I answer to Mands also, but really only Rog and Mikey call me that. No one calls me Amanda, except mum. If you'd like to lose a limb you may call me Amanda.
Age: 17
Birthday: 1 December, 1979
Birthplace: Wetherby, Yorkshire, England
Nationality: English, Scottish and German
Blood: Halfblooded; her grandmum's a muggleborn, and her father come from pureblooded lines but has no magical abilities.
Residence: Manston, Yorkshire ; Hogwarts
Occupation: Student
Wand: 11 inches willow; unicorn hair.
Patronus: Peregrine Falcon
Bogart: lizards devouring her family alive
Alignment: Light; she'd mostly supported the Order

Appearance

Height: 5'9
Weight: 59kg (130 lbs)
Eye Colour: light blue eyes
Hair Colour: nearly waist long straight dark brown hair
Hearing: Quite capable, not exceptional hearing, though she has yet to have any hearing problems
Eyesight: Perfect
Dexterity: right
General Appearance:
She has a thin, but athletic frame. She takes Quidditch and her practices very seriously, and therefore works hard at keeping herself fit and trained for matches. Additionally, due to her Northern European origin, Mandys rather pale; this contrasts nicely with dark coloured hair. Additionally, because of her regular visits to Scotland, Mandy has gained a bit of a Scottish burr that she's somehow managed to incorporate into her speech.

Although Mandy had a steady boyfriend, she's never considered herself particularly beautiful (Ryan later broking up with her, didn't help). Her brother used to tease her quite often when they were little and even to this very day, making her believe that she was rather plain. Not that Mandy particularly minded, believing that intelligence and personality were aspects that win out in the end.

Personality
First Impression:
At first glance, Mandy comes off as a shy, quiet and introverted girl. In the classroom and about the common room, Mandy is usually the one in the back of the class, or in the corner of her room, quietly reading the text, or scribbling notes to herself as she sucks on the back of the quill. On the Quidditch field, however, Mandy may come off as a far more determined, as she does her very best to ensure a Ravenclaw victory.
Issues:
Mandy absolutely despises lizards, and has had several nightmares. Although frequent when she was little, they have lessened over the years. To this date, however, Mandy does have a habit of jumping involuntarily and going away from them. Her phobia is still quite real.
Behaviour:
Ever since about the age of 10 Mandy and her brother have had a prank war. It all started when Daniel decided it would be funny to cut off some of her hair in the middle of the night. Ever since then, the two have played pranks on each other. She would also enjoy playing tricks on others, but her cleverest and meanest tricks would always be reserved for Daniel. In spite of this, Mandy was usually a shy girl. She really doesn’t enjoy the attention, although at times it may seem like she's loud, this is truly only a façade. In reality, she would rather spend some quiet time with a book, her favourite being history. This is one of the reasons Mandy loves her job. As a curse breaker she is saved her from having to make connections to get ahead, but rather rely upon her skills to prove her worth. That is not to say she is not friendly, however one must get past the shy exterior, to get to know the real Mandy.

Mandy's quite good at most intellectual capacities, and is completely and utterly besotted with reading anything Historical, especially anything concerning the Medieval era, she's also very accomplished at Charms and Potions in addition to her Ancient Runes capabilities. Mandy's thirst for knowledge has driven her all of her life, and it is because of this that she tries her hardest to challenge herself though new methods, always seeking answers to new questions. Mandy, however, is not solely books and classes. She is naturally intelligent, and has always found intelligence to be something vital to everyone. She's never enjoyed the company of people who cannot think at her level, and finds that intellectual discussions most stimulating. For someone constantly surrounded by blokes, Mandy has found that she'd had to develop a good sense of humour and wit in addition everything else, just so she can come up with good comebacks and intelligent quips when the blokes get silly. Finally, Mandy's a very good Quidditch player, and an excellent Chaser, having played on the house team for years; she has always thought about going professional, but thought the move far too risky.

Unfortunately, Mandy can be incredibly judgemental. This goes hand in hand with her being terribly unforgiving of certain aspects of people's personality. The most one factor she finds most aggravating is stupidity and to a an extent ignorance. Although she cannot entirely fault people for things that they do not know, she also is incapable of spending much time with people who are just not able to hold more intellectual conversation. Whilst she can indulge in mundane conversations, Mandy's vocabulary is relatively large, and speaking to someone who cannot comprehend everything she says grates on her nerves. Over the years she has convinced herself that Hufflepuff is full of stupid people, and as such she tends to stay away from there. Yes, she has a few people she speaks to in the house; however she's generally wary of members of the house as she's met several people who were far from the brightest bulbs. This, however, is not because she feels superior to people. Instead she just thinks that people should be living up to their intellectual capacity. Clearly she does not expect people to be geniuses, and does not consider herself one either, however, she would never find the amusement in childish behaviour as some people her age would, and could not for the life her be able to stand a lengthy conversation with either Crabbe nor Goyle.

Mandy also tends to be highly critical of herself. She knows she's intelligent because she's seen her marks, and has found herself capable to keep up with her peers in intellectual conversations. However, she tends to attribute this to hard work on her part and loads and loads of studying. Secretly, Mandy's actually afraid that she doesn't quite belong in Ravenclaw, however much she desperately wishes to. Her critical behaviour extends actually to every aspect of her life. Not only does she feel that she's not intelligent enough for Ravenclaw, she's also certain that she's a bad friend for often thinking about herself, not at all pleasing to look at and part of her is certain that she will end up spending the rest of her life living in a small home in Kent, with twenty cats, 10 owls and not a single friend. As a result, Mandy is highly insecure about herself and her behaviour and therefore prefers doing things and discussing matters that take the attention off of her.

While Mandy had grown up, she hasn’t completely lost all of her childhood fears and dreams. Mandy is also incredibly afraid of lizards; not large iguana type, but the small kind you see running around in the bushes. She’s had several nightmares since she was three, where the things eat her alive; and although she knows it’s ridiculous, whenever she sees them Mandy becomes frightened. Daniel loves to tease her about it even to this day. Although they don’t appear frequently, she has woken up once or twice screaming. Now, as when she was younger, Mandy tends to chew on the end of her quills when she’s thinking, which is why she always has to ensure that she has several quills on hand, lest she end up spitting out feather bits.

Motivation:
Mandy’s number one driving force is her desire to do the very best that she can. Whether this is in Quidditch (which she absolutely adores) or in the classroom, Mandy will do her best, with the least effort involved. With strong intelligent female figures in her life, Mandy has always thought that women can do anything they set their mind to, and as Mandy has set her mind to becoming a curse breaker, that is what she is working towards.
Sorting:
As long as Mandy can remember she has been studying.
Strengths:
Mandy's quite good at most intellectual capacities, and adores reading historical novels, especially anything concerning the Medieval era, she's also very accomplished at Charms and Potions in addition to her Ancient Runes capabilities. Finally, Mandy's a very good Quidditch player, and an excellent Chaser, having played on the house team for years; she has always thought about going professional, but thought the move far too risky.
Weaknesses:
she has the habit of getting so wrapped up in a book, that she tends to ignore everything else around her. She is also snarky to people who are not at her intellectual level. When writing, Mandy tends to chew on the back of quills which is why she always writes with sugar quills. Mandy’s also deathly afraid of lizards, something she’s had nightmares about since she was young. Mandy's also rubbish at relationships, most specifically flirting.
Greatest Fear:
Mandy absolutely despises lizards, and has had several nightmares. Although frequent when she was little, they have lessened over the years. To this date, however, Mandy does have a habit of jumping involuntarily and going away from them. Her phobia is still quite real. Her biggest fear, however, is losing all of those people who are closest to her, namely Roger and Lisa. As much as she does love her family, over the years and the separation, Mandy has found that her friends have become more of a family than those to whom she was born.

Romantic Relationships
Sexual preference: Heterosexual
Significant other: no one
Secret loves: Terry Boot
Dating style: having only dated one bloke, Mandy really has no dating style.
Former flames: Ryan Chambers, Terry Boot (since 4th year)
Relationship history: Ryan was the first lad Mandy had every dated. She'd been asked out once or twice to Hogsmeade. As she'd been friends with Ryan for a very long time, she soon found that the bloke with whom she'd been playing pranks on her friend; one of her partners in crime, was suddenly seeming so much more important. Mandy, however, would not reveal her feelings. So, Ryan did his very best to make her jealous, and on the train back home for the hols, December 12th 1997, Mandy told Ryan just how much he meant to her. Ry meant the world to Mandy, and the pair got on very well, spending most of their time together. Although Mandy thought they had been doing well, Ryan suddenly broke up with her just after their vacation.
Difficulties: None, she has no relationship to speak of; however when in one, Mandy has a habit of being a tad too blunt and straight forward.
Turn-ons: nice smile, good sense of humour, sweetness, spontaneity;
Turn-offs: attitudes, mean people, stupidity

Platonic Relationships

Best friends:
<s>Ryan Bradley</s>
Mandy's second love, and good friend. She does still have some feelings for Ryan, though she has been doing her very best to get over him. His leaving her in 1997 to go to Italy completely devastated Mandy and she has been trying very hard to get over him.
Roger Davies
Roger is Mandy's best friend in the whole wide world. He means absolutely everything to her, and she loves him dearly. They get along all of the time, usually playing around, and being generally annoying to each other. That being said, it's always friendly banter and Mandy really has no idea what she would do without him. Roger has been there for her when she needed him, and he has always been kind, helping her out when Mandy needed it, to just generally lending a shoulder when she needed one to cry on. She does trust Roger with her life, and will tell him absolutely everything, even the sort of things he'd likely not know.
Padma Patil
One of Mandy's closest female friends. They may not get along all of the time, but she does mean loads to Mandy, there are loads of things that she can only discuss with Padma, and as such she means loads.
Good friends:
Michael Corner
One of Mandy's closest friends. Michael and Mandy get on well, almost as well as Mandy gets on with Roger. There is, however, an underlying tension in their relationship, as Mandy loves to annoy the hell out of Michael and vice versa. Even so he has remained a very close friend, and a person with whom she feels close and can confide in.
Terry Boot
He is her first love and crush. Although she is now not certain about her feelings for him since things ended with Ryan, he has remained a very close friend, and a person with whom she confides with most of her secrets.
Stephen Cornfoot
Kevin Entwhislte

Among her friends:
Orla Quirke
Mandy and Orla didn't know each other until recently as Orla was a few years younger and in her brother's class, but she does think that Orla is loads of fun. She's also quite smart, and Mandy has found it fun to try and get her involved in Quidditch and other things.

Lisa Turpin
Morag MacDougal
Quin Bradley
Among her acquaintances:
Beliefs involving friendship: Mandy sincerely loves her friends. When with her friends, Mandy tends to be very friendly and outspoken. She thinks that having friends is very important, although does not think that social lives are rreally all they're cracked up to be. For Mandy, to have mates is very good. She feels that having one really good friend is far better than a million of unknown faces.

Note: Pictured are the people who play a role in Mandy's life, whom she sees more than once a year.
Pictures:
John Voight = Henry Brocklehurst
Helen Mirren = Ina Brocklehurst
Mads Mikkelsen = Alexander Brocklehurst
Bebe Neuwirth = Daniella Brocklehurst
jonathan Taylor Thomas = Daniel Brocklehurst
Macaulay Culkin = Matt Brocklehurst
Anna Chlumsky = Anna Brocklehurst
Kate Walsh = Nicole Brocklehurst
Getty girl = Amy Palmer

Family

Parents: Daniella Brocklehurst Knig (German Pureblood) & Alexander William Brocklehurst (English half-blood born w/o magical powers)
Siblings: Daniel (18; Ravenclaw c/o 2001), Matt and Anna (16; Ravenclaw c/o 2003)
Grandparents: Henry & Ina Brocklehurst
Aunts and Uncles: Jane Williams & Edward Brocklehurst, Nicole Brocklehurst & Richard Palmer
Cousins: Michael (23) Mark (22) Lynnete (19), Amy Palmer (12; Hufflepuff c/o 2007), Maggie (15; Ravenclaw c/o 2004) Peter (10)
Relationships with parents:
Daniella Brocklehurst; mother
Mandy hadn't had a very close relationship with her parents since she started at Hogwarts. She rarely sees them and so she no longer feels very attached to them. She does, however, prefer her father. Her mother is very strict, and has always expected the best out of her eldest, making her do more chores than the rest of her children. Mandy hates that her mother babies the rest of the kids, and although she does, sort of, love her mother. In general, Mandy really does miss her parents. She wishes she could see them more often, although part of her is afraid her mum would irritate her to death.

Alexander Brocklehurst; father
Mandy's relationship with her father's a different thing. She's always been a daddy's girl, so the pair get along well. Unfortunately for Mandy, Alexander is very protective of his little girl. Alexanders also considerably more quiet, and easier going than Daniella, and as such Mandys father does not have quite the presence her mother does.
Relationships with other relatives:
Daniel Brocklehurst; younger brother 18 years old
Mandy's mortal enemy. She really does love the lad, but he gets on her nerves more often than not. The two of them generally go at each other, and have a sort of unspoken prank-war. Its usually good natured fun, where Daniel does something to Mandy who then retaliates. Deep down, however, Mandy would truly be there for her brother, should he need her. When younger, and especially whilst at Hogwarts, Mandy and Daniel were quite good at driving each other batty. Since graduation, both have calmed considerably, as they do not see each other as much, but the rivalry is still there.

Anna Brocklehurst; younger sister 16 years old
When Anna was younger, she was incredibly outspoken, and generally loved following Mandy around. Mandy loved having her younger sister looking up to her, and did her very best to be a good role model. She loves her dearly, and does her best to help her when she needs it, making sure than Anna knows that Mandy's there for her.
Matt Brocklehurst; younger brother 17 years old
Mandy generally don't get on very well with matt. This isn't due to clashing personalities, but rather because Matthew is a very shy, much more so than his twin sister. Mandy doesn't mind too much, especially as she doesnt see him very often as he is still at Hogwarts with Anna. She does, however, try to talk to him as much as possible when at home.

Nicole Brocklehurst; Aunt
Aunt Nic is Mandy's favourite relative. Since she was very tiny, Nicole Brocklehurst Palmer has been a constant presence in her eldest brother's children's lives. Mandy, in turn, loves her energetic, outspoken aunt as she's always got something interesting to say. She's was married to Richard Palmer, a wizard and lives in Bath for five years. He left her in 1997, and since then Nicole has gone back to using her maiden name.

Amy Palmer; cousin 13
Since both Nicole and her husband are witches, Nicole pops in often over the summer to visit Mandy and her siblings with Amy in tow. Amys 9 years younger than Mandy, and although she adores her cousin, the two have very little in common, though Mandy did babysit often enough after graduation.

Mandy has 5 other cousins and 2 other set of aunts and uncles on her father's side. Whilst she likes this family, Mandy doesnt see them often enough to form a valid opinion on any of them. Mark And Michael (24 and 25) however, have always done a good job of teasing Mandy on the rare occasions (generally Christmas) that she does see them.

On her mother's side, Mandy had 6 sets of aunts and uncles and twenty cousins. She's never met most of this family, aside from her brief visit to Germany in 1997. She is related to Michael Knig, chaser for the German National Team
Thoughts on family in general: Mandy thinks that family's a very important thing in a person's life, that it is something essential to helping a person grow.

At Hogwarts

House: Ravenclaw
Accomplishments: Mandy feels that her long standing relationship is an accomplishment and while she hasn't attained much as of late, she feels that she's working very hard to attain her dream of becoming a curse beaker.
Attitude about school: Mandy loves school, it is her second home because it contain her friends, who are really her second family. She also believes that schooling is a very important part of every person's life.
Best Subjects: Charms, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, History of Magic, and Potions
Worst Subjects: COMC in 3-5th year; Herbology all seven years
Extra-curricular activities: Arithmancy & Charms clubs, Quidditch
Behavior/manner at school: Mandy studies very hard at school. She wants to complete her education with excellent marks in order to be the best person she can be. When not working hard, Mandy spent loads of time at the pitch. She simply adores Quidditch and therefore did her best, in hopes of ensuring that Ravenclaw could win the Cup!

O.W.L. She is also snarky to people who are not at her intellectual level, although she does try and be nice... usually. When writing, Mandy tends to chew on the back of quills which is why she always writes with sugar quills.

Favourites

Colours: blue and purple
Foods: sugar quill, German dishes, fish and chips
Drinks: water and butterbeer
Quidditch team: Holyhead Harpies
Music genre: alternative, light rock and some pop
Bands (or composers): no one in particular; favourite son is Madly Truly Deeply by Savage Garden
Book: Pride and Prejudice
Place: the Scottish moors

Least Favourites

People: No one in particular, though she tends not to like giggly, girly sort. She also finds stupid people incredibly annoying.
Characteristics: Mandy absolutely hates intolerance.
Animals: lizards
Colours: grey and neon pink
Foods: anything with cherries
Drinks: beer
Quidditch team: Chudley Cannons
Music genre: metal, rap
Bands (or composers): none in particular
Book: none
Place: Herbology classroom

Abilities

Musical instruments: none
Athletic ability: quite a good Chaser; trains herself very hard to stay in shape, and because Roger could be a rather tough captain. Since graduation, Mandy's made a habit of running on a daily basis.
Cooking: She's... decent. Although there is a running joke among her mates that her biscuits could kill a person. She's generally quite good about the jokes.
Languages: English, German (native)

Beliefs

Politics: very liberal
Miracles: Yes
Love at first sight: Not really
Premarital relations: she's never had a reason to think about it. Although she wouldn't think less of a man or woman who had sex before marriage.
Drugs: believes that they shouldn't be illegal, but would never take them
Gender equality: Absolutely. Mandy is very much for equality between men and women, as she feels women are quite capable of doing anything men can.
Homosexuality: she doesn't entirely support it, but is certain that she would support any of her friends if they were gay
The War:Mandy really hates it, especially since she's never seen much of a point to blood purity. To make matters worse, many of Mandys close friends have muggle parentage of some sort (Terrys a muggleborn, and Roger, Mike and Stephie are halfbloods). However, she's read and heard what the Order is capable of, and she's not so sure she likes what the Orders become.
Lord Voldemort: She understands why Voldemort and his followers behave the way they do, but as a student and lover of history, she knows what can become of tyrannical societies, and if afraid of what the future may hold.

History [1980-1991]

Family History:
Daniella König came from a long line of German pureblood wizards. The family owns a large Manor near Ramsen, Germany, where Julia and Lukas Knig raised their six children. Daniella was the youngest of four girls, and due to her lack of a dowry, was taught from a young age to do thing for herself. After having studied in the German Wizarding School in the Black Forest, Daniella moved to Berlin, where she worked for the German Ministry of Magic. There she met Alexander Brocklehurst.

Alexander Brocklehurst was born near Accrington, Lancastershire where his family has lived throughout time. His father, Henry, married muggle Ina MacCay of Scotland, and the pair raised their three sons and one daughter as normal as possible. Nicole and Alexander's brother Charles proved to have magical abilities, and attended Hogwarts like their father. Alexander finished his education locally and attended Lancaster University, after which he moved to London, to work for the English ministry. It was on a trip to Germany that her met Daniella. He fell instantly in love, but it took several trips back to Germany, to convince her. They were married a year after having met, and Alexander transferred to the local government in Leeds where he and Daniella moved. Three years later Mandy was born.

Personal History:
Mandy was born December 1st, 1979 and was the pride and joy of her parents. As the first-born, Danielle took good care of the girl, watching her like a hawk. Alexander was the ever doting father and loved playing with his little girl, showering her with attention. Although a bright child, Mandy's magical abilities did not begin to show until about her brother's birth, before there had been small signs, mere coincidences where a biscuit would go missing or the spoon of mashed peas would suddenly drop to the floor, but a few months after Daniel was born she showed undeniable signs. Mandy had been throwing a tantrum for not being allowed to hold Daniel, when right before her parents' eyes, the crib unlatched its sides and Mandy was lifted up into it; within seconds, the little girl was cradling the little boy. Watching the three year old closely, Alexander and Daniela allowed her to hold her little brother, though they couldn't be happier to know that Mandy was indeed a witch.

Like other children in Britain, Mandy started to attend her local primary school at the age of four. A quiet and shy little girl, Mandy found it hard to make friends. Of course this really never seemed to matter all too much to Mandy, who seemed more than content to play alone with her block, or puzzles. At home, however, she watched over little Daniel and began to care for him quite a bit. A few years later, in the summer of Mandy's 6th year, her twin siblings were born. From the minute Mandy set her eyes on little Anna and Matt after her mother brought them home from the hospital, she fell in love. While she cared for Daniel, Mandy loved to spend time with the twins, especially her only sister. With Daniel, she had been slightly jealous that her more than three years as an only child were over. By the time Matt and Anna were born, she was quite used to the idea. This, however, did not prepare Mandy for Daniel's change in behaviour, to annoy his sister he had managed to exchange Mandy's lollipop with a real pencil mid-bite so she was munching on wood in the middle of class. Mandy paid him back by gluing his favourite toys to the ceiling. This escalated from there becoming a full-out prank war by the time Mandy turned eight.

At the age of six, whilst visiting her grandmother and grandfather in Scotland, Mandy saw her first Quidditch match. That summer, Mandy had gone out wandering by her, having escaped her grandmother's grasp, deciding to pick wildflowers. As she climbed one of the moors, Mandy could see off in the distance her grandparents' neighbours flying up in the air, tossing a ball around. Mandy was immediately sucked in, and I was there two hours later that her distraught grandmother found her; staring at the players off in the distance. Her grand mum's neighbours (the McDonalds) were flying in their own property when Mandy had seen them a ways off (they were located several acres away). Two days later her grandfather bought Mandy her first toy broom, and Mandy has been obsessed ever since. Mandy had found it incredibly fascinating and had then begun to beg her grandparents for a broom. They, being the kind to spoil their granddaughter, immediately bought her a toy broom and her grandfather happily taught her. Although she wasn't permitted to actually fly about, the broom did allow Mandy to float a few feet off the ground, which allowed her to get used to the idea of actually flying. To her dismay, because her parent's home was in a muggle area, Mandy could not fly at home, and so used the time she spent at her grandparents' home each summer to improve herself.

When Mandy finally turned eleven, her parents began to anxiously await that letter. Alexander hoped she would go to his father's school, while Danielle would have wanted her to go to her own alma mater. Mandy already excelled at her muggle school; her passion for reading and learning had well been noted and in spite of her shy nature a lot of her primary teachers held her as their star pupil. Finally, to her parent's relief in the summer of 1991, Mandy received two letter one for Hogwarts and another for Durmstrang. While Danielle had taught her daughter German and knew she would do well at Durmstrang, she knew well that Mandy (who had yet to attend a German school) would be more comfortable at Hogwarts. Therefore that is where she would go.

History at Hogwarts [1992-1999]

Once September 1st 1991 arrived, Mandy became nervous. She had only wanted to learn how to become a real witch but would really miss Angie and Robbie who were heading off to the nearest secondary school; shed been forced to lie to them, telling them that her parents were sending her to a boarding school up in Scotland . The goodbyes were tearful and Mandy became quite afraid when the Express arrived. Her parents had surprised her with several new books and a beautiful new Horned owl to appease Mandy and get her aboard the train. There she met Lisa Turpin with whom she became quick friends and in their little compartment they also met the Patil twins. Mandy felt at ease among these girls and hoped that they would be placed in the same house. To her relief Lisa and Padma became Ravenclaws like herself.

In that same year, she met Roger Davies. He was a boy just two year older than Mandy who had taken a liking to the girl, helping her get settled in school. Towards the end of that school year, Mandy began talking to the other little boy who would play a very important role in her life: Terry Boot. Mandy would still be very close to Padma and Lisa, even Vati in some ways, but she would be closest to Roger. She and Roger shared everything, helping the girl become more than just a bookworm. He was an incredibly popular boy and Mandy had always felt special that he cared for her. Roger showed her athletic side (supporting her love for Quidditch and even giving her and alternate position on the team when he became captain in her fourth year.) as well as her mischievous side. His friend and roommates Ryan Chambers and Eddie Carmichaels incredibly wicked streak also helped quite a bit. With Terry she revealed her love for history, books and all written work. They would often spend hours just reading together in the library or common room. Mandy especially adored history, particularly wizarding history of the middle ages, though she had a soft spot for muggle history as well.

With her girlfriends Mandy finally began to realize her feminine side; although she had never particularly cared for clothes or makeup, she did like to occasionally dress up to feel pretty. When her brother Daniel arrived at Hogwarts during her fourth year, Mandy became more outgoing. Previously she would often sit in her room, talking to one of the girls and occasionally Parvati who would stop by to visit or talk with Roger and Terry in the common room. Shed never had much in common with Parvati but tolerated her nonetheless. With Daniels appearance, Mandy began to prank him a lot more, often with the help of Ryan or Eddie, who seemed more than pleased to lend a hand. Among others, she also favoured a spell that could turn the flavours of sugar quills to one similar to pepper imps. It took her ages, but she was quite proud.

In that same year Mandy developed a deep crush on Terry. She, of course, could not share this, but had told Roger who had tried to convince her to tell her friend. Mandy refused and became quite adept at keeping her secret. She thought it would be awkward fancying someone who merely thought of her as another 'bloke', and knew that she would only ridicule herself by telling him. At the end of that year, the Hufflepuff Cedric died at the Triwizarding Tournament; Mandy was scared but was barely affected as she hadnt ever met the bloke. She did, however, see the deep affect it had n Cho, one of her friends, and was rather concerned. Over the summer, she like many of her friends read the many articles on the insanity of Harry Potter. Mandy believed them, and worried about the poor boy, thinking he had some sort of condition.

Upon returning to Hogwarts for her fifth year, Mandy wasnt sure about Harry, but soon came to believe in his story. While she didnt attend the DA meetings, Mandy did spend a lot of time studying DADA on her own time in order to improve her own abilities, one of the few things she enjoyed under the evil reign of Umbridge. Luckily, as a Ravenclaw, Mandy faired far better than the Gryffindors under Umbridge, although she had never much cared for the woman. It made for a rather difficult year in relation to her school work.

In the beginning of her sixth year, Mandy began to develop feelings for her friend and fellow prankster Ryan Bradley; she still had feelings for Terry but realized that they just were not meant to be. In November 1996, determined to get over Terry, Mandy soon began to date Ryan. It turned out that this was one of the best decisions she'd ever made, as Mandy loved being with Ryan. They got along quite well, and could spend hours together just enjoying each other's company. As it was his final year, Mandy dreaded the end of the school year. However, Ryan's graduation was soon overshadowed by the death of Albus Dumbledore. Completely shocked, Mandy could scarcely believe what had happened that evening. Dumbledore's death seemed to be the catalyst that made the war very real for the students of Hogwarts, who up until that point seemed rather secluded at school; as such, Mandy started her summer with the very real fear that she may not ever see the school or her friends again.

Horoscope [Sagittarius]

Ravenclaw Sagittarians are the philosophers of the magical world. They love pure theory, pure mathematics, and anything that appeals to their yearning for far horizons, whether those horizons be physical (in which case they will do a lot of travelling) or mental. They excel at astrology and research, and have the rare gift of both being able to investigate a subject deeply and then being able to explain it to other people in plain language. This makes for excellent teaching potential. They are cheerful, athletic, brisk, and humorous, and also decidedly eccentric. Sometimes they get on people's nerves, because they don't have as many interpersonal skills as they seem to think they have, but it's hard to stay mad at a Ravenclaw Sagittarius for very long. They're just too goofy.
((Information attained here))

Userinfo Font ~ Mandys Font

Need to know what your character would, or would not know about Mandy? In the classroom and about the common room, Mandy is usually the one in the back of the class, or in the corner of her room, quietly reading the text, or scribbling notes to herself as she sucks on the back of the quill. On the Quidditch field, however, Mandy may come off as a far more determined, as she does her very best to ensure a Ravenclaw victory.

The most one factor she finds most aggravating is stupidity and to an extent ignorance.

When thinking, Mandy tends to chew on the end of her quills, which is why she always has to ensure that she has several quills on hand, lest she end up spitting out feather bits. She also has a penchant for trashy romance novels, though only Lisa actually knows about that, she's highly embarrassed of the fact considering the sort of books her peers read. When nervous, Mandy will chew on her lower lip and blush slightly, as well as tug on her hair, when she'd lying however, Mandy will shift from one foot to the other, or tap her fingers nervously on her desk or thigh. She also tends to stammer and blush profusely when blokes compliment her, making short work of most attempts to flirt. That is, assuming she realized that someone is flirting with her.

HISTORY:
I realize that this includes a lot of other characters; for which I apologize. If you would like me to write people out, or to modify it in any manner, I would be more than happy to do so.

Daniela König came from a long line of German pureblood wizards. The family owns a large Manor near Ramsen, Germany, where Julia and Lukas König raised their six children. Daniela was the youngest of four girls, and due to her lack of a dowry, was taught from a young age to do thing for herself.

It was on a trip to Germany that her met Daniela. He fell instantly in love, but it took several trips back to Germany, to convince her. They were married a year after having met, and Alexander transferred to the local government in Leeds where he and Daniela moved. Three years later Mandy was born.

At the age of nine, whilst visiting her grandmother and grandfather in Scotland, Mandy saw her first Quidditch match. Her grand mum's neighbours (the MacDonalds) were flying in their own property when Mandy had seen them a ways off (they were located several acres away) and had run over to get a closer look.

Alexander hoped she would go to his father's school, while Danielle would have wanted her to go to her school. While Daniela had taught her daughter German and knew she would do well at Durmstrang, she knew well that Mandy (who had yet to attend a German school) would be more comfortable at Hogwarts. Therefore that is where she would go.

The closer to September 1st 1991 it got, the more nervous Mandy became. As much as she loved the idea of becoming a witch, of being just like her mum, Mandy was more than a little scared. This would be a new world for her, she's never been around magical children save her cousins, and now she'd have to meet loads and loads of people. Not to mention having to share a bedroom with people she'd never known before. Therefore it would come to no surprise that the goodbyes were tearful and Mandy became quite afraid when the Express arrived. Before she boarded, however, her parents had surprised her with several new books and a beautiful new Horned owl to appease Mandy and get her actually aboard the train. It was on this train ride that Mandy met another shy little girl and her twin sister. With six hours in which to get acquainted, Mandy actually found herself talking much more than she was used to, and soon felt at ease among these girls and hoped that they would be placed in the same house. To her grand relief Padma became a Ravenclaw like herself. She'd made a friend.

In that same year, she met Roger Davies. He was a boy just two year older than Mandy who had taken a liking to the girl, helping her get settled in school. Although Mandy would still be very close to Padma and the other girls in room, she would be closest to Roger. More than just a friend, Roger was someone with whom Mandy connected quite well. He was the first person to take a personal interest in the quiet little bookworm, helping the girl become more than just another quiet Ravenclaw. He was an incredibly popular boy and Mandy had always felt special that he cared for her, it was through Roger that Mandy became more involved in Quidditch. He'd help her practice when he had time, and even give her and alternate position on the team when he became captain in her third year as she began to prove her potential. The more time she spent with Roger, the better she got to know his friends, particularly Ryan Bradley and Eddie Carmichael, who often indulged in breaking the rules. It was with them that Mandy began . With Padma, Mandy could still indulge in her studious side, as she revealed her love for history, books and all written work. They would often spend hours just reading together in the library or common room. Mandy especially adored history, particularly wizarding history of the middle ages, though she had a soft spot for muggle history as well.

With the rest of her girlfriends Mandy eventually began to realize her feminine side; although she had never particularly cared for clothes or make-up. With Daniel's appearance, Mandy began to prank him a lot more, often with the help of Ryan or Eddie, who seemed more than pleased to lend a hand. Among others, she also favoured a spell that could turn the flavours of sugar quills to one similar to pepper imps. It took her ages, but she was quite proud.

In that same year Mandy developed a deep crush on Terry, which was not helped in the least when he asked her to the Yule Ball. She, of course, could not share this, but had told Roger who had tried to convince her to tell her friend. Thinking it would be awkward fancying someone who merely thought of her as another 'bloke', Mandy was convinces that she would only ridicule herself by telling him. Instead, she threw herself into cheering for Cedric, eagerly watching the different Tasks he had to face. Although she'd never had a problem with Harry, Mandy didn't feel right rooting him on, as she, like most of her friends, were convinced he'd snuck his name in somehow. At the end of that year, when Harry emerged holding Cedric's body, Mandy was more than a little scared. Although she hadn't known Cedric, it was obvious the deep affect it had on Cho, and was therefore rather concerned.

Upon returning to Hogwarts for her fifth year, Mandy wasn't entirely sure about Harry's story. She'd read and seen many different articles of Harry potter, and didn't personally know him well enough in order to be able to determine their validity. If anything, they concerned her, and part of her hoped that Harry would seek professional help. As the year began, and time passed, however, it became quite obvious to Mandy that perhaps the Prophet hadn't been as accurate as she had though. Though she did begin to believe Harry, Mandy had never been advised of the DA, and so was stuck with listening to Umbridge and copying text in order to improve her DADA skills.

Dumbledore's death seemed to be the catalyst that made the war very real for the students of Hogwarts, who up until that point seemed rather secluded at school; as such, Mandy started her summer with the very real fear that she may not ever see the school or her friends again.

samples.
FIRST PERSON SAMPLE:
I think I'm tired of school. I just spent five hours on my Potions essay, and well, nothing against the course but I think I have had just about enough now. Thank Merlin tomorrow's Sunday. Unfortunately I have nothing at all to do tomorrow, so I will more than likely be really bored by noon. That being said, it hasn't actually stopped me from working. After all, I have to make certain to keep up with my coursework, Merlin know I cannot afford to get horrible grades for NEWTs next year. And then there's Quidditch; even if we aren't playing.

I mean who knows if this will all end today or tomorrow nor next month. I know technically Hogwarts has finished, and that yes, the real world will be different, but I have will always want to play, even if it is just bothering Roger to let me fly on the Magpies' pitch.

[Private]

I feel kind of... left out I suppose. I dunno why really, although I suppose it's because I've been rather alone lately. Roger's often off with some girl or another; Su's all over that Hufflepuff, and Padma's been all over Stephen for ages. And Lisa, I dunno what's going on with her, or Morag for that matter. I guess I should stop spending so much time in the library, but then there's nothing to do in our room or the common room either.

I guess I shouldn't be jealous... but I can't really help it. What if I never get a boy...I should go to bed or something. I'm starting to sound like Brown. I really shouldn't bloody matter to me at all if blokes don't find me attractive. <s>even though it really does</s>

THIRD PERSON SAMPLE:
Mandy sighed softly and ran her fingers through her hair in frustration as she stretched out on the sofa in the Ravenclaw Common Room. She'd completed all of her coursework, not only for the week but for the entire month as well, well over an hour ago and had since been trying to read some silly fiction novel for her own diversion. Unfortunately, it was not going as well as she'd hoped. Mandy found that she could not concentrate at all, and found herself rather bored and sick of her surroundings. It wasn’t so much the Ravenclaw Common Room in particular that was bothering her, rather the recent monotony in her routine. After several attempts at continuing with the novel, Mandy finally earmarked her page and closed the book. She stood, stretching a little to loosen the tense muscles and then headed up to her room to tuck the offending book away. The book really wasn’t the issue, after all, it was her favorite epoch and had been fairly interesting up until that morning; no it seemed to be more of a general sense or restlessness than anything else.

Once up in the seventh year girl’s dormitory, Mandy’s eyes scanned the room in hopes of finding one of her roommates, but no one was to be seen. Though momentarily disheartened, she smile softly as her eyes landed on her broom resting on top of her trunk. Perfect. This would make for a much better afternoon. With her broom tucked under her arm, Mandy quickly walked back into the Common Room and, exiting through the large oak door, practically ran out of the castle. Once outside, she found herself to be too impatient to walk to the Quidditch pitch. Thus, with a furtive look about, Mandy mounted her broom and took off. Mandy zoomed towards the pitch, only a few feet off the ground, and finally rose up in the air once she'd reached her destination. She flew freely for several minutes, without direction, without purpose, simply enjoying being up in the air. Slowly, Mandy could feel her anxiety ebb. Merlin! It felt so good, freeing and generally brilliant to be back up in the air! Flying made everything else seem so trivial in comparison.
