• On August 27 of the year 1989, two crazy kids had their second of five children, and unfortunately named him Matthew Ambrose Hale. Being that they belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and are obsessed with the Bible, they named all of their children after saints. Of course, it wasn't as if they didn't have the money to put hideous name plaques on the doors of Kearns Mansion.
• Jonathan Hale Jr is the son of an oil tycoon, who is now the proud governer of the state of Utah. You'd think that alone would be plenty of money for the family, but not only is their dad rolling in cash, it just so happens that their mother is Christine Penney, heiress to the J.C. Penney fortune. Having a father who is richer than God, as he puts it, and a mother with a name attached to one of the biggest names in retail doesn't exactly throw a stick in Matt's way, nor does it take away from him knowing they're still regular parents. Though his parents do often ask him to attend church more often, it's just not his thing.
• Matt likes the money they have, and frequently uses his credit card on pretty much everything. He has no limits when it comes to spending, because his parents never gave him one. With his oldest brother John off at college, and his three younger siblings (Allisyn, Peter, and Paul) still living at home, he takes every opportunity he has to get out of the house. He loves his family, sure, and he's glad to be somewhat out of John's shadow, but he prefers to be in the outside world.
• His only sister, Allisyn, is the only Hale kid that wasn't named after a saint. While he does love his family, he just can't get close to his sister. They have moments where they'll take the time out to speak to eachother in order to trade a Pokemon, which is about the only thing they have in common, but other than that they are usually throwing punches at one another. Yeah, he knows it's wrong to hit a girl, but in his opinion..it's not a girl, it's his bratty sister.
• He's big on partying, as long as he's not the one throwing it, and enjoys downing a few beers before jumping into a hot tub with some hot girls. One of his favorite past times is spending a weekend out with some of his best friends, and he can often be found at the local hot spots. He has ways of getting past the bouncers, and it's the first bill under a Benjamin.
• School is something he secretly enjoys, even if he's bitching from the moment first bell rings. He's a big fan of Science Fiction, though mostly Star Wars and Harry Potter, which is why he is always wide awake during first period. If it's not non-fiction, he'll enjoy it. He gets fair grades, but his best grades are in Science Fiction & Mythology and Painting II. Painting helps him clear his mind, no matter how stupid it sounds. He signed up for Drivers Ed so he could get his liscense, but now he just purposefully scares the hell out of the teacher.
• The fact that he has a class with his sister absolutely horrifies him, because he hates the way she acts out. If it were up to him, he'd only have to see her at home. Their mother held him back from starting school so he and Allisyn could have classes together. That's the one thing he holds against their mom. He just can't comprehend why anyone would put him through the hell of having to sit through fifty minutes of listening to Allisyn act like an idiot.
• His lovelife is absolutely nonexistant, because he won't admit to himself that he wants a girlfriend. In his mind, he's the biggest player there is at West High. And it's probably true, he's a big flirt. He doesn't care if the girl has a boyfriend, he'll hit on her anyway. And if they bore him, he moves on. He has no patience for whiney girls, so he will get up in the middle of a date and leave the girl stranded if she starts acting clingy over him watching another girl's ass. He's done so many times before, too.
