AIM : Sicilytremaine
Character Name: Elodie LeBeau
Character LJ: N/A
Physical description (face, build, weight): Moderately curvy and padded, but muscled underneath. Only about 5’5’’ in height, 140-ish in weight. Full lips, brown slightly curly hair.
Age: 18
Birthday: April 24
PB: Kat Dennings
Abilities:
El’s able to absorb and convert energy into other types of energy or simply thrust it back at her opponent. She can absorb pretty much any kind of energy thrown at her, and can use it to propel herself, defend, or attack in battle, but her body isn’t invulnerable so she runs the risk of burns when confronting certain types of energy. Most of the time the energy she collects can be used to regenerate her cells and heal her, but she’s still learning how to use some aspects of her power. Converting energies takes more of her concentration, and is difficult for her to manage under pressure, though she’s working on that.
In addition to her actual mutant ability, her mother and father have made sure that Elodie can defend herself if she finds herself without it. Remy also taught his daughter how to thieve, lock pick, and play cards like a master.
Weaknesses and flaws: Extremely low temperatures can slow her down as it makes molecules move with less energy. It’s easy for her to absorb and directly reflect energy back out, but trying to convert it into another form or simply disperse it without a disturbance is a challenge that increases by amount of the original energy absorbed. If forced to continuously absorb energy with no safe outlet, the results could be explosive. What she can hold internally without expelling is growing the more she uses her ability, but eventually with no outlet she will overflow.
Though skin contact with her is by no means as dangerous as it is with her mother, if El is tired, weakened, or otherwise upset there’s a high chance that she will accidentally leech energy from anyone who comes into skin-on-skin contact with her. The danger with this is that besides slowly regaining her strength, and the other person slowly becoming more and more tired, there are none of the other symptoms that Rogue suffers from when she comes in contact with someone. El does not receive their memories or their mutant abilities. Depending on the ability, it may provide El with a greater ‘charge’ and the other mutant may tire less quickly. Normal humans, and mutants who don’t have an ‘active’ ability would find themselves effected more quickly than ones such as, say Scott Summers who has added energy in the form of his lasers.
Character location/Home: Formerly Alabama, now New York
Alignment: Hero
Relatives : Remy LeBeau/Gambit (living), Rogue (living)
Backstory:
Though Rogue’s pregnancy was a bit of a surprise, it was not an unwelcome one, and after informing Remy of her intentions she left the Institute to travel south and purchase a small house in which to raise her child. Remy followed trailing in and out of Rogue’s and Elodie’s lives with relatively goodwill from all sides, until shortly after Elodie’s seventh birthday when their house was broken into. After realizing he wasn’t dealing with normal humans, the man attempted to use little El as leverage to make his escape. In the ensuing scuffle Elodie’s mutation manifested, and Remy came to realize that something like the break-in could happen again and he might not be there to help protect his family. It’s enough to make him a permanent resident in the house.
That doesn’t mean everything was sunshine and roses all of the time. Remy and Rogue fought loudly and often over how El should be raised and who had the right to make decisions for her well fare. Often the fights led to one of them taking off for a week or two to give both of them the chance to calm down. It wasn’t a perfect home, but El grew up loved greatly and loves both of her parents very much.
After being home schooled for half of elementary school and all of middle school in order to get her mutation in check well enough to go to school all day, she insisted on attending the public high school, where she began to think of life beyond their small home and town. When Elodie said she wanted to go out of state and up north for school, her parents suggested that she go to New York and contact the Xavier Institute after she settled in to see if they could help her gain even more control over her abilities than her parents had been able to. As many tales and as much encouragement as she’s gotten from her parents to go at least look at the Institute while in New York, El keeps putting it off. In part, because she doesn’t want to be disappointed if they can’t help her, but also because her parents have been the only two mutants she’s ever known, and she’s not sure how to act around others.
How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: I plan to introduce her as either a new comer to New York City, or possibly since the reboot is going on finding her a team to be on as the game re-initiates.
What are you planning to do with this character?: I’m planning for El to grow from a small town mutant, into a powerful young woman with friends and allies that she knows she can use her unique abilities to help, whether it be to save the world, or save a BBQ.
What do you want to see happen with this character?: I’d like to see El join a team and learn to control her abilities and expand them to help others, as well as be able to interact with other mutants around her age group.
