AU: Demons run when a good man goes to war.
Father was dead, but there was no time for the family to cry. Magneto was dead, but there was no time for the nation to grieve. The survival of their country was at risk.

So Giovanna walked into the room where her angel was sitting in conference with others, trying to keep Genosha as stable as concievable at this point.

"Sir," she said, formally. "Our allies have a large number of HYDRA and AIM operatives under arrest, but several of the leaders escaped and are rallying their forces...in Russia."

"If all we're going for is sanest, that doesn't put a lot of pressure on." he jokes lightly. "I've also had a lifetie to prepare for this, where it wasn't exactly my grandfather's intent for most of his life."

Still kissing and cuddling, Gio carefully dismantles her psychic shielding, so she can pick up on the barest of emotional traces from Andrew. "Right. And keep people calm. Remind them the murderers have been Dealt With."

Not that she's sure they'll all really be dealt with, but they did their best.

Andrew is dealing with losing his grandfather the way he usually deals with things - compartmentalization, and burying himself in plans, and dealing with the trauma when he has the brainspace for it - which is on and off right now, amidst worry for her, knowing how close she was to her father. Even now, his first thoughts are still for her and their nation, while he snuggles up with her and thinks ahead.

She's not surprised, and she loves him for it. "Always let me know if there's anything I can do, Andrew. I... I need to be able to do things." She wasn't as good as he was at dividing up her mind, but Being Useful was always an emotional balm.

He nods, getting back to details. "Set up a new security detail. We no longer have Magneto's ability to detect large amounts of metal and energy incoming... and obviously people have found ways to beat it. Our enemies will be testing us repeatedly, as they'll think they see weakness. We need to confirm to the people that we have their best interests and safety in mind."
