I'm considering pre-ordering the new Prince of Persia game for the PC and praying it plays as beautifully as it looks. I'm totally in love with the art style and graphics. Or maybe I should wait for a review or two? :/

NINTENDO ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE DATE FOR NEXT LAYTON GAME PLEEEEASE. I keep hoping they'll announce Pandora's Box before the end of the year. D:

NBC has the new season three posters, which I love, up for sale, but they're $20 each. I kinda want a Petrelli brothers trio and maybe even a HRG. I probably don't have enough space anyway, I'd have to take down the other Season One cast poster I have. :( Maybe I'll wait and see if they go down in price or if I can find them somewhere else cheaper. I miss the "Vote Nathan Petrelli" stuff they used to have too. If I had a car here at college, I totally would have bought a bumper sticker.

My favorite thing about Halloween is that either Disney or ABC Family plays Hocus Pocus. Best Disney Channel movie EVER.

...Talk about Biblical imagery! I've never seen that poster before, it's pretty snazzy. I love you, House. :D

LittleBigPlanet really makes me wish I had a PS3. D: But they're so gosh darn expensive! And I'd want to get one with a decent amount of memory.

I made an AIM screen name just to talk to my friend who goes to school faaaar away, so we can't chat too often. Monday night is our date night! We discuss/freak out about Heroes.

Some thoughts about "I Am Become Death" (there be spoilers in these here waters):

- Goody two shoes Sylar was DELICIOUS! His son, Noah, was adorable too. I thought Zachary Quinto really pulled off making Gabriel sweet and docile, a nice throwback to the episode when he visited his mom. But the question remains: WHO IS HIS BABY'S MAMA?! I can't even think of anyone who could be a candidate. Claire's his niece (insert "that didn't stop Milo Ventimiglia joke" here), Tracy digs herself some political Petrelli, Maya just seems ridiculous, Daphne apparently hooks up with Matt, etc. Elle? Maybe he adopted him Molly-style? Also, I am super jealous that he got Mr. Muggles.

- I really liked the idea that Sylar's power comes with 'THE HUUUNGER,' as he puts it. So is it the watch, the brain, or both?

- HEY PETER. Killing your BFF and my favorite character IS NOT COOL. However, Nathan seems to have a good track record when it comes to this dying thing. I remain cautiously optimistic. :/

- Mohinder and Maya have been annoying me since the beginning of the season. Maya doesn't do anything but bounce her boobs around and Mohinder whines way too much. Alejandro was so much cooler than either of them.

- ADAM! YES. I wasn't a huge fan of the Ancient Japan storyline, but I loved Adam.

Went to see Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist, and was surprised to learn it was co-written by David Levithan. I really liked his other book, The Realm of Possibility. It seems like I read that such a long time ago! I was also proud of myself for spotting a Go! Team poster. Way to make me feel super cool, movie. It was a sweet movie, my fave character by far was Caroline, drunk friend extraordinaire.

Have to start signing up for next semester classes already. :/ But I'm actually kind of excited to take some art classes! Just Fundamentals of Art & Design and Basic Drawing, but I haven't taken a real art class since...eighth grade? Oh man.

Guess who's avoiding writing a three page paper about Dante as an atypical epic hero? It's me! I remember spending weeks on The Inferno last year, this semester we read a few cantos, now I have to write a paper and then that's it. I guess it's only an intro to Western Literature...

So while I am still angsting about Half-Blood Prince being pushed back (UGH), there are always new photos. BUT! I am very happy to have fall TV back! Heroes on Monday and House on Tuesday is more than I could ever ask for. Everyone is a Petrelli, but it's never lupus.

My mom is a huge fan of Josh Groban (his voice is seriously out of control). I've even seen him in concert with her (ahahah I'm like 70 in my mind). Anyway, he sang at the Emmys last night, and I was particularly impressed with his rendition South Park theme song (I can only imagine that the creators of that show have epic lulz every time they get nominated for an Emmy) and "Movin' On Up" sounded great. Just don't look at his eyes too much...he kinda looks like a Hobbit. :D I love TV theme songs...oh, Fresh Prince.

I'm also thinking about buying A Raisin in the Sun on DVD, because I missed on it ABC earlier this year. Oh, Sean Combs...

Hey guys! I'm sorry I've been a horrible friend and commenter, school seems consist of either class, eating, work, or procrastination. D:

I brought David Bowie's crotch with me to college! I was capping Labyrinth and forgot I'd left it in the CD drive. I also have a few pretty interesting caps of Jareth and Sarah. OHOHOHO. But I still need to finish capping, I really wanna make some icons.

So it's mid-September and I've already started listening to Christmas carols...

I'm waiting for 10:00 pm for the new Ace of Cakes episode. Man, I love that show.

Hey everyone! I'm reporting to you live from college. :O I'm a little homesick, but classes started today, so I'm hoping that will help me get into the swing of things. I even had an eight o'clock class this morning! The perks of being a freshman, I guess...

It's always so weird when old old old old friends/kids I knew find me on Facebook. Some of the kids from Luxembourg I still imagine as 5th graders. :D And then I see them in bars and mourn my childhood.

I can't believe it's almost fall! Time seems to fly by these days. I hope you're all doing well!

Bo Burham's the guy who opened for Joel McHale, his songs combine fantastic wordplay and delicious inappropriateness. He used to go to a private school around here, that some local kids would go to instead of the public high school.

I love The Road to El Dorado so, so much. Miguel and Tulio have such a possibly very gay bromance, and Chel is equally fantastic. Dreamworks needs to make movies like that again, instead of Shrek sequels.

:D! I customized my LJ with a gorgeous layout by milou_veronica, and then added a header from the new Prince of Persia game. I also finally posted some icons. D: I wonder if I should make an icon journal here at scribbld too...?

"Zac is getting a lot of press in Japan because of the popularity of the High School Musical films which made quite a splash here, and he's accumulated a sizeable base of screaming female fans. The article was especially interested in whether or not Zac's love of anime like Dragonball Z, Death Note and Evangelion qualified him as a bona fide otaku or not."
-From here.

(From last year but -) WHAT. Zac Efron, that is not cool. I refuse to believe that you can reduce girls to screaming piles of hormonal mush (my personal fave is Hairspray!Efron) AND have the ability to watch Evangelion (ahaha Evangelion)? Oh Kira Zac Efron.

I can't believe summer's almost over. D: I go off to college this year! Hopefully that will be fun...

The new Prince of Persia looks really interesting, I might grab it for the PC when it comes out. I know the buddy system can be frustrating in games, but hot lady-friend seems to mirror the Prince's movements well, and he even grabs her hand and swings her up when she lands just below him after a jump. I'm a sucker for pretty graphics, and I love high quality screenshots. Yum.

Hm. I think I might have slowed down the network trying to get my songs on the Mac to my laptop, downloads are taking ridiculously long. I'm almost done, though! I've also been really frustrated with my Hotmail account lately, I think I might get a Gmail account instead. The only trouble is redirecting everything. :/

I made chocolate chip cookies this morning but I forgot that EVERYONE IN THIS HOUSE IS A SCAVENGER. I made a dozen and there's only one lonely cookie left. No cookies left. D: But I still have brownie mix! :D

Now I have to vacuum. :/

Hey everyone! Are any of your scribbld/CSS savvy? I'm trying to customize my journal (in S2, with the "Dear Diary" layout) with the CSS here. I followed the directions, and I can save changes when I only change the option to not use the layout's stylesheet, but after I paste the custom stylesheet into the box and click "save changes" again, the operation times out in IE and loads a blank page in Firefox. I wonder if this is problem on my end? I had no problem customizing in S1. D: Should I try to find somewhere to host the stylesheet and upload it from a URL?

Thanks for any help in advance!

A few more levels and my Vincent will be able to use a lute! :D I am inappropriately excited. His voice is ridiculous. "The ladies love this one!"

Went shopping with my parents yesterday, and got a laptop for school. Now I just have to move stuff around, and then pretty much delete everything off of my account here at home. This computer could definitely use the free space. I also have the Sword of the New World installation CD, which means I won't have to download it all over again.

I also got a last.fm, does any one else have one? My username is northerngale.

Rotten Tomatoes is releasing a Coraline featurette every day this week! The first three are here. I absolutely love Henry Selick's stuff (James and the Giant Peach and The Nightmare Before Christmas), and I think stop-motion animation is fantastic in general. I haven't read the book...I was trying to work my way through Neil Gaiman's stuff this summer, but the last thing I read was Fragile Things in June. D: The Tale of Desperaux also looks like it has gorgeous animation.

[Tokyo Babylon] Do you like...?
I just cleaned out a bunch of manga on my HD, and now I've practically replaced it with CLAMP. They are such cruel mistresses. D: But, I caught up with Kobato, and have X, Tokyo Babylon and Legal Drug.

I always try to connect CLAMP's stories together, especially since their more recent works have crossovers all over the place. xxxHolic, Legal Drug, Suki Dakara Suki, Kobato and Wish (?) seem to take place in the same universe (Wish would be the earliest? Then Suki, then the rest seem to occur simultaneously), Tokyo Babylon and CLAMP Campus are before X (I feel like xxxHolic has some connection to TB and X? I might be making that up), Angelic Layer leads to Chobits, while Cardcaptor Sakura takes place before Tsubasa, which runs parallel to xxxHolic, and Clow Reed shows up wherever he wants...ugh.

Anybody else watching the Olympics? I'm addicted. I watch gymnastics and swimming almost every night!

I fell asleep with Wicked playing on my iPod a few nights ago. Needless to say, I had some pretty gay musical dreams.

Disney released a teaser trailer for The Princess and the Frog, and it reminds me of ye olde days. DISNEY HAVE YOU COME BACK TO ME?!?! D: D: D:

I have been consumed by a burning desire to read the TWILIGHT SERIES, for the fantastic lulz. And so I can go the movie for even more. EDWARD BETTER SPARKLE LEGIT. My sister's got the first book. Excellent. But then I read that Edward was inspired by Edward Rochester from Jane Eyre. NO. YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE ROCH.

ETA: Breaking News! Apparently, my sister is devouring the series. She got Eclipse today.

I also just spent like $10 downloading Disney music off of iTunes. Pocahontas isn't my favorite Disney movie (I'm a giant freaky fan of Beauty and the Beast), but it has some kickass songs. "Savages" is a fantastic song to get stuck in your head, all of the lyrics are wonderfully inappropriate.

THEY'RE NOT LIKE YOU AND ME, WHICH MEANS THEY MUST BE EEEVIL.

OH YES! HARRY POTTAH TEASER TRAILER! Little Tom Riddle looks fantastic. He's Ralph Fiennes's (Voldemort) nephew, and he even looks like Christian Coulson from The Chamber of Secrets. I really hope the next trailer is Snape-centric, I really want to see him and Malfoy. The sectumsempra and the tower scenes are some of the best HP moments ever.

My family in Sword of the New World has the last name of Merveille, and they all have French names. It goes with the theme of the game: old European families exploring the New World, right? I'm really surprised how often I'm asked if I'm French. And then I have to respond in ridiculously horrible French that I'm not. My comprehension isn't too bad, but my grammar can be monstrous. D: And I always get PMs while I'm AFK. D:

Also, Tokyopop has put Off*Beat, by Jen Lee Quick, on hiatus. It's the only "OEL manga" I've read. :/ I know that like a lot of companies, Tokyopop's been going through some rough times, and I'm sure Off*Beat has a ridiculously tiny fanbase compared to their big sellers like Fruits Basket, but UGH. I'm dying to see how it ends! I haven't bought any manga lately, but I was totally prepared to buy the last volume. Tokyopop still has the publication rights, and the author seems to be totally in the dark about whether or not the third volume will ever see the light of day. From what I can gather, the volume's actually finished, and Jen Quick just has pages lying around. I hope she can eventually find some way to get the book out there.

There's a air conditioner vent right under the computer desk, my toes are freezing. D:

A taste for the theatrical.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
[The Dark Knight] Chance.
I FINALLY saw The Dark Knight with a few friends last night. I was a huge fan of Batman Begins, but Christopher Nolan exploded my mind in TDK.
Some thoughts (SPOILERS for TDK):

1. I really loved how "The Dark Knight" can apply to Batman and Two-Face. Ohohoho.

2. Two-Face's makeup was badass. It was the bone sticking out of his chin that really got me. I also really like the idea that Harvey Dent had a kind of chance/luck complex, and Two-Face made him take that idea and go absolutely psycho with it. I think I might have been the only one out of my friends expecting Harvey's transformation into Two-Face. :/

3. HEATH LEDGER. The man's a frickin' genius. I could hardly believe it was the same guy who played Ennis in Brokeback. Nurse!Joker was one of my favorite parts, that wig was just too much. I also wanted to get a look at his scars when he was in the police uniform, but it was way too quick of a shot. The way he switched Harvey's and Rachel's addresses was just vicious.

4. I'm in no way well-versed with the comics, but I really liked all the little nods to other parts of the Batman universe. Little Barbara Gordon, Batman with white eyes, the Joker laughing the way it's written (Ha-ha-ha-hee-hoo-hoo) at the mob meeting, that kind of stuff.

5. I love Cillian Murphy. I also love how they were chasing Crane the entire movie, and he's captured like it's nothing in the first half hour. I love you, Jonathan Crane.
