Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Nix Email: lifeinpolaroid@gmail.com AIM (if you have one): BlackInkedWords Character Name: Kay El Zod//Kayla Luthor Character LJ (if applicable): kneelbeforeme Physical description (face, build, weight): Kayla is 5'7", 135 pounds with blonde hair and brown eyes Age: 18 Birthday: July 4th Codename (if using one): Scion PB: (If using one.): Romola Garai Abilities: Kayla has standard Kryptonian abilities. Weaknesses and flaws: Like all Kryptonians, kryptonite does very bad things to Kayla. Kayla has an additional weakness to kryptonite: it impacts her mental faculties. Even in extremely small doses, her IQ level drops. Additional weaknesses include the standard weaknesses for Kryptonians. Below are the weaknesses Superman has as copy-pasted from Wikipedia: - Kryptonite: His most known weakness. Radioactive fragments of the planet Krypton created by fusion during the explosion that destroyed it. Superman's cells store electromagnetic radiation (such as sunlight) and convert it into energy, manifesting as his super-powers. When Superman is exposed to kryptonite (within roughly ten feet or less of any size or amount), its high-band radiation rapidly interferes with this process, causing severe physical pain and the loss of his powers, though lead can be used to block it out.
- Red Sun Radiation: Natural in Krypton's planetary system, red solar radiation replaces the higher-yield yellow solar energy in Superman's cells, robbing him of the fuel for his powers. This process does not have the painful, crippling and fever-like symptoms of Kryptonite, and essentially leaves him with the normal health and abilities of a human in his size and shape, as it did for the entire population of Krypton during its existence. Exposure to Yellow Sunlight causes his powers to return. Other than Red solar radiation, using up his yellow solar energy before having a chance to recharge also causes Superman to lose his powers.[3]
- Magic: While not so much an actual weakness, Superman's invulnerability offers no protection against magic. As a result, spells cast on Superman affect him the same as it would anyone else. This sometimes goes so far as enchanted weapons being able to subvert his invulnerability as well.
Character location/Home: Metropolis Alignment (villain, hero etc): ambiguous villain Team: independent, though if there were a Team Luthor, she'd be on it! Relatives (living/dead?): Galatea (mother, status unknown), Dru-Zod (biological father, living but neutralized, location unknown), Lex Luthor (adoptive father/"grandfather", living but generally out of the picture) Backstory: Kay El Zod is the daughter of Galatea (a Power Girl clone that was a pet project of Lex Luthor's) and General Zod. In general that would be mostly uneventful (other than that being one nasty combo for parents) but there's a hitch: Galatea, thanks to being rapidly aged in a Luthor Corp lab, was incredibly mentally unstable and escaped the Luthor facility. Pregnancy did not help Galatea's mental instability and when Lex Luthor discovered what his Kryptonian project had been up to during her bid for freedom, he retrieved Galatea (and has her imprisoned in a lab where he has his scientists carry out various experiments upon her in the hopes of finding further weaknesses for Supes and his bretheren,) confiscated the infant Kay El, renamed her Kayla, and utilized to kryptonite to neutralize Zod so the Kryptonian villain would not come to claim his heir. Kayla has been raised to believe that Lex Luthor is her grandfather and that he adopted her after the death of her parents. Kayla calls him "Father." She does not know her own history nor does she question it; all she knows is that she has incredible powers that makes her an equal to the likes of Superman et al and that anyone who is a friend of Supes and his ilk is an enemy of hers. She particularly hates the young JLA. How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: In a fit of boredom, Kayla is going to attack Metropolis.
What are you planning to do with this character? I would like for Kayla to become a regular villain for the YJLA.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I think it would be interesting for, over the course of play, Kayla to discover the truth of who she is and what exactly Luthor has been up to. I'm looking to slowly redeem her from thoughtless villain to something more dimensional. She might never be an actual hero, but she can be something more than just bad.
Please include a sample post/scene: Kayla stood on top of the Luthor building and watched the city below. Everyone had somewhere to go and something to do, oblivious to the world around them. But Kayla was not oblivious. Kayla saw and heard everything from the pathetic monotony of the common folk to the machinations of their so-called heroes. Children running around in tights acting as though they ruled the world. It was nauseating, their delusion. It was sickening, how they thought that somehow they were the rule and that the world had to follow them.
The world should bow down to her.
With a sigh Kayla stepped off the building and allowed herself to drop just almost to the street below before pulling up at the last instant and soaring into the air. Behind her there were sounds: the squealing of brakes and the twisting of metal. She loved the symphony of it but more than that she loved the power. All those people who thought they had control...they had nothing at all. And before she was done, they would kneel before her.
