Checking his watch, Samir nodded and took the lead closer to where Headmaster Sato was giving his speech. His voice became clearer as they approached green and Samir stopped a little to the side of most of the crowd, next to the school's librarian who smiled warmly at the pair. Smiling back, he gave Gemma's hand a brief squeeze and faced the headmaster with apparent rapture at whatever he was saying.
