The Best Laid Plans...
Gotham was a city that was home to drug lords, gangs, organized crime and other criminal types. Tomas, Carolyn and Iota didn't pay mind to the others and were focused on the drug dealers. There was a major shipment arriving at the docks this evening and the three of them were going to stop it.

Manasa stood perched on the roof of a dockside warehouse waiting. The time to move would come soon. The ship carrying the drugs was just docking.

	This is Tomas' war. He knows the girls are just along to help him... but they're family. His sister is along for the fun of it, his niece, well, because he was here. He's long since stopped trying to protect them, and they'd been demolishing the cartels bit by bit. Gotham was just the latest stop. "Not yet. Let them tie down." (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Tomas communicates with Iota via hand gestures, splitting up the group to make sure they clear all the sentry posts. He'd do the same with Carolyn, but has long since stopped needing to do even that. They can read each other like a book by now. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	They can't risk an alarm going up. Not yet. Tomas takes his side. Normally, he'd kill these people. Tied in with drug dealers and the cartels... but when running with his sister and Iota, he usually respects their wishes. As such, a quick chop to the back of a neck silences one guard, the other choked out to unconsciousness before he can shout into their coms. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

It doesn't bother Iota that Tomas kills people. She isn't entirely unwilling to do so herself. But Momma and Mae have advised trying to minimize the heat in certain situations, and if one can do without, all the better. Leaving the rest to Tomas and Carolyn, Iota knocks out one last sentry in her way as she flits onto the ship and uses the awl of the Lamentation Blades to tear into the container.

	Eventually, there's nothing for it. Cracking open the shipments makes noise. They just had to take down as many people to even the odds as possible. And just like they designed it, as soon as attention shifts to Iota, Tomas takes the distraction and leaps into the largest mass of people. And meanwhile, the shipment is... empty? Tomas turns, surveying the surrounding rooftops, and seeing telltale glints, now that he looks. Someone knew they'd be coming. He'd surveyed the area, scoped it out, checked the security. Anyone using more than one of these buildings would need to have an in with port security... high level stuff. Smuggling things through one warehouse was entirely doable, setting up something this big, and stationing people across a range of buildings to cut off all avenues of escape and find sight lines... is not cartel style.

"Snipers!" he calls, taking a couple hits in his distraction, but managing to pull one of his attackers into the way to take a dart for him.

Huh, someone set them up, and isn't afraid to fire into the melee... because they're using knockout rounds. This is bad.

	The efforts are solid - but eventually, sniper training and all the sight lines catch up. Tomas is still up and fighting, but its slowing down - caused by the dart sticking out of one shoulder. His movements are slowing, and its becoming easier for someone else to draw a bead on him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The tossed man is a problem, but there's clearly been a lot of practice going into this, as the one targeted turns and braces for the impact while his colleagues reinforce and shift Iota's arm as she tries to slice into him at the opportunity. 	The main effect of her cousins' helping her is how scarred some of those involved are going to be, nothing more, nothing useful. Even with her evercheerfulness, Iota will be a long time forgetting that. She, too, falls unconscious. With her metabolism, she'll be the first one awake, her blades replaced by restraints. 	He can't help but appreciate the situation. Of course the US Government wants them - their own war on drugs is going so well, after all. "Work for you, or be shipped to where we'll be executed.
