THIS IS A LEGIT NON-HATER QUESTION but i've been wanting to maybe pick up the got but i always see (not just here) people raging about them about how they're boring and certain character chapters suck so why do you guys keep reading them if they're such a chore? I KEEP DEBATING ON WHETHER OR NOT I WANT TO PUT MYSELF THROUGH THE AGONY???

it started out as legitimately good/funny (like in the pilot) and then slowly evolved into bad but the fun kind of bad and then just bad and now it's like "this is the television equivalent to chinese water torture"

i don't think the got books are boring as far as content goes because usually by the last third of the book you're like WHAT'S NEXT, it's just that sometimes grrm's writing is too straight forward or bland or too repetitive in the things that happen within that chapter that you're like okay let's move on. also sometimes NOTHING happens in a chapter so you're like wtf was the point? but he's also a giant troll

content wise it's brilliant but he's often an awful writer tbh people stick with the books for the plot not for the way he presents it
