he settled back down at the family home in San Francisco and enrolled in the local community college to get his general education out of the way. He has a talent for design and drafting, but hasn't committed to that particular course of study. Dad does occasionally nudge him toward law school with the dream of having a father-son partnership.

Matt hasn't avoided New York and the old life, but he hasn't actively accepted cases there either. When he was presented with a case too ground breaking to pass up, Jack went with Dad to finally see the place he's heard so much about in bedtimes stories while Mom stayed in San Francisco. It was a good opportunity to tour other colleges in hopes of transferring at the spring semester or the following fall term.

Jack is currently enrolled in the New York Institute of Design and has developed a relationship with Kalypso Sersi, a young woman who literally tripped over him in front of the New York Public Library. Thanks to Kalypso, he has had a taste of the hero life and finds it not too unsettling to think he might follow in his father's footsteps.
