The rules:
1. Truth or Dare: Post a scene idea as a dare. It can be in-canon, or it can be AU. You can challenge any of mine with any of yours. I can take the dare, or turn it down, by offering an honest in character answer to any question you want to ask. If I take the dare, you can set up the scene and we'll play through it.

2. Putting the 'R' in RP: So most of the time, rp comes down to casual social or big mod-run plots. This is neither, so let's spice it up. Your dare-scene challenge must involve either A. gratuitous violence, B. gratuitous nudity (I'm willing to play out sex scenes if they make sense, or hint at them) C. gratuitous crack. - because these aren't going through moderation, they can't really change anything, no new powers, no big item acquisitions, but gratuitous hero battles or villain of the week-ish stuff should be ok. Multiple choices from A, B and C are also possible.

3. Pay it Forward: As usual, if you take this challenge and post a scene idea, you also need to put this up in one of your journals, and offer some or all of yours up for scene challenges. Now the tricky part - if I take a dare, I will temp at least one of the npcs needed, if any are. I will not require you to NPC for me, no. Instead, you must temp at least one npc in any dares you take.
And, why yes, this is an effort to get people to temp occasional npcs for others in order to encourage rp. You have an easy out in any scenes you're truly not comfortable with - you can always take 'truth', and I may, not every scene will fit my characters or my fancy... but the idea is still to encourage rp, get people doing scenes and playing with characters, whether AU or our canon, and doing the little things to help get scenes going.

(takes place after the Champions plus Misha rescue the kids)

Lyta waited outside the Champions headquarters for Misha to return. After what had gone down when they were rescuing the kids, yes she'd admit that she was a bit worried about him. Then again, she hadn't known that Irina's father that had been the man, nor did she know that he was responsible for kidnapping and experimenting on the children. While every fiber of her being had wanted Misha to end Alexi right there and then...but the fact that he was Irina's father and her blood that stopped her.

Still, she could tell from the look in Misha's eyes that he was upset, enraged even. She couldn't just go to sleep.

And so, she waited, leaning against the wall, sipping on a hot cup of tea that she'd made.

Okay...getting it out there just so people know, I will be out of town from May 23rd to the 30th, as I am going to Spain and Portugal with my choir, on a tour. I will not be taking the laptop with me, so I will not be getting to pings and the such while I'm away. I'll try to push through stuff this week (even though I'm getting my brain back together from finals and getting over a cold, so I apologize in advance for slowness), as I know that a couple of my characters are involved in a couple of plots. Charlie, in 12-Step, will be a little tricky, as I know that me not being around to play him will stall the plot a little, so I understand if people want to wrap up step one/start the next one and want to just have him as just being there, helping out, but not really in the thick of things.

I will be sure to take lots of pictures!

Random Character Thoughts.

I totally ripped this idea of Dylan. After seeing his, it seemed like a pretty good idea to do something similar with mine. So thank you Dylan, for giving me this idea. :)

Lyta: Has come a lot farther than from what I originally intended for her, which was really just for her to be one of the senior members of the X-crew, who had no objections offering leadership when it was needed of her. Since I've picked her up she's rejoined the X-Men, left them to start afresh with the Champions in New Orleans, and recently, has become brainwashed into being a Dark Rider of Apocalypse. She's discovered that she had a half-brother that she never knew about, and has formed a pretty solid bond with him. She's close to a couple of the X-kids, namely Misha, Joe, Lucas, Slyvie, Cait, and Rachel. Recently, before she was kidnapped by the Dark Riders, she and Misha more or less in a way confessed their feelings for each other after years of heavy flirting. She's going to have quite a bit on her mind that she has to deal with after The Horsemen of Apocalypse plot wraps up.

Needs to happen: Get over any feelings of guilt that she had while being a Dark Rider and forced to attack those that she's close too. Will be taking a brief leave of absence from the Champions to get her head straight. Develop relationship with Misha a little bit more.

Plot: Will be making an appearance in Empress Part II. Currently working on some possible plot ideas for the Champions, mainly involving the Avatars.

Molly: One of the resident "team sweethearts" of the X-Men, Molly has quickly adjusted to life at Xavier's Institute since first arriving back in December. She's formed a couple of friendships, and feels almost at home with them as she did with the Runaways when she was younger. She's going to be depressed when Sarah leaves for the Exiles, Sarah being her first real crush/romantic relationship. With Sarah, Molly has come to the realization that she is bisexual, though she probably won't be as openly upfront about it as Chris.

Needs to happen: After moping around for a while after Sarah leaves the dimension to go off with the Exiles, throw herself more into getting involved with the X-Men, mainly helping out with some of the younger kids, and of course, more fun with the rest of X-Men, as Molly will be a part of the Gold Squad. While I highly doubt that she'll step up to lead (as she's not much of a natural leader herself and would much rather let Misha or someone else lead while she acts support), but she'll get known as a pretty solid member of the team, and one that they can rely on in a tight pinch.

Plots: I have none planned for her at the moment, but wherever the X-Men go, she'll go.

Valeria: She's in a pretty okay place right now. She's absolutely smitten with James, and even though she doesn't know where they might end up in the future, is perfectly content with where they are right now in their relationship. She's become the stand-in for Cassie on F4 while she's on maternity leave. She's been through quite a bit in the past couple of months, with her parents dying, and her brother bringing them back and opening up all of Hell in the process, which led to her, Kristoff, and a human Andrea literally going to hell save Franklin. That, and Vincent, her almost-brother is nowhere to be found, having chosen Asgard over his adopted family.

Needs to happen: She's not going to be happy at all with Vincent when she finds out that he chose Asgard (which he hasn't been to since he was FIVE) over the people that took him in when he had nowhere else to go and treated him as one of their own. She'll be a mix of upset, angry, and just plain HURT. And she probably won't like that he's now calling himself "Richardson", as far she sees it, he has no right to go and do that after what he did. This will probably effect her whole entire relationship with him as a whole, as if she were given a choice like that, she would pick her family over honor and glory (which is basically how she sees what Vicent did) in a heartbeat. She'll turn to Franklin and James for support, and while she may eventually come to look past Vincent's choice, her entire relationship with him will be forever changed, and more than likely not for the better.

Plots: Plot with the Frightful Four, hopefully.

Charlie: The poor guy really hasn't much of a chance to prove himself yet, which I kind of blame myself for, letting people poke fun at him a little. He can be a bit of a goof-off in front of his friends, as he has no problem getting everyone to crack a laugh once and awhile, but he's serious and buckles down right to business once he's in the field. He has the potential to be a great leader for the Avengers, but the chance for him to do that just hasn't risen up yet. I love the relationships that he's developed in-game so far, mainly his bromance with Steve, his brother/sister friendships with Anya and Sammy (them being the closest things to siblings that he had before James fell into NGverse), and his relationship with his brother, James. He has a pretty hefty crush on Toni, and was hoping for more of a relationship with her, which got stalled by her being kidnapped and turned into Virus. He'll be there for her and support her as much he can when she free from Poccy's grip, though 12-Step may further stall their relationship.

Needs to happen: He's going to go through some changes in 12-Step, as he'll mostly be assuming the leadership position for the team that he's going to be traveling around with, though he might clash with Svalin first a little. But the Avengers are going to see a changed Charlie when he gets back, and not the lovable goof off the field that they've all come to know. He'll be much quicker to take charge, and if anyone thinks that he's joking, he'll be much quicker to snap at them to quit fooling around and get in line. And even though he'll know that the chances of it happening a pretty much a shot in hell, he's going to be weirded out as all fuck that him and Sammy were happily married with a child in the version of the possible future that he and the rest of the 12-Steppers. It may affect how he acts around Toni for awhile (because the idea of him and Sammy is just so BIZARRE), but just until he's less weirded-out by the idea.

Plots: Plot with the Rogers boys and the Red Skull, Empress Part II, and 12-Step. Eventually, Charlie and Steve's Excellent Adventure which will involve a trip to the Wild West and them screwing up the timestream to where they arrive back at a future that's dominated by apes. A nice mix of serious and fun crack stuff for him.

Dani: She's not going to be around here for much longer, as she's leaving with the Exiles when they depart from the NG universe. She's going to be a little peeved about leaving her home behind at first, but having Rose with her will help to ease the pain a little.

Needs to happen: Wrapping up stuff with Rose before she can leave.

Plots: Leaving to go with the Exiles.

Ellie: She's as happy as a clam right about now. Her powers FINALLY developed and she thinks they're the coolest thing ever. She LOVES being at Xavier's. She wants to join the X-Men....but can't quite seem to grasp the concept that she's too young to go out into the field just quite yet. She's also had her first date, with Daniel Grimm, and may just kind of like him, and will probably get into more ~~trouble~~ fun with him the future.

Needs to happen: Probably do something with her brother before Dmitri goes off to join Excalibur. More shenanigans with Daniel. Further development of her powers. I'm fine with Ellie being more of a "just there" sort of character than someone that's actively involved in the thick of things. Also, she's still far too young to don a cape and save the world.

Plots: None. I'm fine with her being more involved in social type scenes that part of a big plot, though if she ever fits in one, I'd gladly toss her in.

Grace: I've gotten her off to a pretty great start, which I'm happy for. She's rebelled against her mom for pretty much the first time and her life and finally found her father, which is something that she's dreamed of doing since she was about five years old. She loves living with the Defenders, and absolutely ADORES Syd and Zoey, and was a little disappointed to find out that Simon wasn't married to Syd and that Zoey wasn't her sister, though she still adores them all the same. She thinks Halbjorn's pretty good-looking, but I don't really see anything happening there yet. She stood up to her Mom when Carol came to take her back to Boston with her, and is finally forming a relationship with the father that she always wanted, though she still feels the need to act like the "perfect" daughter after years of walking on eggshells around Carol. She's enjoying the bonding time that she's having with Simon right now, and finally feels comfortable to point where she can call him "Dad" without feeling weird about it.

Needs to happen: Eventually, Grace will be taking on the mantle of Ms. Marvel when she gets more involved with Defenders. Of course, in order to step into her mother's old mantle, it will require her getting over some of her issues that she and Carol have, and putting them past each other. While Carol and Grace truly love each other, they don't see eye-to-eye on lot of things that Carol did during Grace's upbringing. What Carol saw as protecting Grace, Grace saw as unfair. Also, more bonding with Simon and getting to know the Defenders and adjusting to her new home.

Plots: Whatever's up next for the Defenders. Eventually taking over the Ms. Marvel handle.

May: The most under-developed of my hero characters thus far, having picked her up at a fairly busy time in the comm, with a couple of big plots going on that same time, thus making it hard to introduce May as Spider-Girl and get her out in the open as a crimefighter. Yeah, she's been going out after her gymnastics practices and going donning the Spider-Girl outfit, but she's been sticking to small-scale crimes, such as mugging, as she promised Peter and MJ that she wouldn't go into 'the life' like her father, even though May disagrees strongly with this. Eventually, when she gets caught, the whole thing is going to blow up in her face, and her and Peter are going to have a long talk about what she's been up to. She has also been developing a fast friendship with Mel Frost-Robbins, who she has agreed to tutor in chemistry, but doesn't know that her new found BFF moonlights as the Hood, the hired gun for Rose Red. Likewise, Mel doesn't know about May's double-life as Spider-Girl.

Needs to happen: Getting known out in the cape community as Spider-Girl. I have a plot developed and ready to go for her, but I'm waiting until the big stuff slows down before I go with it. Also planning with De for Mel and May to find out about each other, which won't end well for the both of them at all. In addition to being an Independent, I'd like for May to be a reserve member of the Avengers, maybe helping them out from time to time, like Kal and Jack.

Plots: Along Came A Spider. Then Kingpin stuff.

And while I have not apped for her yet, a little sneaky-peak at my character for the brand new S.H.I.E.L.D team, Alice Dugan, granddaughter of Dum-Dum Dugan.

Alice: She's the third generation of her family to go into S.H.I.E.L.D (as I really can't picture a kid of Dum-Dum's NOT going into the 'family business'). A Cadet at the Academy, she's dedicated to what she does and is quickly rising up in the ranks, earning the notice of Nick Fury (who's already known her entire life, with Nick and Dum Dum being very close, and Sammy and Alice are already very close friends), and a spot on the new team.

Needs to happen: Unlike Sammy, Alice has no intention of leading S.H.I.E.L.D, and is perfectly content to be a go-to guy for Sammy, and offer her support and help her run things. She's more of a second-in-command type of person, very much like her grandfather is to Nick. She's going to be a part of the new S.H.I.E.L.D team, going along with them in missions and doing everything that it takes for the team to succeed.

Plots: S.H.I.E.L.D team formation.

Where and when did you start rping?
Wow. A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Not really, though. I think I was about fourteen and it was a Mighty Ducks (the movie series) rp.

Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging?
Prose. I started with first-person but now...it kinda bugs me.

What was the first character you ever played?
Linda Chavez, from the third Mighty Ducks movie.

Who's your favourite character to play now, and why?
Damn. I have a lot of fun characters that I love to play. Maxine Hunkel is a lot of fun, because I see a lot of myself in her, we both love musicals, can be antisocial and closed off at times and we don't know when or how to shut up. Iris West is also a lot of fun to play because she's just so goddamn hyperactive. I could go on and on about each and everyone of my characters, and say what I love the most about them. So really, I don't think I have a set "favorite".

What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character?
I've played Mia Dearden for over a year now, at various rps. She's quickly become one of my favorite characters in comics and I love playing her.

What's your biggest rp pet peeve?
People dropping threads mid-scene when people are waiting for pings is up there, but I know I've done it a couple of times, so I'm not going to harp. But mostly, I really don't like it when people create Mary Sue characters, know that that character is a super Sue and do nothing to develop the character. Yes, a tragic backstory is all fun and well but, come on, not every character can be an orphan and a rape victim and have witnessed the murder of their boyfriend/soul mate and love everyone on the face of the planet. If that were me, I'd need some serious therapy. I also don't like rps that were created solely for the purpose of characters hooking up with each other and getting laid. I mean, pairings are all good fun and everything but....can we have something other than sex happen in a game? Like....someone lands in prison in Mexico and someone bails them out?

Do you read rp secrets and the anon meme?
Only if I'm linked.

If you've played in public before, do you prefer community or journal based games?
Community. I've given up on rps where you're supposed to have the character write in their "diary" twice a week or something. Too much effort for me. I'd rather just play.

Would you rather play with someone who's very very ic but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always ic (but not terrible) and a great writer.
A character can't always be a hundred-percent IC all the time. So not always IC and a great writer works for me.

Do you have an "rp partner"?
I have a whole group of people that I'm on several rps with, but I'll rp with pretty much everyone.

Do you ever stalk any casts, games, or players?
I think it can be said that I am now officially stalking the Nation Cast....but seriously, not really.

In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying?
I loathe writing up histories. Mostly for cannon characters. Especially when it has to be a certain length and the character's really obscure. UGH. Original characters tend to be easier for me because I can make it up as I go along.

Are you one of those people who has to customize their character's journal layout and userinfo?
I've given up on pretty layouts. As I tend to stay away from rps that require the updating of a journal. I like to have a "profile" of the character in the userinfo though. At least for OCs.

What was your first game?
Mickey's Diner, a Mighty Ducks (movies) rp over on LJ. I've since then done Harry Potter (a TON), X-Men (movie verse until recently), an Inuyasha game, a Greys' Anatomy one, and a couple of original high-school based rps, on both LJ and Proboards. I took a break for a while before stumbling over JLA Watchtower over on LJ summer of 2008. I'm still active there, as well as DC Nation, DC Nextgen, Marvel Nextgen, and most recently, Marvel Mansion.

Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from?
I try and stray away from anime and Harry Potter characters. Kinda hard to in a place like dear_mun or something among those lines.

Most memorable scene in any thread?
I could give you a few that I'm fond of, but nothing really comes straight to mind of being the "most" memorable.

Do you rp sex?
Yes, but only in private journals and only with someone I'm really comfortable playing with.

Do you play more males than females?
Females. I'm picky when it comes to playing males.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Egg Nog.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
He sits them under the tree.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
White. It's classic.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No. The boys do, though. Lots of it. I've developed a pattern of dodging around it over the years.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
Whenever we decide it's time to decorate the mansion
6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
Aunt Jean makes these really GOOD sweet potatoes.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
Uncle Hank dressing up as Santa and coming in with a huge bag of presents for us kids Christmas morning.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
My mom told me when I was nine. She felt that I was too old to believe in Santa. She still leaves me presents under the tree labled "From Santa", though.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Mom and I always exchange presents then.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
I like to keep things organized. Though that doesn't really happen...as some people tend to get carried away when it comes to stringing up tinsel.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
A little bit of both. It's nice to watch it fall, not so nice when you can't go out and fly in it.
12. Can you ice skate?
Kind of. I normally need to hold onto someone for support, though.

Mom bought me this charm bracelt when I was ten. She buys me a new one every year.
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
I love spending time with my parents. The three of us try to get together for lunch or dinner either on Christmas Eve or Day.

Gingerbread. I bite the heads of first.

I love singing along to Christmas music on the radio...even though Misha and Joe do a pretty damn good job of telling me I'm off-key.

Yum. Especially dipped in hot chocolate. They're yuck when someone sticks them in your hair though.

Character Name: Lyta Rose Braddock-Worthington

Physical description (face, build, weight): Lyta is tall, at 5'8, with a lean, slender, build. She has long, wavy blond hair that falls past her shoulders, blue eyes, and round face with soft cheekbones. Lyta's most prominent feature, though, has to be the pair of angel wings growing out of her back. She hates concealing them, though she will wear a special brace fashioned to keep them bound to her back when she's out in public. Lyta's fashioned most of her clothes to accommodate her wings.
Age: 21

Abilities: Lyta's wings, not only to they grant her the ability to fly, but her bone structure is hollowed, like that of a bird's. Lyta possesses telepathic abilities, which gives her the ability to read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of others, among other abilities that she herself has yet to tap into. Lyta also possesses peak human strength, being able to lift up to about five-hundred pounds, superhuman stamina, durability, and a regenerative healing factor. She was also trained in the marital arts and sword-fighting by her mother.
Weaknesses and flaws: If she suffers any critical injuries, such as getting shot directly to an organ, Lyta will not heal as quickly. If her wings are weighted down by too much water, Lyta will be unable fly, or crash to the ground while in flight.

Relatives (living/dead?): Warren Worthington III/Angel (father, living), Betsy Braddock/Psylocke (mother, living).
Backstory: Lyta is the only child of Warren Worthington and Betsy Braddock, the X-Men known as Angel and Psylock. Lyta was the result of a brief reunion that her parents had when they were both the X-Men. When Betsy first found out that she was pregnant, Warren wanted to marry her. Betsy, turned down his offer, as the couple had split at the time. However, as Warren wanted to be involved in his daughter's life, the two shared jointed custody of their daughter, and Lyta was shuttled back and forth between the two, though she spent a large portion of her time with her mother. It was her father that taught her how to fly, and her mother that trained in both her telepathic abilities and the marital arts. When she turned fourteen, Xavier offered Lyta an invitation to attend Xavier's School for the Gifted. Lyta accepted, wanting to hone her abilities, but also wanting to get a chance to have a closer look at the career path that her parents chose. She bonded with the children of other X-Men, as well as new students around her age. When she turned eighteen, Lyta left the mansion to pursue a degree in business management. Recently, having successfully earned her degree, she is coming back to the mansion to do what she loves the most, fighting for the greater good side by side with the X-Men.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Coming back to Xavier's.
What are you planning to do with this character?: I'm planning to have her try and act as a older sister/leader figure to the younger X-Men. Lyta tends to be very aloof and closed-off at times, and I'd like to maybe have her "get over" that aspect of her personality. She still has some growing up to do.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I'd like to see her take a bit of a leadership role in certain situations.

RP Sample:
Lyta soared over the skies of New York City.

This was what she loved. Freedom. Flying. She hated wearing that restraining brace used to conceal her wings. She wished that she didn't have to wear it all the time. She didn't see why she had to "fit in". She never had. As her mother told her, she was born to stand out.

Closing her eyes, Lyta flew across the skyline, taking in the heat coming off from the sunset. Blocking out the thoughts coming down from the city below her. Funny thing about her telepathy, it didn't have an "off" switch sometimes.

Sighing, Lyta touched down on the rooftop of a building, letting the last few rays of sunlight dance on her face.
