<s>In light of recent events, I have</s>
<s>It's all happened so quic</s>
<s>Why would Draco</s>
<s>I don't have to explain myself to the likes of</s>

I suppose it's -- a shock, really, that we've gone and lost Draco to the government. He was the backbone of Slytherin for anyone with pride in our house, and I ... I'm quite disappointed. I don't like having things sprung onto me, and I think I have every right to be outraged, insulted, and utterly shocked.

I'm here to tell everyone in Slytherin that it's

It's going to be all right. We shall pick up the pieces and move on, and I just

I don't know. It's so dreadfully, terribly stupid. Lord knows I wasn't quite Dumbledore's favourite, but I should like to have it cleared, here and now, that I will not stand for any conspiracy theories about this. If you have something to say, you may take it up with me. I am going to address any prying twits very clearly and directly: Draco was not the one who shot Dumbledore. Don't ask me how I know; you may chalk it up to knowing him for years -- and knowing him well, which is more than I can say for most of you. He is innocent, and he shall be released.

Moreover, Draco is not an idiot. He must have known about the risks, he was always so thorough with things. There is a second hand involved here, even a third one, and if I hear any tosh about this validating the stereotype of Slytherins being amateur murderers, you shall have me to deal with -- and I assure you, I am a force to be reckoned with. Keep your filthy, accusing fingers away from our faces until you have the facts. I don't care how long it takes to find out what these facts are.

I suppose that's all. I don't think I owe anyone an explanation, nor do I owe anyone an apology. I am here to defend Draco and Slytherin as a house. We had nothing to do with this, and as we're all sufficiently disturbed by these events, I strongly suggest that the lot of you refrain from adding to the fire. The matter is entirely out of anyone's hands -- except the government's -- and we, all of us, will have to wait.
