Testing 1..2..3.. [12 Oct 2011|10:55pm]
Jo was dashing about Metropolis just keeping an eye out for trouble and not really expecting much of it when something caught her eye in an alley behind a restaurant. A familiar boy about her age was standing around with some older men, but Jo couldn't in that moment place where she had seen him before.

She stopped at the mouth of the alley keeping her eyes on them the whole time trying to figure out what she was looking at.

"Everything alright, here, gentlemen?"

She held back her wince and promised herself she'd come up with better approach lines than that later.

Player (nickname, handle)/ LJ: Chaer

AIM (if you have one): Sicilytremaine

Character Name: Jolene Martha Kent

Character LJ (if applicable): N/A

Physical description (face, build, weight): Black, slightly curling hair, large dark brown eyes, on the short side of average in height, and average weight.

Age: 16

Birthday: January 18

Codename: Supergirl
PB: Lucy Hale

Abilities: Full Kyptonian invulnerability, about half super-strength, almost full super speed, other Kryptonion abilities sporadically at first but will strengthen and become reliable with strenuous practice and time.

Weaknesses and flaws: Kryptonite. Always the kryptonite, but also she is not as strong as her brother or father, so getting tossed or biting off more than she can actually handle may be a problem.

Character location/Home: Metropolis

Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero.

Team: Teen Titans (Hopefully)

Relatives: Lois Lane (Mother) Clark Kent (Father) Johnathan Kent (Grandpa) Martha Kent (Grandmother) Jon Kent (Older Brother) Kara Zor-El (cousin) Kon El (cousin)

Backstory: Despite having a brother who showed signs of being Kyrptonian since before she was born, Jo was pretty clueless to her heritage for the majority of her elementary years. She knew Jon was special, but he was just her big brother. Of course, by the time she was nine she had fully developed her mother’s sense of curiosity and began to wonder why her brother was special. It only took her a couple of months now that she was paying attention to put the pieces together and confront her parents. After that, Jo decided she never wanted to be so surprised again. She couldn’t believe she’d grown up with Superman as a father and never known.

The next four years went by for her fairly uneventfully as she picked up more and more from her mom and got involved in her middle school newspaper. Besides worrying about her dad and brother getting hurt, it didn’t bother her at all that they were ‘super’ and she wasn’t. She simply took after her mom and used her words. However, shortly before she turned fourteen, things started happening. She moved a little too fast, cracked a cup jut by picking it up, could hear the music from the car radios outside sometimes. Her abilities were erratic, hard to control and even harder to predict sometimes. It took her a year to be sure she wasn’t going to mess up and expose herself accidentally and by that time she was so frustrated that she didn’t want to attempt to use her abilities at all outside of the necessary practice to know them well enough to control them. She simply wanted to keep going as she always had, as a reporter.

Then, her father had died and Jon took up his cape.

Jo felt suddenly faced with a choice, to help the world in a more immediate way than she could with journalism, or to sit back on her heels and feel guilty for the rest of her life. She began helping out where she could anonymously and gained some tips and pointers from The Flash along the way.

After things settled down again she had wondered about stopping and returning to her quiet life, but found should couldn’t even seriously contemplate it. She still wanted to make a difference with her words, but now she also enjoyed the differences she could make every day, even if it was simple things.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?:  I’d like to keep some of her prior history, but possibly reintroduce her as a new member of the Teen Titans.

What are you planning to do with this character? I’m planning to have Jo join the Titans and use both her kryptonian abilities and her investigative mind to help combat threats while on the team, and if need be by herself. I’m planning to develop her in a way that she can balance her desire to be a reporter and her desire to use her powers to make a more immediate good in the world.

What do you want to see happen with this character?: I want to see Jo learn to balance having a normal life and a super life and growing in her abilities in both through extreme work and dedication. I also want to see her build relationship with others that she can rely on.
