When she is at a game, her hair is pulled into a perfect ponytail with perfectly spiraled curls. Her appearance is very important to her. Her nails are always perfectly manicured with a classy french manicure style. Her clothes are ironed and pressed the night before. WEAKNESSES: Holds a grudge, not very trustworthy, catty, manipulative. DETAILED PERSONALITY: Most people don't know how to handle Maggie. Most of the time she doesn't know how to be anything other than the daughter of a Holland. There have always been certain expectations and rules. One, don't do anything to make the family look bad. She knew if she ever came home pregnant and she wasn't married...well she would see a much different side to her parents. She was expected to behave but she eventually learned to appear as though she behaved. Maggie was never the good girl that her mother was. She wasn't all about being completely prim and proper. She knew how to have fun and Mark is the person she usually let down that barrier with. She has a few close girlfriends that she can be that way with too but never anyone she trusted completely with her weaknesses. Girls were catty and manipulative (just as she herself was) and she knew that any of her secrets could be used against her. From an early age her mother educated her on the public eye and always keeping up appearances. You never get emotional or let people affect you. This is something she has worked hard at. Sometimes though, on rare occasions, she can't quite grasp onto that reserve or control. People don't realize it when they look at Maggie but she can be devious, manipulative and sneaky. Unless you are a victim of this you probably still think that she is the sunshiny, perfect, sweet, princess. After all that is exactly how she portrays herself to be in the public eye. She is very aware of setting, public appearances. She's had to deal with them all of her life so if she is going to create a scene it will be calculated and chosen properly. She knows how to school her face, her reactions and her tears on command. She is often going out for parts in the school plays. She knows how to make it look real and believable too. Partly why she can be so convincing to her friends and peers. She could make you believe that the sky is green and the grass is blue. Maggie can be very nice and schmooze with the best. She can be really nice to you, if you are on her level of course. She isn't nice to everyone. People that her parents have connections with are who she will tolerate and act nicely with, at least to their face. She might have other thoughts and opinions that she knows enough to keep to herself. You don't alienate people that might one day be useful. You only burn bridges when you are positive you won't be needing them later. HISTORY: Frederick Holland followed his fathers footsteps into politics. The Hollands are a family of old money. They've been rich for generations and each generation just builds on the fortune that was already there. To say that Frederick and his younger brother was spoiled would be a gross understatement. They were given everything and anything. If they showed the slightest interest or desire, then they were given it. If it made them look better, then their parents gave it to them. Frederick's parents set him up with Elizabeth Percy who was very desired and very wealthy. She was a good girl who followed all the rules and the proper etiquette. She never spoke out of turn or used inappropriate language, she never acted in a way that ladies shouldn't act. She was perfect by societal standards. While it was never a match made on love originally, it had become that eventually. They had only one child that they named Magdalena Anne Holland. She was given the best of everything. The best education, the best toys, the most expensive clothes and jewelry. Maggie never wanted for a thing growing up. She had all of her parents attention since she didn't have a sibling to share it with. She never wanted for affection either. They always took care of and showed their daughter how much they loved her. She was their only child and they spoiled her as such. Maggie was always putting time into her studies. She's gotten to do a few things for herself so long as they didn't take away from her school work. From the time she was a toddler she was in gymnastics, dance and theater and she followed them to the present. She's added a few things along the way, such as piano. Maggie is a girl that is often considered a serious threat because she is beautiful, very talented and her family is very influential. She enjoys that most people are intimidated by her. And that people very rarely say no to her. Maggie was the youngest freshman on the varsity cheerleading squad. She was never overly attached to the idea of being a cheerleader but her mother put it in perspective. It was a position, especially if she earned the title of captain that would earn her respect, privilege and esteem from her peers. Being on the squad gave her certain advantages over the other children, besides her very obvious privileged upbringing. She had a long term boyfriend from the middle of sophomore year of high school to the summer before junior year. At some point though it just wasn't for her anymore. Rather than telling him that though, she slept with someone else at a party when he was away for spring break. She couldn't help it. She'd always thought Mark was hot and he was there and he seemed to know exactly how to kiss her and touch her. Could she really be blamed for not pushing him away? Only, she decided that she wasn't going to tell her boyfriend. He was away. It didn't really…well, she didn't really see why it should count or she should tell him. Except even when he came home it didn't stop and she couldn't bring herself to end it. Why should she though? She had her cake and she was eating it too. Eventually though he broke up with her. And he'd done it publicly. Two things that really pissed Maggie off. After that she made it her personal mission to make his life miserable and sometimes she does that to his girlfriends just for fun. OOC Info |
