Who says Valentines Day is all bad, never had their 5th period Civics class bake them

Of course, the card attached did say; "You're too cool not to have a boyfriend Miss.L. Get on that."
I think that's a challenge if I ever heard one. It's sweet though isn't it?

Full Name: Jayani 'Jaya' Chandra Lahiri (profile)
Age: 27
Occupation: High school teacher (History, Art, Religion)
Status: Single
Affiliation: Neutral
Power: X-ray vision
Favorite Color: Yellow
Preferred Type of Toothpaste: Crest whitening expressions vanilla

Family:
Jahan Lahiri - father,
Nisha Lahiria - mother
Nick Lahiri- younger brother

Brief History: Jaya grew up excelling at everything, from sports to academics. Her stigma of being so damned perfect was annoying to others, even though Jaya herself never even considered that she was overachieving, she just liked going for things, so she did. That attitude had her attending Yale in History with a minor in fine arts. For as long as she could remember she'd wanted to be a teacher, so a teacher she would be. She graduated at the top of her class, and to most people's disbelief became the high school teacher she wanted to be, instead of using her degree to became a senator, or businessperson that so many of her classmates were. She returned to Carolina, happy and content with sharing her knowledge, and excelled even there. Coach for the women's soccer, volleyball, and track team, she was also responsible for coming up with a new club program that was adopted by many other schools and earned her more recognition.

She has only recently discovered her ability, x-ray vision, and initially had thought she had gone crazy. She has yet to tell anyone about it, as while she's friendly and great with anything goal-oriented, Jaya isn't so great with relationships outside of friendship. She's been suspecting her brother for quite some time, and has witnessed a few oddities since the chemical spill so she knows something is up.

Any changes that have been made to your character: New!

Brief Description of Power Capabilities: Ability to see through solid objects. Her x-ray vision hasn't been well practiced as she's still confused as hell about it, but so far when she does use it she can see through solid objects, and even matter with multiple layers like skin. She does not have the ability to see through several layers that are much denser than a wall, so She can see through at least two rooms of a building, but she's not strong enough to see through the entire building. The range she has, hasn't been determined but it isn't too far reaching.

She has a natural aptitude for things, and is a very quick learner. It doesn't mean she's the best at the things she tries, but if she works hard enough, her ambitious nature will ensure that she is. She's not someone who is obsessed with accolades, it's actually just that she's very open and loves to try new things. She'll try anything once. And so she does everything, demands herself to succeed in it, and does. It comes with a competitive and driven nature, and Jaya expects nothing less of herself. If she fails at what she tries, its upsetting, but her motto is to get back on the horse and try again. She's a sweet girl usually, friendly and cheerful, but the second a challenge is presented to her she turns into a competitive, loud, fiery thing, that comes as a shock to most people. Even still, as a perfectionist with her drive, she's very hard on herself, and sometimes is oblivious to other things. It doesn't make her a very good listener if she's in her competitive mode, and sometimes she needs to be shaken and told that thing exist outside of goals. She'll always be known as the intelligent, successful, responsible elder Lahiri sibling, and unfortunately that casts a shadow over Nick. She doesn't realize it annoys him so much, because she's not doing it intentionally or maliciously.

Jaya is a very friendly and loyal person, but she's not so great at things that don't involve some goal being attained. She's a great friend, but not so great at relationships, as she's competitive, and very oblivious to how the other person is feeling. She's not deliberately inattentive, she just isn't a very empathetic person. She's always concerned about another person, but doesn't have the ability to understand how their feeling. People just need to remind her from time to time and she'll be as diligent as possible, almost overly so with her brother in most cases.

History
-Under construction
-Yale Suma Cum Laude History and Fine Arts, top of the class, valedictorian
-High School History/Arts/Religion teacher
-Coach of Women's track, soccer and volleyball team

Family: Jahan Lahiri - father,
Nisha Lahiria - mother
Nick Lahiri- younger brother

PB: Frieda Pinto

Layout cred.
