Meme time! [15 Dec 2009|03:25am]
1. What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?
Lian Harper. Only 'Speedy' and a few from the Dinne'. The rest are less nicknames and more insults.

2. How old are you? When is your birthday?
18. March 13

3. Where were you born? Where do you live now? Are you patriotic?
Cambodia, Philadelphia, and I've got too many nationalities to pick just one.

4. Who are/were your parents? (Names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Roy Harper, aka Arsenal, Donna Troy, aka Troia, and Cheshire, aka the Crazy Woman We Call the Justice League to Deal With

5. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Aiden, and like a coked up ferret that can fly

6. What is your occupation?
High School Student. Do 'vigilante' and 'Titans Leader' count as jobs?

7. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?
5'9', and none of your damned business

8. What color is your hair? What color are your eyes?
Black, and blue.

9. What is your race?
I love when this question is labeled pick one, because then I can skip down to 'other.' Fill in the blank and 'choose all that apply' are just tedious.
Irish
English
French
Vietnamese
Romani by relation
Themysciran by raising
Navajo by raising
Basically I'm the result of a multi-national interplanetary orgy.

10. To which social class do you belong?
I'm pretty sure "spandex set" is the usual term.

11. Do you consider yourself to be attractive? Do others?
Yes, and any time I question if others do, I walk past Teddy in a bikini and watch him lose his ability to speak English.

12. What is your style of dress?
Post-modern overworked teenage superhero, which means whatever clean jeans are closest and whichever shirt seems closest to clean.

13. Do you have any scars? Tattoos? Birthmarks? Other unique physical features?
Not yet, no, no, and I can beat most of my classmates at arm wrestling with either arm

14. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Is this thing being written by Vandal Savage? No.

15. Are you right- or left-handed?
Ambidextrous, favoring right handed.

16. What does your voice sound like?
Totally inadequate to the ass-kicking attached to it, unfortunately.

17. What kind of vocabulary do you use?
Situational variable. If I'm at home, fairly reserved. If I'm at the tower, more relaxed, and if Teddy's around, nothing more than three syllables or he might hurt himself.

18. List three quirks or other defining characteristics.
I'm completely addicted to the eighties music my dad was constantly listening to in the Jeep, I always sleep better if my crossbow is hanging off the headboard of my bed, and I'm told that changing the channels with pennies is weird.

19. How often do you bathe? Do you wear perfumes?
At least twice a day on slow days. If I have school, patrol, training, AND gym class all on the same day, I usually wind up taking four showers. And perfume is always a bad idea for vigilantes.

20. What kind of facial expression do you commonly wear (dour glare, wry smile, etc)?
I call it smiling. For some reason everyone else thinks it's a smirk, though.

21. Do you use body language? How?
*L* If entire conversations in tactical hand signals counts, yes. If you mean more indirectly... hey, if they get distracted while I'm trying to hit them, how is that not an advantage?

22. Do you have a commonly used saying?
I used to ask people if they'd ever danced with the devil in the pale moon's light, but Dad said it creeped him out and that stealing catchphrases is cheating.

23. What is your earliest memory?
Eating spaghetti with Daddy and Uncle Dick. They say it's when we were living in New York.

24. How much schooling have you had? Did you enjoy it?
Senior year of High School, baby!
I like having nothing more pressing than an English exam to worry about, rather than, I don't know, telepathic criminal sociopaths.

25. Where did you learn most of your knowledge and skill?
LOL My back yard.

26. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Most people say things like 'down the rabbit hole,' but for me, it seems normal. Happy, I guess.

27. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
My dad still shows off the posterboard Speedy costume I made when I was five.

28. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Freshman year of high school, and it was an asshole football player who I only thought was cool because he seemed normal.

29. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Yes I am. Now having said that, how likely would I be to say anything *but* that, regardless of the true answer?

30. Do you have a notorious or celebrated ancestor? Does that affect you?
Okay, for the first part, are you serious? I have family whose names are known in other star systems.
You know, it also occurs to me that the second part qualifies for "are you serious", too. How do you live up to the guys who took down Trigon?

31. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Mom and Dad getting married, followed closely by Mom and Dad letting me lead the Titans.

32. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
We're not dead yet.

33. What is your greatest regret?
See question 28.

34. What is the most embarrassing or shameful thing ever to happen to you?
Breaking my arm in gym class because I was trying to show off for a boy. Uncle Dick still makes fun of me for breaking my arm on a three foot tall balance beam.

35. Do you have any secrets? If so, what are they?
Am I really the only one who thinks this question is self-defeating?

36. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
My little brother Aiden could probably give you the most likely contenders better than I could, because most of them were done to him.

37. When was the time you were the most frightened?
Staring down Indigo when she tried to kill my dad, and having to fight Killswitch.

38. Have you ever traveled outside of your country? If so, to where?
I still need to get to Antarctica, but I've been to all six other continents.

39. What is your alignment?
Lawful good with a side of chaotic.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I'm not broody enough to be a pessimist in this job.

41. Do you believe in a god? If so, which one and why?
I spent Christmas at Zauriel's house one year. He told us stories of being Jesus's guardian angel while we drank eggnog.

42. Do you believe in an afterlife?
I've seen footage of it, and read the after-action reports.

43. What is your greatest fear?
Letting my team down. Having friends at your side when you're in danger means that they're in danger too.

44. What makes you angry? Sad? Happy? Why?
Injustice makes me angriest, because you're depriving someone else of their equal oppurtunity to thrive. My family.

45. Do you think people are basically good or basically evil?
I think people are as good as circumstances allow them to be, generally speaking.

46. What are your views on politics? Religion? Sex?
Boring, amusing, and thus far, I like.

47. What are your views on gambling, lying, theft, and killing?
Dumb, hurtful, and the last two are actually why I wear spandex.

48. How far will you go to defend your beliefs?
I lead my friends and family into literal lines of fire to defend them.

49. How much do you value money?
I know it makes the world go round, and it's very useful, but I've been lucky enough to not have to worry about it.

50. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Cancel Robot Chicken.

51. Do you believe in self-sacrifice for the greater good?
*Blank stare* Instead of being an Olympic gymnast, archer, or rifle marksman, I beat up bad guys and I can't even brag about it in school.

52. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Uncle Wally's aunt and uncle. Other than that, I'm not sure.

53. Are you superstitious?
I'm not sure. It seems superstitious most of the time, but I've seen too much weird stuff to risk it.

54. How much do you respect the beliefs and opinions of others?
As long as their beliefs don't hurt others, they have every right to their opinions.

55. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?
Probably usually too honest.

56. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I don't think so, but most people who have them also don't realize they do.

57. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My dad, because he's my hero and he's always there for me.

58. Who is the person you respect the most? Despise the most? Why?
Superman, because he's freaking Superman, and Lex Luthor. Do I really need to specify why I dislike Lex Luthor?

59. Do you have a significant other? Who?
Not at the moment. It's hard to keep a boyfriend when you have to skip dates to save the world.

60. Do you have a lot of friends? Who is your best friend?
I have friends on the Titans as well as at school, so yes. And Teddy is probably my best friend, but he knows I'll kick his ass if he makes me admit it.

61. How do you relate to members of the same race? Class? Sex?
Do you mean species, or ethnicity? I usually feel like I have my own ethnicity, and I usually relate to my own species by trying to figure out what they're thinking and feeling. I guess my class would be 'teenaged superhero', which is kind of a small class, and I usually relate to them by joking. My own sex I usually relate to based on our usual mutual annoyance with members of the opposite sex in our age range.

62. How do you relate to members of a different race? Class? Sex?
If you mean species, I try to do research. Everyone's a different ethnicity to me, so I try to figure out customs and behavior by watching. With different classes I try to figure out what we have in common, and with boys I just filter everything that happens through a lens of stupid. On the few occasions when that doesn't work, I filter it through a lens of testosterone and it makes sense.

63. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
WHY DO YOU HAUNT ME, QUESTION 28?! (Lian's dignity would like to point out that she *thought* she was in love with our friend the asshole from question twenty-eight. In reality, she was in infatuation with a side of lust. That is all)

64. What do you look for in a potential lover?
The ability to outrun my dad?

65. How close are you to your family?
Pretty close, and that kind of flip flops between being a good thing and a bad thing. Most kids have to climb down an ivy latticework. I have to try to sneak past someone who was trained by the World's Greatest Detective.

66. Do you want a marriage, family, and/or children?
Right now I'm not thinking past rock climbing this weekend, and possibly as far ahead as college. All that other stuff comes way after.

67. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
If I started avoiding conflict I'd have to change my code name as well as my last name. It's a family tradition.

68. Are you a listener or a talker?
I probably talk more than I should, sometimes, but I try to listen in between.

69. How long does it usually take for you to trust others?
Trusting them in general, not much. I trust people until they give me a reason not to. Most of the new people I meet on the job, though, I trust when they've proven they're not going to kill me.

70. Do you hold grudges?
Not usually.

71. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Surprisingly, not in social situations. That's more Teddy's and occasionally Henry's thing. I'm vocal, but I leave the planning up to other people.

72. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?
Usually, yeah. The more the merrier.

73. How well do you express yourself?
*Digs through school papers* Ah, here it is, right from the teacher's pen on my last fiction assignment: "Very well-thought out and detailed. I especially liked your use of adjectives. It did, however, contain more profanity than I usually like to see in student assignments."
In my defense, she told us to write action and dialogue with two super heroes who she assigned. Is it my fault one of them was Wildcat?

74. How quickly do you judge others?
In social situations, I take my time, but on the job I have to make an immediate opinion, and then alter it based on later actions.

75. Do you care what others think of you?
I'd like to say no, but obviously I care what my friends and family think of me.

76. Do you have any enemies? How or why are they your enemy?
(Partial listing)
Vandal Savage- Apparently I'm related to him and he thinks my organs would make good transplants.
Hemlock- Picture the most psychotic Greenpeace terrorist you can. Now picture that terrorist as a telepath. Do I need to explain why I don't get along with him?
Susan Anderson(First period Phys Ed)- She swears I'm trying to steal her boyfriend by showing off in gym.

77. What is your favorite pastime? Color? Food? Possession?
Pastime- Camping and working on my car, followed closely by gymnastics and horror movies.
Color- Red.
Food- Rotelle pasta with alfredo sauce, game hen, and Navajo rice

78. What are your preferences in arts and/or entertainment?
Slashers and horror movies are awesome. I like alternative and classic rock, and I usually pass over art museums to go check the cars at the Smithsonian out.

79. Do you smoke, drink, go whoring, or use drugs? Why or why not?
Smoking interferes with my breathing, which can get me killed, so no.
Drinking I don't object to, but it's rare that I find time that is A)away from the family, B)with my spandex friends, and C) guaranteed to be free of world-threatening danger.
I'm not making a moral judgment with the whoring, really. One of my close friends is a former prostitute. Still, having said that- EEEEWWWW!!!
Most drugs I stay away from because they're dangerous, but my only problem with weed is the same problem I have with alcohol. Not enough chances to do it.

80. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Either hanging out with my friends at the mall, a movie, or the bowling alley, or at Titans Tower.

81. What is your most cherished fantasy?
That my genetic mother wasn't a genocidal maniac, but that may be blurring the line between fantasy and delusion.

82. How long is your attention span?
My what?
Okay, most people would say I have a good attention span, and to the people who say my attention span is short, I would like to mention the following names: Wally West, Teddy Knight, Bart Allen, Iris West, and Aiden Harper.

83. Do you laugh a lot? What do you find funny?
I do laugh a lot, and what I find funny is usually someone doing something stupid, something I'm about to do to someone who deserves it, or the absurdity of how much danger I occasionally find myself in.

84. Is there anything that shocks or offends you? If so, what?
Not much shocks me, but ignorance offends me, as well as hurting other people. Other than that, not much.

85. How do you deal with stress?
With a heavy bag, with the gymnastics equipment at the tower, or with the pummeling of random criminals.

86. How much athletic ability do you have? Artistic?
I've been flying on a trapeze longer than I've been walking, and I can bench press more than some members of my school's football team. As for art, I can draw okay, but I like painting better. I'm really good at ceramics, though.

87. Do you like animals? Do you like children?
I love animals, and kids are cool as long as their mom and/or dad are there to give them back to.

88. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Plans are good, but I lean more toward Patton's "A good plan violently executed right now is better than a perfect plan executed next week" idea. All the bad guys expect you to have a plan they can disrupt.

89. What are your pet peeves?
People who use every slang word they come across every chance they get.
People who leave their dogs tied up outside of restaurants while they're eating outside.

90. What is your greatest strength as a person? Weakness?
Self-confidence.

91. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd be able to fly.

92. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Probably mostly extroverted.

93. Do you like yourself?
Generally, yeah.

94. Do you have a daily routine? How do you feel if your day is interrupted?
I have a daily routine with interruptions scheduled in.

95. What goal do you most want to accomplish in the next six months? Your lifetime?
In the next six month, pass Geometry. In my lifetime, I want to make people remember me being Speedy the way they remember Tim or Dick being Robin.

96. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years?
I try not to think that far ahead, but in five years, I'd like to have some kind of degree from a college, in ten years the Justice League could be fun, and in twenty years maybe I'll be doing the Oracle thing. You know, taking out the bad guys from a computer terminal without ever having to change out of my pajamas.

97. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Saving the world. Duh.

98. What is the one thing you would like to be remembered for after your death?
Being a good friend and a good leader. Bringing my guys home safe.

99. What three words would you use to best describe your personality?
Self-confident, adaptive, and self-assured.

100. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Smart-ass, confident, and smart.

101. Why are you risking your life to adventure?
It's in my blood.
