Gideon Charles Prewett

• Position: Chaser for Hufflepuff Quidditch.

• Appearance: When Gideon was just a boy Molly told him that he was going to grow up to be a heartbreaker. His bright blue eyes and irresistible smile are the first thing that most people notice about him. His whole face seems to light up when he smiles and it’s hard to look at him without smiling. He keeps his blonde hair shaggy and unruly, something that his mother and sister both loathe. His extensive hours training for Quidditch have helped him maintain a muscular frame. He’ll dress himself up on special occasions but he prefers jeans and comfortable shirts.

Life at the Prewett home was never dull and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Richard worked in the Department of Magical Transportation at the Ministry and Rachel stayed at home and took care of the house and the children. Molly was the first born and is quite a bit older than the two boys, thus a perfect target for harassment. The Prewett brothers were forever pestering their older sister and they almost met their death a few times because of it. At the end of the day it was all in good fun and the love and warmth of the family was undeniable.

The boys were so similar growing up it was almost difficult to tell the two apart. If Fabian started a sentence it was almost certain that Gideon would finish it. The twins were joined at the hip throughout most of their childhood, constantly plotting and planning. They were never quite as intense as their eventual nephews, but the Prewett twins did have a few pranks that they considered to be particularly ingenious.

As they grew older they seemed to start developing into independent people, though they remained very close. Gideon discovered his love for Quidditch when he was younger but it intensified when he was able to go to an actual stadium for a game when he was eight. Fabian tends to express himself with words and he finds escape through books and studies.

Gideon chose to channel his energies in a different way. He knew that he would play Quidditch at Hogwarts and he tried out every year until he was finally good enough to join up. That was his fourth year. When he’s not socializing or training he can usually be found in one of the many Hogwarts greenhouses. Gideon loves plants. He finds them calming and if one was to sneak up on him hard at work they might hear a few one-sided conversations that he would almost certainly deny ever having.

Another outlet for Gideon is food. He comes from a large family and holidays were almost always a production and a half. Everyone would gather in one home, bringing everything from wines and champagnes, main courses, and rich and perfect desserts. Certain foods remind him of home and his family and he really enjoys the school feasts because of the holiday resemblance.

• Personality: At first glance it would seem that Gideon is nothing more than the typical good looking Quidditch player. Quidditch was and still is one of Gideon’s passions but it is far from the definition of who he is. Just one conversation with the boy would reveal a bright mind and an electric personality that is infectious. You feel like you could open up to him without a second thought and you never worry that what you’ve told him might slip on to someone else.

Gideon is the exact definition of a people person. He was that kid in the store that would randomly walk up to a stranger and start talking like they’d been a family friend for years and he never grew out of it. He likes to have a good time and he’s not completely happy until everyone else around him is having a good time as well.

Gideon does have a serious side, though he very rarely shows it off. He likes people to think that he is carefree but he tends to worry. He’s very protective of the people he loves. His friends and family mean more to him than anything and he would go above and beyond for them. Though he isn’t one for books and rigorous study he has been brushing up on the Dark Arts and how to combat them. He never lets anyone know what he’s studying when he hides himself in the library, not because he’s shy but because he doesn’t want unnecessary worrying.

He enjoys social events, whether they be official school happenings or a small gathering put together by himself. Gideon is a bit of a partier, though school tends to put a damper on his ways of celebrating. Outside of school he drinks a bit with buddies and cousins, occasionally taking it upon himself to smoke a bit of pot with his more rebellious family members.
