You know what I love?

When people who have very obviously never spent any time in the South try to play southern characters and end up making them sound like a cross between a valley girl and the absolute worst stereotypes about southern "hicks".

Seriously, southerners? Don't talk like that. Actually, they talk very much like normal people. They don't say y'all every other word. They don't talk almost exclusively in contractions. They don't sound like they haven't gone past the 3rd grade.

Also, they do have computers and internet in small towns, southern or otherwise. I mean, I grew up dealing with people who thought that my hometown didn't have electricity or running water, so I know the stereotypes are out there, but they're not remotely true.

I hope I'm not this off base when I try to play English characters in the HP verse. I'd hope my English friends would tell me if I was.
