There's really nothing quite like waking up at 5 in the morning, taking a shower, going to work, and being greeted by a 7 month old Swedish Short-Snout with a cold.

One sneeze later, I was back in the shower. I'm going to have to invest in more shampoo. And maybe an umbrella. Or a poncho.

This is the first time in a long while where I'll actually be home for Christmas. I think Cali's old enough now to appreciate it, so I'm looking forward to watching her face light up as we help her tear open her gifts. If I know my sister, she'll probably get excited just playing with the wrapping paper.

As far as I know I'll be in Belfast until January, which means I'll also be home for New Years. I was in Bulgaria last year, so I'm going to need some suggestions on how to welcome 1985.

[Nora]

It's been a while since you've yelled at me for not informing you about any new hatchlings. Should I be concerned?

[/Nora]

A wild dragon flew into a residential muggle area in Waterford this afternoon. There's nothing quite like trying to get a full grown Ridgeback to cooperate. Stubborn beasts, they are. Unfortunately there were a few casualties involved - it landed in the middle of a road and set fire to a few of their transportation vehicles. We had to call someone in to wipe their memories - never have been too good at memory charms, myself.

Now I think they believe their loved ones were involved in some inexplicable freak accident. I don't know which is worse.

Got to work this morning to discover that not one, not two, but three baby Short-Snouts had escaped. Apparently some genius forgot to lock them up.

Because locking up dragons is something that just slips ones mind, apparently.

Took 5 of us to get the bloody things back into their cage, and 2 sets of eyebrows were scorched off in the process. I am happy to say that I came through unscathed.

Poor little buggers looked miserable - the dragons that is, though my hairless co-workers looked equally unhappy. I put some extra brandy in with their blood as a peace offering.
