w i l l ☠ ([info]willss) wrote in [info]valesco,
Will blinked, Anneliese's hand knocking him out of his silent reverie. He followed her gesture and nodded. His eyes narrowed and he let out a slight laugh, "Wadcock's dating some girl from my year," he noted, amused that Mira found herself with another big mouth Gryffindor. Oh, well.

His thoughts had been quite clouded this past week. They'd been swept up in the news of the attack on the Longbottoms, and here they were, at some grand party full of celebrities who, speaking for 95% of the crowd, had had no interaction with the actual war, but were so thrilled for it to be over. Will had once been so jealous of this life, and he still was, but for far different reasons now. What demons did Seth Wadcock have to deal with other than some women he's shagged and dumped on the corner?

Will was not happy about the fate of the Longbottoms. When Emmeline had seen him he'd felt pathetic and ashamed, even though he'd had nothing to do with the attacks. Will had hated Frank, but he had always kept the battle between them as...auror versus death eater. He'd remained neutral in all other aspects of life, and now with his distance from the Dark Lord in France, Will had been feeling more like an auror than anything and...his loyalties had been conflicted.

He had another child on the way, a girl, and Will had been so silently grateful that someone had found a way to destroy Voldemort. He could live the life he'd wanted to for so long without any despicable obligations, and he could stop lying to Anneliese. The attacks on the Longbottoms broke Will out of his bubble of happiness and had snapped him back to a dreary reality.

It was never going to be over, he was never going to put his past behind him.

Will smiled though, for Anneliese, and put his hand to his mouth to whisper, "Don't look now, but I think McLaggen's got his eye on you."
