activity!·
UPDATE LIMIT: 4 Weeks - Short updates are allowed as often as you like, even every day if you want! Feel free to have your character post something about their day or some random thoughts. As long as there is an update of substance (we're not talking novel-length, but no one-liners, youtube videos, etc.) once every four weeks.
If you join with examples in lieu of a first entry, you are required to update by the end of a 2 week period.·
AIM is not required, but if you're not going to be on AIM, then you must be commenting and posting in sub communities to show your activity and make yourself available for interaction. Once you give us an AIM name you are not allowed to change it for at least 6 months unless AIM refuses to sign on beyond your efforts. We also suggest you give it a couple days if this is the case, as the problem may be temporary.
·
DEADWEIGHT: The Agents define "deadweight" as those clients who are not active in
any area on a
regular basis: this means you are
not noticeable in the community through commenting, posting, or updating,
or through AIM (if you have an AIM), and do not regularly update your friends list. The Agents do pay attention to who is around, and we are very open to communication if you are busy and cannot participate in any capacity. However, if we do not hear from you except through last minute updates, we reserve the right to drop you from our client list after at least a two week period of no activity. We adhere to the idea that if you are interested in the Agency, we will not have to police you.
·
OVERRIDES: You may apply to override an existing member if they fall into the Deadweight category. The Agents will assess if current members are Deadweights and let you know.
( MORE FUN FEATURES! )·
Remember to comment, comment, comment! Be friendly and welcoming to everyone. You know how much you enjoy getting comments, so does everyone else. Be active and most of all have fun.
· Here at
creativeartists, we put the focus on good writing and characterization with much less dependence on OOC connections. Do not be shy that you don't know anyone OOC; most of us don't either! We encourage feedback from our members in order to make this community progressive, so feel free to drop the Agents comments when you have a concern, a question, or a suggestion.
realism is key!· Please make sure to know a good amount about your celeb and make realistic extrapolations when needed. No one can know everything, of course, but if you're wildly away from your character (or a grown up human being) we'll be able to tell. Pregnancies must last 9 months and all that other stuff you people already know.
the nitty gritty!(we reserve the right to ratify these rules as needed)·
This is a celebrity only community. That means no myspace kids, relatives of celebrities, suicide girls etc. will be accepted. If you're
famous first for the occupation you are in and not because of your association with another celeb (or their show/band/etc), that is a good barometer. If you have a presence on IMDb and/or Wikipedia that
helps though it is not a sole defining factor.
· As always, keep OOC and IC separate. If you have a problem with another player, contact a mod in the
designated post. If you break any rule, you will receive a warning. After that, the mods reserve the right to remove you. We have a lot of understanding for IC drama, but not much for OOC. Be mature.
· Your character's username must only include their name.(1) No excessive underscores. AIM screen names must include either first or last name.
(1) Because GJ no longer allows journal creations, for the interim we will accept journals that are as close as possible to your celebrity's name or has some connection to them. Journals like ~doorhinge won't readily be accepted. All icons must be kept visible if your journal name is a little obscure. · Hiatus length is 3 weeks max. Post your request
here.
· As common courtesy to your fellow community members, please cut-tag large graphics, flash players, as well as video and audio embedding.
· All posts in communities and journals must be FRIENDS LOCKED, save for Friends Only posts. This is to avoid people outside of GJ finding the community and its members, reading posts and asking questions.· Please DO NOT log IP addresses in your journals, as some members take on more than 1 role and understandably do not want to be known. The community itself does not log IPs. The only exception to this is if you want to log ANONYMOUS posts in your FOs.
· Generally, updates are in 1st person, ie:
I had a rough day,
not He had a rough day when you're talking about yourself. Unless your celebrity is purposefully writing a story in their journal entry, referring to yourself in the third person is better left for scenes.
· We reserve the right to remove you from the community if your interaction/updates do not reflect the caliber of your application.
· Pre-existing storylines are more than welcome, just as long as you don't treat the community as a PSL.
· More than one role is allowed in the community, but there is no guarantee of acceptance and all activity requirements should be met regardless. Be aware that the Agents make the best assessment possible out of all available information about your play, and that will include what live interaction we observe. This is, after all, an
interactive endeavor, and while for the most part static writing examples are all we have to go on, that is precisely why we will not ignore what we see if you are already in the community.
·
Do not join any of the subcommunities before you are accepted or you will be removed.
Do not IC comment and/or contact any existing members as if you were already a member until you are accepted. We find that obnoxious and presumptuous. This is not a first come, first serve community, so please do not assume you're accepted unless you receive official notification.
