Pete Wentz has always gotten along quite well with his mom and siblings. Okay, the sibling part might be a little much. He likes them, but they can annoy the everloving hell out of him. His dad, on the other hand, was never really much more than a provider for the family, and hardly that. Growing up with a lawyer for a father as well as an at-home mother has been stressful, but he's learned to make it through that.
Pete learned about Arts Academy after a long run with his dad about going into political science. It interested him, but he would have been happier playing music. Finally he found the school while browsing around on the internet, and when he showed it to his parents, they reluctantly agreed. However, when it was time for him to go, his father blocked the doorway and asked him one last time if he was really sure.
Pete finally arrived at Arts Academy and started making friends quickly. He is a very outgoing and open-minded person usually, and people noticed. He is also very sweet and usually considerate of others. The first person he started talking to at Arts was fellow student Pixie Acia, who would change his perspective of what relationships encompassed. They were immediate friends and a few days after, they were going out.
Pixie Acia and Frank Iero, the former music teacher's assistant, both made a drastic change in his life. Frank served as his mentor, almost, and gave him advice on life and love. Pixie served as his first true love, and helped him through issues that nobody else knew about, like his habit of not eating and his insomnia. Other people served as specific characters in his life, like Gael Bernal, the Spanish teacher, served as an opening to his diverse sexuality. Jon Walker, fellow student, served as his first real male crush and a close friend.
Pete and Pixie finally broke it off months later when she was forced to leave by at-home issues, and Pete's heart was crushed. He moped for a few days until Miss Greta Salpeter, dance major, entered Arts Academy. He took quite a fancy with her and asked her to the Halloween dance, which she agreed to. He thought she was beautiful and would have asked her out if he had not found another boy at the Halloween dance who caught his eye. Greta found the two kissing and abandoned the party after Pete apologized to her.
Pixie finally came back to Arts after a while and Pete realized it was probably the best for both of them if they moved on. He understood that she was his first love and that he really needed to try to see other people than just her. Broaden his horizons, or something like that. She reluctantly agreed and the two of them went their separate ways. Pixie dropped back out of Arts, and Pete was pulled out of Arts to come home for a while by his mother. He ended up in a Best Buy parking lot by himself with a handful of Ativan and a head full of unwanted thoughts, and when his parents found him, they took the irrational route and sent him to boot camp.
Boot camp changed Pete from that sweet, outgoing dude, to a introverted, snappy teenager with a depressive streak and low self-esteem. He wasn't as open with his emotions and the way he treated people at boot camp was the way he treated people at Arts when he finally arrived back. However, Jon broke through that barrier for a while and promised different things to Pete, like how they would be together and how Jon wanted to take Pete's butt-sex virginity. Pete was openly interested in everything Jon was saying.
Patrick Stump followed Pete back to Arts, because he was interested in the school. It had to be good if Pete kept going back, right? Pete and Patrick immediately got as close as they were in Chicago, and if anything, Pete made Patrick really jealous with all his talk of Jon Walker this, Jon Walker that. Patrick finally admitted his feelings for Pete, which confused the both of them. After this, Pete coincidentally swallowed a bunch of Ambien and fought sleep until Patrick was there to take him to the hospital, where they spent the New Year, and where Pete gave Patrick their first kiss together. Pete found himself stuck between Jon and Patrick for a while before realizing that Jon was only hurting him.
Patrick and Pete were moved into a room together and Pete finally admitted that he thought of Patrick as more than just a friend, more than just a fuck buddy. He refers to Patrick as his better half, and eventually they ended up getting together. Pete realizes now that he needs help and he's back in Chicago just for that, as well as to get his head together about Patrick. Patrick got there just after Pete as well, and Pete proposed marriage for the two of them someday. Patrick said neither yes nor no, which caused Pete to start re-evaluating everything he’s been working towards with Patrick.
After his re-evaluation, Pete realized he would do anything for Patrick. At the same time, though, their relationship started to become a little stressed. Patrick had class after class of work, and Pete was always wanting to see his boyfriend. He talked to Patrick about it and Patrick started to try to work with Pete on it. Eventually the subject never came up again.
Now, Pete and Patrick have broken up and Pete is back with Pixie, who arrived back at the school and made Pete question his relationship with Patrick on many levels. He's happy, although it can be very awkward sharing a dorm room with his ex. Pete manages.
