Casimir was once a fully darkened, pledged male. It is unknown that he had pledged to Heksenketel. He was in love with and betrothed to Aina. Casimir met an untimely end which may have been accidental or the result of an illness. He moved on to be a ghost and has been wrecking havoc with Aina's love life, though she's not aware of this.

Danae is the Head Witch and Tribal Leader. She is the mother of Serene and grandmother to Helen and Heidi. She knows about her second granddaughter, though she is not supposed to. She was contemplating handing down her duties of Head Witch and Tribal Leader and retiring to a more quiet life with less responsibility when she was killed by Ianthe (who had been blackmailed into doing so by Levi). Levi ensured that she would not become a ghost by using his abilities to condition her not to want to hang on after death.

Kouzelnice: Neutral Light Witches
Holly is a funny Kouzelnice witch who glamours her hair red because she likes it better than having black hair. She is Isis' cousin. She is having serious flirtations with Ligeia of the Vatnadis and is rather conflicted by it.

Claudette is the twin sister of Aina. While her sister chose to become a vampire, Claudette remained a witch. She has yet to darken. She is close friends with Marina but is unaware of the woman's feelings for her. She has a very tenuous relationship with her sister and mourns the fact that she became a vampire. She is undecided about what she will do with herself since she hasn't darkened yet. She can't imagine life without magic, but she's getting frustrated of waiting.

Marina is a quiet witch who has a serious crush on Claudette. She has yet to darken. She is actually a selkie whose pelt was stolen by Levi for some purpose. Her memory of this may have been erased. She has a deep love of the sea.

Serene is the mother of Helen, Gisele and Heidi. Former lover of Levi. She is dying, but refuses to tell her mother (Danae) or children. She's a Kouzelnice. She did not hide her first pregnancy and birthed Heidi, a peculiar girl with vast power. She realized how dangerous it could be and did not handle the ridicule of being a single mother well (as she was never willing to tell who the father of Heidi was). She met a witch and had a child with him, Gisele. Later her affair resumed with Levi and she became pregnant again. She smartly hid the pregnancy and sent Helen to live with her father (partially because she was born with wings, but also because no one knew she'd been pregnant). She made Levi swear to never tell her about her mother and sisters. Levi reluctantly took the girl and has kept the secret since.

Heksenketel: Chaotic Dark Witches

Heidi is the daughter of Levi and Serene. She is not aware of her father's identity or that she has another sister, nor her powers as part Enkeli. A powerful Heksenketel witch who darkened at a very young age. Her magic was unstable so she was moved to Isis' house to live and practice magic. She had a number of scraps growing up and is often at the center of trouble, simply because of the nature of her magic.

Isis is a promising Heksenketel witch who tutored Heidi and helped her through the early years of chaotic, dark magic. She may be named as Head Witch. Isis is in love with Daevas of the Vatnadis and mother to Lilaea of the same tribe. This peculiar little family shares a cabin at the edge of the lake. She is Holly's older cousin.

Fidelis is one of the few men to darken and also be pledged as Heksenketel. He has an air of maturity, as if he knows things far beyond his youth. He can be arrogant at times, assuming his vision will allow him to see all things before they transpire. He is terribly attracted to Heidi.
