Sturgis Podmore : Hit Wizard ([info]podmore) wrote in [info]valesco,
Blooding fecking hell!

Sturgis had seen more action the last fifteen minutes than he cared to acknowledge. It had all started at the Order house. He and Thomas had popped over to check on the wards during their patrol, only to happen upon a Death Eater on the grounds near the house. The world around them had been disturbingly quiet and then they both saw it -- the howling funnel cloud lowering from the sky.

Even with their wands already out, they had difficulty getting off hexes and jinxes, blocking counter-spells, and attempting to cease the tornado all at once. If there hadn't been two of the two of them there -- well, Sturgis didn't care or have time to think on that one, right now. The barely had a chance to breathe, check wounds (which were minimal, thankfully), and send off patronuses to the rest of the Order when the messengers had come flying at them at a rapid fire pace. It was then that they knew this attack was bigger than just one Death Eater.

As the messages flashed through them, one voice in particular stuck out to Sturgis. He heard Marissa and she sounded shaky -- this was not a girl who got shaky. After trading a quick game-plan with Thomas (they were spliting up to protect Order members and get them to the house), he was apparating back to the Ministry and that's when things really went awry.

Sturgis popped in on mass chaos and panic in the lobby. The lifts weren't working. People were rushing to the floos where crowds were forming along with fights. The weather was all wonky -- it was snowing in the lobby, there were face-beating gusts of wind in the stairwell -- and there were a few creatures running about. He fought his way against the people on the stairwell to get to Marissa's floor and made a mad dash for the committee office.

The office was one giant mess. Everything was pitched and overturned like a giant had used the place for a playroom. "Marissa?," Sturgis shouted as he started to search for her among the desks and debris.
