[Clara] I haven't thought much about mates from when we were in school, but I ran into Maddox Dodderidge today! And we actually had a really nice conversation! It's so strange to think that we've been out of school for so long now! He says hello, by the by!

Would you like to set up a play date for Marcus and Marietta this Saturday? I know they already see so much of each other during the week, but we hardly ever have the chance to be around each other![/Clara]

Things seem like they're much more calm around the center. Hopefully we'll be back in Hogsmeade by week's end! And if not, certainly by Monday. Thank you again for all of your patience regarding the matter.

Marietta has a new found obsession with broomsticks. This probably won't be any good for me, will it?

[Caterpillar Parents] For the next few days, until everything in Hogsmeade dies down, please bring your children to building 115 in Diagon Alley. I've spent a bit of my own money in order to rent this space to ensure the safety of your children as it is of the utmost important to myself and to my colleagues. No damage has been done to the actual childcare facility and I expect that at the start of next week, the village will have calmed down to a normal level.

We are doing everything we can in terms of aid to help with cleaning up the area and hope that you will continue to extend the privilege of caring for your children despite these recent events. [/Caterpillar Parents]

I have the largest headache known to man right now. <s>I hate leviosa parents so much right now--do you really think I'm going to starve your child even though you could take so much legal action against that that it would be stupid for me to do so--</s>

Clara, do you want to get together tomorrow for a play date? Marcus and Marietta obviously need more time around each other than they've recently had.

The babies are so cute. They really are my favorite class to be in. They're starting to babble and learn words and walk. Marietta threw her ball across the room and then started to cry when she realized she couldn't get to it afterwards, and then Liam wobbled over to it and brought it back to her. <s>Clara, I think Marcus has competition...</s>

[Clara] I think the Ministry wants me to come back and work. They've had a huge influx of work in the floo department and they're so bogged down. I think--I think there might've been a raise offered, too. I don't know. I don't know if I should take it because I'm so happy at the center, but Marissa's doing a wonderful job taking charge with things and the extra income could help.

What would you do? [/Clara]

We took a trip to Cornwall yesterday and had our first swimming trip. I don't think Marietta much liked playing in the water, but the sand was quite enjoyable! She had loads of fun digging and piling and throwing and eating sand. The last was quite discouraged but she did it anyways. Gran and Granddad insisted that it would not hurt her in the least and had quite the time playing with her. <s>No mention at all of Marcus, I think they're tottering between joy and anger over everything that happened but, can't be sure really.</s>

Marietta Lynnette Edgecombe, 8 months, 15 days

Marietta has informed me that she would like a play date with her favorite cousin in the world. I use the term cousin quite loosely, since her Auntie Clara isn't really her auntie, but is still considered as such.

I strongly support her need for a play date, as her mummy is in need of time with one of her closest friends.

[Tristan] I discussed this thoroughly with Marietta, and she agrees that our flat is much too quiet.
I do believe the Tornadoes are going to blow through the Falcons on Saturday. Completely bring them down and leave them in shambles. And I'm not just saying this because my husband is a Falcons fan. Sumpter's got umph behind his beater's bat, after all. And don't even get me started on Birch and Cleaver! But the big question should probably be...who has the best line up to make it to the finals? Tornadoes, Catapults...Magpies? Or, the stretch, Falcons??? Really, it could go any way.

Sports can be so unpredictable. Titles are based off of one measly game...almost seems unfair. And someone has to lose. I don't find it quite fair. Well, rather it's not a job I would take much pleasure in holding. You either do a fantastic job, or you fail. There's no in between when you get to the bottom line of it all. I like being in between...there's no pressure to be absolutely perfect when you work with the Floo system.

The healers say it's an ear infection.

[Clara (Tristan can read it, too...)] I ran out to get some medications for her and left her with Marcus because I figured that you know, he has to be able to take care of her because I'm going to be going back to work soon so he can't rely on me constantly, right?

Anyways, I came home maybe half an hour later and he's passed out and Marietta is crying her little lungs out. I suppose he had a long day at work or something, falling asleep like that. We just got finished with a spat. I thought I could trust him, though. [/Clara slash Tristan]

Bugger. Is anyone willing to babysit overnight? There's an emergency at the Ministry and <s>I don't trust Marcus right now</s> they couldn't get anyone else to come in that knows what to do.

I know it's short notice, but Marietta's very well natured and she's started sleeping through the night.

I know you're going to be completely upset and angry at me, but...I moved back in with Marcus. And, before you say anything about how stupid this seems...he's changed. He sent me an owl and he told me that he'd overreacted and that not having me and Marietta in his life was the worst thing that had ever happened. And we met for tea this afternoon and he was just so sincere. I think he turned a corner, Clara. He's not...bad...anymore. Really.

Enemies:
Significant Other: <strike>Marcus Edgecombe</strike>
Personality and History: Joceline is a very trusting, needy individual. She loved being domestic and taking care of her daughter and her house while she was with Marcus. She wants the best for her daughter and will do anything it takes to get that, even if it means letting someone else take watch of her while she's earning an income. Joceline had a very happy, healthy childhood without much event. When she was sorted into Hufflepuff, her parents weren't extremely pleased, but they made do with it (it had been a long family line of Gryffindors, so her "oddity" was a bit unexpected). And, as with many pureblooded families, after finishing school Joceline was placed in an arranged marriage to Marcus Edgecombe. It took a few months, but the façade that Marcus put up did not last long; he was a strong drinker and became mean after a few shots. She's taken much of this without complaint, simply because she didn't want to cause an uproar with her family but after an overreaction that resulted in him beating her, Joceline left and took their daughter with her.

Months later, it came out that Marcus Edgecombe was a death eater (though the actuality was that it was all a set up, a rouse if you will) and had killed. The news was terribly shocking to Joceline, especially the fact that she had willingly left her child in his care so many times. The inheritance money did come in handy, however, as it created the means for Joceline to acquire some property in the Hogsmeade area. She is now the owner and director of the Caterpillar Clubhouse, a preschool for wizarding children. And now that things have slowly settled down in the wizarding world, it seems like business has picked up. Things are slowly looking up for Miss Joceline Shimpling, something that she's deserved for some time now.
Likes:crups, the color blue, cider, peaches, Celestina Warbeck, the smell of vanilla, and reading.
Dislikes:snakes, the color orange, egg nog, ham, classical music, the smell of freshly cut grass, and having nothing to do.
Alignment: Neutral

spent her whole life being graded on the sanctity of patience

Hufflepuff Cancer: Hufflepuff Cancers are oriented first and foremost to the home and to all things domestic. The ultimate homebodies of the magical world, they are at their happiest when they are puttering in the kitchen, stirring up food in magical cauldrons or whipping up soothing, healing potions. These wizards desperately need to be needed. If cut off from family, a circle of close friends, or a flock of wounded birds to tend, they will get anxious and depressed, unless their energies are directed somehow to a cause or a person which finds them good use. They are caring and compassionate, and are excellent listeners.

but the story needs some mending and a better happy ending

PB: Jayma Mays
Player: Laura
Song: "Fairytale" by Sara Bareilles
Disclaimer: Not real. I do not own Harry Potter or any other copyrighted characters. I do not own Marietta Edgecombe, but the characterization of Joceline is of my own making. I'm also not Jayma Mays, although she is quite lovely and I love her acting.

cause i don't want the next best thing
