in character.
hello my name is Adam Wolfe. Call me Wolfe.
my major is conducting/composition
my age/year is 19 // freshman
i come from New York City

one Yeah man, I'm from the city. You know. The City. Listen, if you're ever in Lower Manhattan? Look me up, man, that whole city knows my name. We'll party.

two You might say music's in my blood, you know? My dad's Allegro alum, violin performance. He could've been somebody, really really been somebody. He gave it up to teach though, the whole family and kids thing. He's the one who taught me music when I was a kid.

three My sister, Nan, she's older than me, and my dad was trying to help her with her violin stuff. I was, like, three at the time, and I started throwing a fit that I wasn't allowed to play. So to shut me up, my dad put the violin in my hands and ever since then I've played it.

four Violin was the first instrument I got really good with. I was invited to tour when I was a kid, me and my sister. We went to a lot of the major cities. It was fun, but so tiring. I missed out on a decent chunk of school because of it, that's why I'm a year behind.

five I also play the piano, the viola, and the clarinet, but none as well as the violin.

six Which is why I'm a comp/conduct major. Performance is all well and good, but you can only play one instrument at once. I want to play them all.

seven So yeah, I guess you could say I'm ambitious. I don't go in for all that modesty shit, you know? It's like. Man, if I'm good enough to get into Allegro, then I'm good enough to have a shot at being the best of the best. I'm already better than anyone else in my year at violin, so it won't take long until I'm the best composer and conductor too.

eight Plus, I'm a people-person. I dunno, they just generally seem to like me. Girls especially.

nine That doesn't keep me from having my own dorm to myself though. Even people as charasmatic and friendly as me need a little breathing space. When I'm in there and the door's shut? That means don't bother me.

ten Also, whoever keeps banging the hell out of the pianos in the practice rooms needs to cut it the hell out. How is anyone else supposed to figure out their stuff when all we can hear is them banging through the soundproof walls? If it happens one more time I'm going over there.

shh So the other day I was walking home through that snow, and all of a sudden I hear this totally pathetic noise coming from a snowdrift. I'm talking total heartbroken little cry. So I walk over, right, and there's the ugliest little cat you've ever seen laying stranded in the middle of a snowdrift. Scrawny, black fur with patches missing, only one eye. Seriously man, this cat was like, not more than a handful. I pick it up, tuck it into my jacket, off we go. I've been keeping him in the dorm ever since. I know pets aren't allowed, but fuck, what else am I supposed to do?
