Lex Luthor is nouveau riche, but you don't hear people mention it often. Still, he's perfectly honest and open about having clawed his way up from the gutters of Suicide Slum -- though not always completely open about the techniques he used to do so.
Still, it worked. The former scholarship boy now has his multinational corporation, Lexcorp, funding near-countless scholarships in turn. Certainly more than any of his competitors could ever have dreamed of affording to. He's on top of the world, doing plenty for his fellow man, and engaged to the brightest and most radiant of women. Soon, the world will be theirs and their children's.
