Joslin was a traveler. He always had been, from the moment he was a little boy, even. He was always wandering around, trying to explore as much as he possibly could. When he got old enough, he'd asked Hunter if he could go around from pack to pack and be an ambassador of sorts and Hunter had agreed. Joslin was calm and mellow, a lot like Everett in that respect, and he was very good with other people. He always kept in touch, though, mostly it was letters. He wasn't a phone person. He wrote a lot of music, played guitar and piano, and he liked to write stories as well. Cole had always been his best friend. It was probably difficult for Cole for a while, getting letters but never knowing where to send them because Joslin moved around so much.
Finally, Joslin had come home. Though Cole was in the city with a new job. With a baby on the way and with Ryder. Of course Joslin knew about Ryder and about Lundy, but he hadn't a clue about the baby just yet. Cole had been Joslin's first kiss and first sexual experience. They'd shared a lot of firsts together, and the bond that Joslin felt to him had never gone away. Joslin knew that it never would. Instead of going into town to find Cole, he just waited for Cole to find his way back to the haven. Joslin knew he would.

Everr had grown up next door to Kalen, and the two hadn't started out as best friends. Girls had cooties, after all. But when it became apparent that Everr wasn't like other girls, aka, she was a serious tomboy the two became inseperable. They'd play cars together, GI Joes, Cowboys and Indians, you name it. They'd watch Ninja Turtles and Transformers and X-men. In middle school, Everr started a comic book collection that boys envied. She started to grow up, just as Kalen did, and of course she noticed that he was attractive. Everyone in the world noticed. When he started dating Victoria, she befriended the other girl because Vic needed friends after the hell the other girls in the school put her through. Then Kalen went off to college, and so did Everr. They kept in touch, emails, IM's, texts, phonecalls. She talked to him every day, practically, and felt weird when they missed a day. The past month and a half things had been crazy for the both of them, and their phonecalls had been short. She had taken a break from school and traveled around for the past year, and when she decided to go back to New Haven for school she settled back into the apartment she had sublet. She knew Kalen was there, too, and so she decided to call him and tell him that she was back.
