extra ● soundtrack ● scenes ● connections ● ooc NAME: Logan Decker. NICKNAME Agent Decker. He has had countless aliases over the years, making it hard to keep track of them all, some lasting a single day, some still in use after years. AGE AND DOB: 27. 11th November, 1992. CAREER: Hunter. CURRENT RESIDENCE: The Sanctuary. MARTIAL STATUS: Single. SEXUALITY: Bisexual. HEIGHT: 5' 11½" EYE / HAIR COLOUR: Brown / Blue. DISTINGUISHING MARKS: He has a number of scars over his body from near misses and dangerous situations that always seem to find him. The ones of real note are on his chest, a few inches blow his heart, where he has two small circular scars from gunshot wounds. Near his right leg he has a reddish scar from a particularly nasty knife attack. On the underside of his arm, almost in his armpit, he has a small set of numbers tattooed on in black, his agency number. RACE: Human. ABILITIES ETHER: Yes; he is a fine Cuban cigar on a sunny day, a car ride along the coast, complete with sun beating down on you and the strong purr of an engine. Under it all is the hint of diesel fumes and sparks, with the potential to explode. SKILLS: He is a genius, with an IQ hovering around the 160 mark. Most of Logan’s skills derive from his training as a spy and reflect that. He is a highly trained fighter, more than able to hold his own in combat. He can speak a variety of languages including English, French, Spanish, Greek and a passable knowledge of Arabic. Logan can also read and speak Latin, which gives him a very rudimentarily understanding of all the languages which are part of the same family. The young man is very good with his hands, capable of building almost anything given enough time and the right parts. He enjoys working like that, building and crafting items from all manner of things, getting a simple joy in knowing he has built up that gun or that chair, whatever it is that he has created. Logan is a very good tactical thinker, able to take in a situation at a glance and see all the different angles and problems connected to it. He can predict likely outcomes for battles and situations, and view things in a purely analytical manner. He also has a higher than average human tolerance to alcohol. LIMITATIONS: As a human, he is completely mortal and as such, susceptible to all the weakness that come with that. If injured, it will take him the normal amount of time to heal, and of course he can be easily killed in any number of different ways. He is just as likely as to get an illness as anyone else, from a cold to a potentially fatal one which would kill him. The Watch and his loyalty to them, along with his ‘hero complex’, that desire to protect those he deems innocents, can easily be used against him, or cause him untold pain and danger in the long run. Bee Harland is another large limitation to him, as his whole personality can change around her, along with his skills and his confidence. There is little he wouldn’t do to keep her or anyone else in the Watch safe, no matter the personal cost. Logan also suffers from nightmares connected to his past. WEAPONRY TRAINING: Highly skilled in the use of a number of weapons from bladed ones such as swords – Logan has over a decade of fencing training under his belt – and knives, to more up to date ones such as guns. Typically he specialises in pistols, but he has some knowledge of rifles and similar guns. When it comes to hand-to-hand, he is also more than trained. Logan is equally capable of using his mind as well as his body as a weapon. GROUP: The Watch. FAMILY FATHER: James Decker. [Deceased] MOTHER: Alice Decker née Richards. [Deceased] SIBLING(S): Aidan Decker [Older Brother]; Emily Decker [Younger Sister; Deceased] ● Logan Decker was born in the tail end of 1992, the second son of the Decker’s, an English family from near the Welsh border. • Just over a year later his sister was born. • The Decker family was reasonably well off and middle class, having enough money to get by but not enough to send their children to the exclusive schools they wanted to. • It was around the birth of Emily that their parents first began to notice that their one year son was progressing mentally far faster than expected. • He picked up on things after seeing them once, learnt to walk, talk and read faster than children his age. • Despite that however, when Logan started school, he didn’t do well. He was a moody, awkward student, playing up and hardly seeming to pay attention to the teachers or the lessons. • His parents couldn’t understand the poor grades and letters home from the school when he was so attentive at home, constantly reading whatever he could get his hands on. • Always more interested in appearances and the outward trappings of life, they tried to fight a little for their son, unable to accept that someone so smart at home would embarrass them at school, insisting there had to be another reason behind his actions. • There was however, no indication that he was being bullied, rather Logan was a popular child and no other cause that they could find. • Logan didn’t enjoy school, his favourite parts being the breaks when he got to spend time with his older brother Aidan or his younger sister Emily. All three siblings were very close, having to pretty much rely on each other to bring each other up. • He looked up to Aidan in particular, his brother as close to a hero as he ever had. • It wasn’t until he was ten that his teachers began to notice a theme. Despite his bad grades, his lack of attention and his frequent misbehaviour, Logan could still do the work if convinced to do so. He had the brains but seemed to lack the will, most teachers growing if possible, more annoyed at him when they realised what he was throwing away. • His science teacher, Mr. Sanderson however thought differently. • After Logan was forced to stay behind after school in detention yet again, gloomily watching Aidan and Emily leave, he found that instead of the usual boring lines there was a test waiting. • At first he ignored it, but in the end curiosity won out, Logan idly flipping it open. Inside was page after page of question, the level of difficulty far beyond that of anything he had previously tried. It was actually interesting and he found himself working on them, for the first time truly applying his mind to his work. • It turned out to be a Mensa test, Logan scoring high enough to be considered a genius. • In that instant everything changed, the young boy being given test after test and challenge after challenge to see how smart he really was, teachers realising that his behaviour had been born out of boredom. • Logan found the whole thing more than a little overwhelming, but Aidan and Emily were always there to encourage him to keep trying and it was his siblings more than his parents that kept Logan from cracking under the sudden pressure. • Nearly two months passed when one day Logan came home from school to find two strangers sitting in the living room, his parents fussing over the suited males. • They didn’t interest him at first and it wasn’t until his father all but dragged him into the room that Logan really began to take any notice of the serious looking pair. • Quietly, he took in the tiny details, listening as his parents bragged about his high IQ. • The first of the two men explained to him that they were part of the government, a branch that was focused on encouraging gifted children who might have trouble getting everything they needed and that they had come to offer him a place at an elite boarding school, along with a hefty allowance which would be paid directly to his parents for safe keeping. • Logan didn’t want to go. He had discovered a late blooming love for school now that it was actually a challenge but that didn’t mean he wanted to devote himself completely to it. He was still just a child, and more than that, he didn’t want to leave his brother and sister. • He knew though that he didn’t have much of a choice, that the moment his parents had been offered such a large chunk of money and the fact they could brag to other families that they had a child in such an elite establishment, they had agreed to the idea. • To all extents and purposes, his parents sold him that day, signing document after document that left most of the care and choices in how to raise Logan in the hands of the school. • Having to leave Aidan and Emily was heartrending for the young boy, having a mere week between the agreement and actually setting off. • The school was terrible at first, Logan too home sick to enjoy it, writing long letters home his either his brother or sister, but little more than formal notes to his parents. • Gradually though, he settled in, applying himself to the work and enjoying it, although he never stopped missing his siblings. • He was set on the fast track, jumping ahead of those the same age as him. It was a little stifling at times, Logan nearly always sent off too some summer school or other training whenever holidays rolled around so that he barely saw his family. • His parents became little more than a memory, although he refused to let the same thing happen to his siblings, going home whenever possible just to see them. • At age fourteen he’d completed his GCSE’s and before his sixteenth birthday he had breezed through five A-Levels, being accepted into Cambridge St. Clare Collage. • Around the same time Logan was approached by the government again, this time MI5. He fit the desired profile they said and they offered him a job, to work for them during his university years, to train to be a spy • He chose Latin and languages as his university degree. It was a thrill to know he was ‘undercover’ and training to be a spy, his tutors having been careful to instil in him a desire to serve Queen and County. • It didn’t even matter to him that due to his age it was next to impossible to make friends with the students so much older than him. Logan had his training, his studying to keep him busy and the letters from his siblings to keep him company. • Logan discovered a love of fencing out of all the sports, adoring it and throwing himself into it, taking part in competitions. • Upon graduating, he moved straight into working for MI5, officially working a desk job if anyone asked his cover story. • Hand selected for a special task force, Logan had no idea that he had been chosen from the first moment the government had noticed him. He also had no idea of what he would learn, that there were far worse things lurking in the shadows than what they had been led to believe. • The supernatural world was real and dangerous, a threat to the country and it was up to people like Logan and the other members of his team to stop them. • He willingly volunteered for a near-death experience when told it would better help them fight the good fight, that it would connect them to something called the ‘Ether’. • They were all ordered to keep what they knew secret but Logan couldn’t hide something so fundamental about the world from Aidan and Emily, not when they were in danger from not knowing and so on one of his increasingly rare visits home, he told them. • It wasn’t until 2011 that his family life and his work life came crashing together, with terrible consequences. • The agency had been keeping tabs on various groups for years now and they received information that a group of wolves were planning an attack on a certain football match, located in the town the Decker’s had grown up in. For some reason they withheld the information for Logan, either out of the desire not to have him becoming emotionally involved in a mission or for the fact that they had never approved he still had ties to his family. • When Logan finally learned of the planned attack and MI5’s counterattack it was too late to do anything, knowing with terrible clarity that his two siblings were almost certainly going to be at the match, as was their tradition. Frantically he raced to the scene, trying to contact either of them through their mobiles but to no avail. • He reached the site of the football match to find utter devastation, piles of bodies, both human and wolf. The taskforce seemed to have come out on top, but it hardly registered to Logan as he came across the still and broken form of his sister, slumping to his knees in pain. • The young man didn’t know how long he remained there before finally forcing himself to move again, to look for Aidan, knowing that if Emily had been there, then so would his brother. He eventually found him being loaded into an ambulance, injured during the attack but amazingly alive. • Thanking every God he had ever heard of that he hadn’t lost his brother, Logan went with him in the ambulance, arranging for Emily to be brought home. • That relief was shattered the moment Aidan woke up and Logan was faced with something he had never thought he would see; pure, unbridled hate. In a single instant he knew that Aidan blamed him for what had happened and truthfully there was nothing Logan could say to try and change that. He should have done something, should have learned about the planned attack sooner and should have been able to save them both. He could save countless strangers but he couldn’t save his baby sister from a horrific death? It didn’t make any sense to Logan and after leaving the hospital room, he only saw his family one more time, during Emily’s funeral, Logan keeping himself distance from them, feeling as though he had forfeited the right to grieve with his family. • Somewhat disillusioned and bitterer now, Logan returned to work a mere three days after the funeral, throwing himself fully into the mission. He was driven by more than just ideology now, but the need for revenge and the guilt of having failing his family. More than once he picked up the phone to call Aidan, always stopping before the final number. • His work kept him from brooding too deeply, Logan coming home one day to find evidence, as small as it was, that someone had broken into his home. On high alert, gun at the ready, Logan crept through the rooms, slipping like a ghost into the study where a strange dark haired woman bent over some papers, clearly searching for something. • Gun pointed directly at her, he must have made a noise of some kind because of a sudden she was turning, in a near mirror image of him, a gun of her own pointed right back at him. • They remained in that standoff for a couple of minutes, each trying to get the other to lower their weapons, Logan having seen more than enough of death and not wanting to kill her, even though she had broken into his home. • Finally, reluctantly, the woman lowered her weapon, Logan gingerly following suit. She introduced herself as Kayla Chase, saying that she was on the hunt of a vampire that had so far eluded her, one with contacts that kept it out of the general population, one that Logan and his team had been also tracking. • He recognized the pain in her voice as she spoke of the vampire, and even without her saying anything about why she wanted to hurt the creature, Logan wanted to help. • The spy offered to join forces, saying that it couldn’t hurt for Kayla to have MI5 on her side for this mission, arguing with his superiors that they needed someone with her talents to take down the vampire with minimal human loss. • He suspected she was more than met the eye, that anyone fighting vampires solo had to have more than human talents but Logan didn’t ask. Part of him didn’t want to know. • Working with Kayla and the rest of the team it didn’t take them long to track down and plan an attack on the vampire. • Nothing was ever as simple as it seemed however and when they did attack it was to find that instead of a single vampire, there were a handful of them, more than his team could take on. • Before their eyes, having no other choice, Kayla transformed into a snow leopard, Logan inwardly relived that she wasn’t a wolf, knowing that he would have had trouble talking to her knowing that. Thanks to her transformation they were able to defeat the vampires, leopard and spy agreeing to meet up later on in the evening. • Upon returning back to MI5, Logan was presented with new, and inwardly conflicting orders. One of his superiors had gotten their hands on an early debriefing and upon learning of Kayla’s true race they had ordered him to bring her in, dead or alive. • He knew it wouldn’t benefit the agency to do that, that it would cost them too much in human life to capture her and that she was much more of an asset alive and taking out more vampires. • When they met up as arranged therefore, he did something he had only done once before; he disobeyed orders. Logan told Kayla what his superiors had ordered him to do, saying that statistically it would end with one of them dead, Logan knowing that she would never allow herself to be taken alive. He didn’t want to have to try and hunt her. • Instead he told her to get out of the country, telling his boss that Kayla had simply failed to turn up to their arranged meeting. As expected, they were ordered to search for her, but even though they tried, it was to his silent relief that they failed, the female clearly having taken his advice. • Logan ended up on the British Fencing team of the 2012 Olympics as part of an undercover mission. Along with foiling a plan by a demon to try and destroy the stadium and everyone in it, he also managed to win some medals, although there was no real pleasure in it. His siblings should have been there and the thought that Emily was in the ground and Aidan gone without a trace made the even more painful than anything else. • Then the war came, everything being thrown into disarray, a mad panic and confusion. Logan stayed with MI5 for as long as it existed, going on every dangerous mission they had for him, fighting desperately to keep Britain – his beloved Britain – intact. • Yet again, it was something he couldn’t save and although the country survived, it was a shell of what he had known. • Logan couldn’t face living there anymore, and he moved to America, soon falling in with the Watch. • It didn’t take long for him to assume the role of a Hunter, to pick up that old familiar battle and throw himself into that as a way of trying to block the pain, moving from city to city, although Las Vegas was always the one place he returned to. • It was during one of those wanderings that he first encountered Bee Harland, the woman knocking him right off his feet, the first thing that really made him happy since loosing his family. • Logan’s settled into something of a pattern now, and is currently back in Las Vegas, as he has been for several months. ● Loves his fedora. ● Was on the British Fencing team of 2012; won bronze individually with the foil and silver in the team sabre event. ♪ Stabilo; Don't Look In Their Eyes [Character Theme]. ♪ Ana Johnsson; We Are. ♪ Johnny Rivers; Secret Agent Man. ♪ Switchfoot; Dare You To Move. ♪ Queen; The Great Pretender.
