Wow... that month was both the longest and quickest month ever. I've been picking up people's shifts left and right, and even though I owed them and it sounded like a good idea at the time to agree... ughhhhh. I remember enjoying this time of year a lot more when I was still in school. Cider and hot cocoa can only do so much for me before they start to sabotage my figure.

I uh, wow. I am so boring. A whole month and all I can say is that I finished my first scarf and never plan to let it see the light of day.

It's almost time to carve pumpkins. I can't wait. Never too early to search for the perfect pumpkin, so I'm keeping an eye out. And now it's getting chilly enough, I hope the street vendors will show up with roasted sweet potatoes soon. I could make them but... it's not the same. And warm cider! This time of year is great, although the mornings on EMT duty are starting to get too cold for my tastes.

Also, please, please, please wash your hands. For at least a minute. With warm water and plenty of soap. And cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, preferably with your arm and not your hands. It's getting cooler so everyone's going to be in close quarters, gross. So gross.

I'm trying to be very mature about this and see it in a positive light. Clearly someone cares enough about me to put himself out and spend his free time making sure that I'm safe, which I should be grateful for. He's probably capable in some way I'm not really sure about, and I should be feeling safe and protected. Still... considering that apparently some people don't understand friendship, I really am lucky to have him.

Just, you know, could you possibly not follow me into the bathroom, boned?! I mean seriously! There's no excuse for it. You're on thin ice. Extremely thin. And beneath that thin ice is more than just cold water, just assume that it's much more uncomfortable and hellish than that. Use your imagination -- actually, don't. Also, you still owe me for all the chocolates that judomistress ate.

It's hard to believe it's only been a week. I also cannot believe that someone actually beat Toad's new game so quickly. Am I in some bizarro world where everyone is some kind of super genius but me?? It's frustrating! And I got really behind on it after my really hectic week last week... so I just finished it, but I wasn't really motivated. Luckily, Toad, you make really fun games so it kept me playing -- and, okay, since you can see it anyway, I did use one token. One. Did anyone else actually have trouble with the game except for boned?

My co-workers are driving me insane. I'm putting in for a shift change to get the last few days of my EMT training out of the way, but everyone's treating me like I'm made of glass and it's pissing me off.

boned, judomistress, are you guys free this weekend? Movie night? I'm not taking no for an answer.

I'm giving blood tomorrow at work, which normally isn't a problem. Since I'm O-, my supervisors guilt me about giving blood as often as I can... and they generally let me leave early when I do, so I'm pretty okay with that. ♥ OJ and a cookie, leaving work early? On a Friday no less? I'd donate blood anyway, so it's just a perk.

The only thing is that in light of recent events, they've told me I shouldn't go home alone after giving blood, and if I stay at work long enough to recoup they'll toss me back on the floor... someone want to walk me home~?

As much as I'd like to take my mom's approach to this situation and just avoid the news, I'm too worried about missing something important. Like Chief Namikaze said, it's important to be vigilant right now, but I personally think that it's just as important to be informed. Of course, in light of recent misinformed events... well, jeez, I don't have much of a choice about where I get my news from.

Earlier this week I submitted a request to be switched to EMT training, since they're understaffed on a normal day, let alone if something big happens. The woman in charge of trainees was one of my teachers in trade school, so... fingers crossed. I just don't want to see anyone I know get hurt, and I feel ridiculously useless at the moment.

So, okay, my coffee intake isn't completely nil, and sometimes I don't eat a really healthy dinner, but I've been trying really hard to make my lunches healthy. I think they're looking really cute, too! Just... ignore the fruit snacks and the chocolate. I'm allowed. (There is tuna and mayo inside of the scooped out cherry tomatoes!) Cutting out food into shapes is such a simple way to make everything cuter, plus I get to eat the scraps for breakfast. ♥ Thank you judomistress~.

It's officially summer, so I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. Being more careful like I keep hearing, eating better (as in actually eating breakfast every morning and making filling lunches for work), actually cutting down my coffee intake, and judomistress, sign me up for tai chi! Oh, and I'm gonna start biking to work again. My front tire had a flat and i was too lazy to fix it, but I got it patched up after work yesterday and now I don't have any excuses.

Here's to a good summer!

Okay, okay... I'll admit, I definitely got discouraged and put it aside for a few days after that other person beat it. I know, it was immature and childish of me. But there, I finished it! It was really, really frustrating, but I've already started it over again.

A co-worker forwarded this to me. Well, no, she forwarded me a survey with 200 questions, and I grabbed the first ten. Oops~.

Cornflakes with strawberries, and coffee. ...I know, I know, I just couldn't stay away.

Spicy anything. I just can't handle spicy food... just smelling it makes my eyes sting!

Toad, would you believe that I beat the game in a week?

No? Well, you'd be right. I'm so disappointed!! I even basically did nothing other than play it this entire weekend. I'm at stage 8C and it's killing me. It's probably so obvious and I'm just overlooking it. No hints!! No gloating!!

Work has slowed down, thank goodness, now that the police have handled the KV situation. I'm glad that I was able to do my part.

I picked up some peppermint tea for the first time... it's really good. It's supposed to relieve stress, so let's see if I can swap my addiction over to it rather than coffee.

A friend of mine just recently started a new job so please send her good thoughts! I know she'll do great. (And I am sooo jealous!)

I wasn't scheduled until a later shift today, but everyone got called in this morning. I mean everyone. I don't even know if KV is legitimate based on how many patients I've seen today claiming to have symptoms, all of them brunettes. But some of them work in the first district, or work with blondes, or know people who say they work in the first district... etc., etc. They're convinced it's airborne, which doesn't make sense based on what the Masenshi stated, but there's no convincing them. I'm sure there are some people out there that have remained calm but that's the thing, they're safe at home or work not worrying about it, so I can't be sure.

I spoke with Dr. Ichinose and he agrees with me about it not being airborne, but still we're stuck wearing surgical masks and are already running short on supply of them due to high demand.

The other doctors don't seem to know what to think, but no patient wants to be seen by blondes, which is problematic because the rest of the staff aren't trained to actually diagnose or treat patients.

Rumor has it that two blondes are already in critical condition at the hospital over at [street] and [street], but rumor also has it that KV affects brunettes by turning their hair blonde. So there you go.

I'm trying to get ahold of a friend at one of the hospitals in the first district, to see if she's found any trace of the KV cases the Masenshi referenced, but she's probably in the same situation I am.

Ugh, so much for giving up coffee. And there goes my five minute lunch break, maybe I should have, you know, actually eaten something?
