It had taken him some time to finally calibrate the primitive makeshift, beacon array, but he was confident that it would work now. With a few adjustments, it was activated. Any nearby ships would pick up "Greetings. I beg your pardon, but I would very much like to speak with someone regarding passage off my current planet of residence. If you are willing to hear me out, these are my coordinates." And a list of numbers would indicate the location of the planet.

Physical description (face, build, weight): Varies but has a default of around 8-9ft tall.Is a ginat walking tree humanoid.
Age: 5, but maturity around 20

Abilities: Groot can absorb wood as food, with the ability to rebuild himself and enhance his strength. He can control trees, using them to attack others, and also appears to be resistant to fire. He is able to sprout, massively increasing his mass but also severely inhibiting his movement.

Groot has been seemingly killed on three occasions, each time regrowing from a sprig. he is also resistant to fire.

Due to Groot's lineage, he has inherited a degree of his predecessor's high intelligence, though he does not share it's areas of expertise. Groot is also able to speak various alien tongues, though this shifts based on his emotional state, in which case he reverts to his native tongue.

Weaknesses and flaws: Is very inexperience with practical knowledge of the galaxy. He has a lot of knowledge gained through his parent and from research, but nothing gained from direct experience.

Backstory: Groot the 24th is the sapling of Groot the 23rd. During an excursion in space, Groot budded and his sapling was inadvertantly left behind on an unknown world. The bud grew into a sapling. Through the birthing process of the Colossal Flora, Groot the 24th retained some knowledge of his parent and what his parent knew. However, he did not know why he was on this planet or where his parent was now. The world had little in the way of sentient life, so there was no one for him to converse with. One day he found the ruins of an old computer system, and used it to teach himself much of the wider galaxy. Currently he is studying and working on a makeshift communications device to make contact with other intelligent life and hopefully take him off the planet to see what is out there.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Activates a makeshift beacon picked up on by the GOTG.
What are you planning to do with this character? Meets the GOTG, convinces them to take him offworld.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Aside from seeing the galaxy, he sees the good the team does and formally joins.
