Dislikes: Bigots, politics, when attention is called to him, the full moon, staying by himself in the Shrieking Shack, when people pry, fist fights (it's completely barbaric), being a werewolf, the shame he feels about himself (sometimes he wishes he could proudly be a werewolf without hiding it), Bertie Botts Every Flavor Jelly Beans, grapes

Strengths: Remus is quite a skilled artist, his specialty is in sketching and drawing. It had been one of his only outlets during a dark time in his life and he developed it quite well. He is articulate, highly intelligent, and very diplomatic. His ability to remain calm in any situation has been a strength for him over the years as he has walked away from what could have been disastrous fights.

Weaknesses: The full moon causes him to transform into a werewolf, he can't control his transformations or his behavior once the transformation is complete, his solitude during his transformations has lead him to this out of control behavior and has been a constant source of frustration. When it comes to his friends he has a hard time telling them when he thinks they're taking something too far or when he disagrees with their treatment of other students (namely Severus Snape). Though it's been getting better the past few years (mostly because of his friendships with James, Sirius, and Peter) he still has guilt and shame issues when it comes to his lycanthropy. Remus has low self-confidence, he is often unsure of himself.

Boggart: His boggart is the full moon, his riddikulus is to have to turn it into a balloon which deflates and flies around the room.

Appearance
Remus is pale, often times looking quite sickly especially around the full moon. He's got light brown hair that strays to dirty blonde in the summer time because of the amount of time he spends outside. His eyes are green and bright, showing a glimpse into his curious, adventurous, and sometimes mischievous nature. He has a sweet face and an endearing smile.

Remus is quite a bit taller than the boy's his age, already standing at 6'2, though he slouches quite a bit. He'll eventually grow to be a while 6'5 by the end of his time at Hogwarts. He's got wide shoulders and the frame for a muscular body but he's not healthy enough to fill out his frame entirely leaving him looking somewhat bedraggled. His clothes are always a bit loose but his only complaint is "just because a guy is tall, that apparently makes him wide." He often laughs it off.

Aside from the ill fitting nature of his clothes, they are often patched up and in a state of disrepair. Some rips occurred during transformations and he couldn't afford to buy new clothes all the time, other tears in his clothes were often just due to wear and tear. It never bothered him though he gets teased a lot at school.

Personality
Much of Remus's personality stems from his early upbringing and the idea that he had to keep his status as a werewolf hidden. He was taught to be ashamed, it didn't take long for him to begin resenting that part of himself. He hid himself away, quietly biding his time. He was secretive and not many people knew much about him. He spent a lot of time by himself, drawing, writing, and reading to pass the time. It wasn't until he was sorted into Gryffindor and started making friends that he really let himself shine through.

Remus is an excellent student if a little bit of a prankster and quite mischievous. He's quiet at first but once someone gets to know him they get to see the more fun, goofy side of him. He has an excellent sense of humor. He is subtle and quietly brave. Like any Gryffindor he's got an immense sense of adventure and as a little bit of a trouble maker he often gets involved in cheeky shenanigans, never anything harmful though. Remus is loyal, courageous, and completely selfless. Often times he is caught saying "I can't complain." Not much bothers him and when it does he turns it around with his humor.

He is calm, gentle, good natured, responsible, forgiving, and tolerant. He doesn't particularly like when his friends bully other students and does his best to maintain a neutrality between warring parties in bullying situations. He is able to be civil to his enemies rather than harass them constantly. He is the type of person who would rather walk away when things start to turn ugly rather than fight it out. He is dignified and refuses to be fussed by ignorance, rude behavior, and cheap shots. Often times his good nature and sense of humor help him through and often enrage whoever is trying to bug him.

History
Remus Lupin was born in 1960 to John and Rose Lupin. He spent his first few years in his happy home as they only child in a mixed wizard-muggle household. His mother doted on him and his father was a proud papa, teaching him magic history and all about magic. John was hoping that his son would inherit his magical nature and so the first time Remus had a temper tantrum and one of his mother's tea pots exploded, John was overjoyed. And so life went on, Remus learned from home and spent time getting to know the other children near his home.

His father, a prominent wizard, said something to offend Fenrir Greyback, a vicious werewolf when Remus was only five years old. In a cruel, twisted sort of revenge, Greyback attacked Remus, bit him, and turned him into a werewolf. His parents did everything they could to try to find a cure but there simply was not cure, Remus was to remain a werewolf, a fact that not only caused him shame but guilt as he watched his parents lives change as they struggled to find a cure. John and Rose had fixated on curing their son, they lost focus on everything else, everything important. Remus holed himself up, shame and guilt weighing him down. He spent every full moon shackled in his parent's basement, loathing himself and his new nature.

John and Rose didn't expect their son to get into school seeing as though he was a werewolf but his acceptance letter for Hogwarts came anyways. They weren't sure if it was safe to send him but after consulting the school faculty they worked out a way to send Remus to school. During his monthly transformations he was brought to the Shrieking Shack where he could wait out the full moon in safety. These days spent by himself were not only painful because of the transformations but they were excruciatingly isolating. He spent his time there harming himself in frustration, causing the villagers to think he was a ghost. During his time there, the building became known as the Shrieking Shack. The rumors were encouraged so people would never know the true nature of what was in the shack.

It wasn't until he met his friends James, Sirius, and Peter that Remus really came out of his shell, though he trusted his friends he couldn't let them in on his secret. He was scared that his friends would abandon him if they knew the truth about him being a werewolf. When they did find out in their second year though, they accepted him and even promised to become Animagi so they could stay with him during the full moon phase every month. Now in their fifth year, his friends can take their Animagus form and he looks forward to not spending his time alone in the Shrieking Shack. He is a little bit terrified of being a Prefect as he knows his friends are going to be giving the Professors and staff a run for their money.
