Don't freak, don't freak, Don't freak...
This is what Steve had said to himself time and again and again. the first was when he first asked her out. The second time was when they spent their first night together. The third was when he went into that store, looking for the small band of metal.
This is now time number four. Here he was, dating Alice, a Dugan, and now he may well be marrying into the family. Weird he's thinking about her family more than her at this moment, but when she's related to Dum-Dum Dugan, there was a good chance Steve may well get a personal visit from him.
As if this day wasn't already stressful. But for now, in the midday sun of New york City, he was driving up to her apartment, on their third anniversary, getting ready for a nice dinner. At least as far as she knew.

It had to have been a long day for Yelena, so it was up to Steve to make damn sure that, after such a tense day (of which he didn't know much, other than it involving AIM and their regular shenanigans)he had to make certain that she was nice and relaxed afterwards. it's what someone is supposed to do for their significant other, yes?
And yes, significant other. Not girlfriend. Girlfriend was a bit too immature to describe Yelena in that regard. So he had a Bath drawn for her with her favorite soaps and candles ringing the tub, her favorite meal on order and making it's way there, and everything cleaned and tidied to ensure she didn't have to deal with any other crap.
