I'm not very sociable through these things, so for those who know me, ignore this entry. For those who don't (like the little canon fodder known as freshmen!), consider this my introduction.

I am Russel James Pearson. Russ to my friends, to everyone Russel. I'm currently a senior here, and can't wait to get out of here and on with my life. I'm engaged to the lovely Sakura. (Who is missing currently. Anyone been able to find her? I can't seem to catch her long enough to say more than good morning before she's off again.) And, I am from the town of Lynchburg Tennessee. There's only two things worth mentioning that come from an otherwise dry and boring town. One of them is me. The other, is the best whiskey in the nation, possibly the world. Jack Daniels. ~~I'll never understand why its a dry town, when its known for its alcohol~~

I'm a whiz at Astronomy, and have tried to talk the faculty into letting me take the reins, just once, on the class. I am far more qualified than the current teacher. Don't believe me? I'm sure we can discuss this some other time. I hate the limelight, so don't expect to see me being the center of attention. It won't happen. I'm quite happy being on the outer ring of the popular crowd.

I hate brooms. You will never see me on one. Why is that? Well, lets just say there was a nasty accident when I was little. I nearly died. I refuse to get back up on one.

My favorite color is blue. I'm a sucker for Italian and Mexican food. I enjoy a good book from time to time, and have quite the collection back home. Hmm, other than that, I'm just me. I have nothing else to say. So, I'm off to class. Later.

History

From the moment that Russel was born, Xander had no real use for Darla, save to raise his son. And that is what the woman did. She loved her son almost as much as she hated the person she had been shackled to through marriage. Now, I could go into detail on just how... vile... of a person Xander was, but I will spare you the details and sum it up with - he was abusive. For years, Darla had glamored herself to hide the beatings from the public, and to protect her son. For years, she put up with every bit of it, for her Russel. Xander detested the bond mother and son had, and had gone so far as to threaten taking the child away from his mother, just to watch the woman squirm under his control. This had gone on for years. Years that Darla had spent tutoring her son, teaching him everything she felt he would need to know in study as well as in life. Russel excelled in reading from a young age, and she felt he'd be a fine student. At the age of seven, Russel was awakened by a nasty argument that had echoed through the halls of Pearson Manor. Quietly, the young boy had crept to the door of his parents' room and peeked through the key hole. He didn't know what the argument was about, but from his vantage point, he saw his mother thrown across the room. He'd known it was his father, for he'd moved into the boy's view and stood over the crumpled form on the floor. Cursing her existence. Russel must have made a noise, cried out, something. Xander whipped about to face the door, and at the moment Russ took off running back for his room. That night, the little boy vowed he hated his father and wanted to see him pay for what he'd done. Over the next few years, Russel did everything in his power to show his hatred. Had even gone so far as to discover a joy in the literature of Muggles. Hidden around his room were disguised books by authors such as Shakespeare, Byron, and Chaucer to name a few. The boy's blatant lack of respect had caused the father to do more than raise a hand to the boy. Russel kept hold of his pride, never allowing his father to entirely break him, all the while dreaming up ways in which he'd like to see the man dead. His anger had become a constant in his life, and as such it had changed the once innocent little boy. School held its own rewards and escapes. Russel thrived in the environment, submerging himself in his education and the improvement of his mind. His favorite class was Astronomy, and it remained his favorite, letting him look into the heavens for answers and mysteries to solve. He detested Care of Magical Creatures; Russ could not shake his revulsion at getting his hands that dirty and was greatful he wouldn't have to take the class. Russ, the quiet one who watched from the shadows, slowly began to come out of his shell as the years went by. He still has the twitchy, and jumpy behavior of a person who grew up in an abusive household, but he has never let on just what happened at home. Eligere is a safe haven. A place that needs not be tarnished with sympathetic looks or jokes. He does his best to make it through the day. He studies hard, and can't wait for the day to come when he finally completes his studies and can move on with his life. To be out from under his father's thumb.

Russ is a taller, thin young man with a head of blond hair and piercing blue eyes. His features are aristocratic; he has a well shaped chin and nose, and a nicely shaped mouth that tends to curl into a secret smile as he reads or watches something. He has a lanky build but is not a weakling; his father would never allow a son of his to be called such a thing, and thus Russ is physically fit, but not by choice. He has a calm demeanor to him, and can be found with a book or a journal upon him at any given time; this demeanor masks the watchful nature of his being. His expressions are usually very guarded, to the point of seeming stoic to the causal onlooker; he masks his feelings rather effectively as he is a private person, and does not care for others to suspect what he is feeling. He usually dresses in more formal clothes (a requirement of his father's) and even at school, he can be found wearing slacks and a jacket; he rarely dresses down. Image, unfortunately, is everything.

Personality

He is a very idealistic young man, with specific ideas of how a man should behave with his family, how a man should behave towards his friends and how a man should approach his occupation and the important work of his life. He has taken hours to inventory his past and decide how he wants his future to be shaped, and it is not going to be anything like what he has experienced with his father. Russel has a quick wit, and the ability to "to think on one's feet." He has the potential of becoming a leader, and his enthusiasm about his view points, when he cares to elaborate, draw people to him. But coming from an abusive family life, Russ does not care nor seek such attention. He tends to shield himself from others, and it can come across as carelessness or apathy. He has an impetuousness to his nature, which tends to empty his bank account too often. He has been accused of being overly sensitive, which only provokes his tactless tongue and an underlying hot temper. His biggest fear is that he will become lilke his father and lose his temper and become a cruel abbusive person. Being born a pure-blood, Russel was born to be a gentleman. He does not treat women poorly, and has somewhat of a white knight complex. He can never resist the attempt at saving a damsel in distress. And perhaps that is why his closest friends are mainly girls. Other than that, there are only two words to describe Russ. Proper, and quiet. He will always behave with the best of manners, all the while inwardly reflecting in guarded fashion, on how any situation will benefit or harm him. Russ is known to be more of the one to watch from the shadows while others bask in the lime light. He is not too keen on basking, and will avoid all situations where that attention might settle upon himself.
