May loved long weekends...especially Thanksgiving break. No classes, no homework, and lots of food. She went patrolling but she'd spent the whole weekend at her parents'. Sure, it sucked that Austin couldn't make it, but she knew he sometimes had to be on the road for months at a time. And he'd been on the road for a month now. They talked every night, but it wasn't the same.

When May came back to their brownstone that night from patrol, she hopped straight into the shower. When she got out, she put her bathrobe on and went in to the bedroom. She put on the tv and flopped onto the bed.

Austin hadn't called yet. She didn't know when he would, but hoped he would soon...or just come home.

May Parker has been fighting crime in New York City for about six months now, sticking to mostly low-level crimes, such as muggings, to avoid grabbing the attention of any of the heroes in the area, the press, or worse, her parents, who made her promise that she would never pursue a career in superheroing. Unable to resist the urge to put her powers to use for the greater good, however, May has been sneaking off at night after gymnastic team practices at ESU to patrol the streets, doing her best to keep hidden from prying eyes.

However, having recently designed a better costume for herself, May has began to start breaking up "higher profiled" crimes, such as bank robberies, still going out at only night, making sure that she's out of the sight before the police appear on the scene. Leaving the police finding criminals outside of the bank, caught in a spider-web outside of the bank.

Scene one: Elizabeth Faraday (icon is in nextgen_misc, the protege of J. Jonah Jameson and current editor and chief of the Daily Buggle publishes a front-page article entitled "The Return of the Web-Swinging Menace?", implying that Spider-Man has come out of retirement, with a picture of the bank robbers in a giant spider-web on the cover. This will be open to reactions. Also, Peter, seeing the article, calls May at school, thinking that she's going against her parent's wishes. May insists that it's not her, saying that it's probably Spider-Woman or a fan who developed technology similar to Peter's. Peter, giving his daughter the benefit of the doubt, lets it go for the time being, but puts a call out to the Avengers to keep an eye peeled for May...just in case.

Scene two: May is at the First National Bank putting money into her savings account when Lady Octopus and Green Goblin crash in, determined to rob the bank. May, seeing people in danger, and not caring if people see her, slips out to change into her Spider-Girl costume. The three begin to fight, while in the mean time, the manager of the bank has put out a call to Avengers. A small group of the Avengers show up (doesn't matter to me which, though I would like to throw out a request for Vernique, for an idea that I have later in the plot), and help (much to her distaste) May fight off Lady Octopus and Green Goblin. As soon as the fight is over, May web-swings before the Avengers can say anything to her. Little to her knowledge, though, the Avengers send Vernique after May to follow her. Vernique follows May back to the abandoned alleyway where she changed into her Spider-Girl costume. There, Vernique witnesses May taking off her mask, revealing her to be Spider-Girl. Vernique returns to the Avengers and tells them to inform Peter that his daughter has moonlighting as Spider-Girl.

Scene three: May receives a call from the Avengers telling her to come to Avenger's mansion. She arrives, in her Spider-Girl costume...only to find Peter and Mary Jane waiting there for her. Peter and MJ pull their daughter aside, disappointed that she went against their wishes. The three of them have a long conversation, May convincing her parents that this is what she feels like she was born to do, and doesn't feel like she should be putting her powers to waste by not helping people out. Peter, seeing that she's right, agrees with her, and agrees to let her continue fighting crime as Spider-Girl. After her parents leave, the Avengers extend May an offer of membership and to stay and train with them. May declines the offer, though they tell her that the offer still stands, should she ever wish to join them.

Over all, the point of this plot is to establish Spider-Girl as an independent hero and get May into the swing of things on the street scene. Also makes for some interesting conflict with the Rose Red gang, as Lady Oc and Goblin will have no doubt informed their leader about the new Web-Swinger on the scene.

Also...I'm gonna need a couple of temps! I can cover Faraday, as her scene is going to be brief. I do however temps for the following....

Lady Octopus-
Green Goblin-
Peter-
MJ-

And I will take any volunteers for Avengers that want to get in on the scene with May, Lady Oc, and Goblin, though I'd like to keep the group fairly small, four tops, counting Vernique.

Info on Lady Octopus and Green Goblin can be found here.

Thanks in advance to everyone that helps out with this plot!

-Allie
Has shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.
Age: 17
Birthday: November 20th
PB: Kristen Stewart
Abilities:
<list>
Spider-Sense: An extrasensory "danger" or "spider" sense which warns her of potential immediate danger by the manifestation of a tingling sensation in the back of her skull, and links with her superhuman kinesthetics, enabling her to evade most any injuries, unless she cognitively overrides her automatic reflexes.
Wall-Crawling: Can mentally control the flux of inter-atomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers, allowing her to stick to surfaces, thus providing her "wall-crawling" abilities.
Possess the proportionate strength, speed, and agility of a spider. While unable to lift ten ton like Peter, May has been shown to be more agile than her father.
Superhuman Equilibrium: Can achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable.
Superhuman Reflexes: Enhanced and about forty times greater than the average humans, combined with her spider-sense, she can dodge almost any attack.
Limited healing factor: While not on the same level as Wolverine, it is strong enough to where she can recover from broken bones and large amounts of tissue damage within hours.
Organic webbing: Can organically produce webbing from the glands in her forearms. The strength of the webbing relies on her body's psychical state at the time and nutrition.
May has had years of both gymnastics and ballet.
While certainly not on the "genius" level, May's intellect and intelligence are higher than most her age.
</list>
Weaknesses and flaws: Above anything, May can very cocky when she's sure of herself in a situation. May most also use certain levels of concentration to both produce and maintain her webbing.
Character location/Home: New York City, freshman at ESU
Alignment (villain, hero etc): Hero- Independent
Relatives (living/dead?): Peter Parker/Spider-Man (father), Mary Jane Watson Parker (mother), Benjamin Parker (younger brother), May Parker (great aunt), Ben Parker (great uncle, deceased)
Backstory: May Parker is the first child born to Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson-Parker. When May was about three years old, Peter hung up his Spider-Man suit for good, and the family moved to Forest Hills so that May could have a "normal" childhood. However, like most children her age, she was told stories of the Avengers and the other superheroes...though most of them seemed to have a Spider-Man centric theme to them.

Peter's past adventures as a famous superhero were kept from May until she was ten years old, when she in the attic looking for Christmas decorations and under-covered an extremely well hidden box in the corner of the attic containing Peter's Spider-Man suit and web-shooters. May brought the box down to her parents, and after swearing not to tell anyone, Peter told May about his legacy as Spider-Man. After this, May began to doodle herself as "The Spectacular Spider-Girl" and dream and hope that she inherited her father's abilities, while Peter and MJ wished just the opposite. It was also around this time that MJ was pregnant with May's younger brother, Ben.

By time that she turned fifteen, both May and her parents began to believe that she would never inherit Peter's spider powers (to her parent's relief and her dismay). One day, however, before the regional gymnastics competition that May had spent months preparing for, she woke up the morning before to find herself covered in webbing. Estatic, May told her parents, and Peter, seeing that he had no choice, began to train his daughter to control and use her powers-after making her promise that she wouldn't sneak out in the middle of the night to go fight crime.

May is currently a freshman at ESU (having skipped the first grade, thus putting her ahead of those her age), where she is majoring in chemistry. Recently, May has started going out at night after gymnastics practice to fight crime, sticking towards of a smaller scale such as muggings.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: I'd love to have her go up against one of the new street-type villains, as she's just finding her footing as a superhero and it would not only hilarious but a lot of fun to have her "accidentally" stumble across something that's out of her normal area of expertise.
What are you planning to do with this character?: Hero shenanigans.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: Eventually, I'd like to see her become known to the rest of the superhero community. While I don't see her joining any teams in the future, I'd love to have her maybe be an ally of the Avengers from time to time.

Sample post:
May tip-toed back into her dorm room, careful not to wake her roommate. Once again, she'd had a full night of breaking up muggings and stopping purse snatchers in the area.

She had a long coat on, and was careful not to unzipper it in the room, just in case her roommate woke up. May leaned over to turn her lamp so that she could find where she put her shower caddy....

"Where you out late again?" Her roommate said, rolling over in bed, groggily rubbing at her eyes.

"Yeah," May said, "I was....in the gym working on a new floor routine for Saturday's meet."

She'd used that excuse about a good ten or so time already.

"M'okay....goodnight..." Her roommate rolled over so that her back was facing May.

Grabbing her shower caddy, May silently made her way into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

First things first, she thought, as she took off her coat, Make up better excuses to tell Trisha so she doesn't think I've been having an orgy in some guy's dorm room or on a binger.

May glanced down at her "costume", which was basically just an old red ballet leotard with a Spider-Man symbol on it and a matching pair of red tights. The "mask" which was an old red ski mask was in her pocket.

Second, work on making a costume that doesn't suck so much.
