After the BFF told me how much she was enjoying them, I decided to check out the House of Night series, which is actually fairly enjoyable. The description from the bookcovers made me think "oh, God, another Twilight," but even though the writing isn't great, it doesn't try to pretend it is, either. I've just finished the first book and it's written very much from the perspective of the main character. It reads like the diary/ramblings of a 16 year-old girl.
That said, I enjoyed it and I'm anxious to read the rest of the series. It's no Chaucer or Shakespeare or what have you, but I'm finding the series enjoying to read so far.
It's probably sad that we're also considering a game or group PSL centered on the premise of the books (but taking place in another city so that it's all OCs). It would be the perfect opportunity to PB Katerina Graham, which I have wanted to do ever since I saw the first episode of The Vampire Diaries.
I feel like I just slept for 100 years, also. Went to bed early and slept late. My sinuses have been hating on me lately, but I think I'm feeling a little better today. At least my head isn't poundingyet. Maybe this means I'll get back into the swing of things soon. I've been neglecting RP lately and I hate that.
