We got two weeks before New York. It's not nearly enough time, in my opinion, but it's all the time we have to work as a functional team.

My goal is to make sure we have our shit together before then. Consider this my obligatory 'we're only as strong as our weakest player' inspirational speech. It'll save me from having to make one later.

Pretty sure my three monsters are finally coming down from their Halloween sugar high. Jacob has been smartly hiding whatever candy he was able to collect whilst Trick-or-Treating, which means that Marcus and Elizabeth are in competition to see who can find and steal it first. I'm glad it's bye week for the United, otherwise I'd be missing out on watching them devise strategies. There are maps involved.

Marcus and Jacob spent most of the afternoon spinning their little sister around in the desk chair before putting her on the floor and letting her try and walk it off. She found it hysterical, but I told them to cut it out before she got sick.

It's really strange, how proud I was of both of them just because they kept stopping her before she crashed into a wall.

Now if only I could try and get it through their heads that rocks are not to be used for playing catch.

I'm taking this one step at a time.

I can not wait 4 more bloody years until this kid is off at Hogwarts. At least then I can't be held responsible for when he breaks someone else's nose with a hard boiled egg like he did last year.

On that note, I won't blame Aunt Jules for not coming back this year for dinner, Stell. We're going to have to start handing out head gear for our guests. It's either that, or we tie Marcus down to his chair like I've been suggesting since he was old enough to sit in one.

An actual update.

The Valentine's Charity turned out better than I thought it would.

Caitlin and Olivia are saviors.

I am not looking forward to practice tomorrow. My shoulder keeps locking up.

Marcus is fine. He has an obsession with ice cubes lately, and I really don't understand it. He gets upset if I don't put at least one ice cube in every. thing. he drinks. Even milk. I have no idea where he came from sometimes. And because he changes his mind in 2.5 seconds flat, I'm waiting for him to hate ice cubes tomorrow, or even an hour from now. Maybe 15 minutes. I tried explaining to him that it was just frozen water, but then he insisted that it made everything taste better. I wasn't even going to start on the fact that water doesn't have a taste, because then he'd insist that it does.

If you think I'm a stubborn pain in the ass, you should meet my son.

And for those of you who have, I apologize for whatever he did at the time, which probably involved something getting thrown at your head.

His aim is getting better. I don't know yet whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.
