Surprise, surprise, she found herself all along on Christmas night. Her dad and brother had gotten into a ridiculous fight over dinner and both stormed off. Kai went to work where he would probably get drunk in his office and sleep it off until the next morning. Keoni flooed back to campus where he would sulk for the rest of the vacation and so there she was. Snuggled with her teddy bear from her secret santa (though she was pretty sure she knew who it was) and in her pajamas, Meka decided that she was sick of spending Christmas like this and texted the first person who came to mind.

After Sim said he was coming over, she began to panic. She had gotten him a gift earlier in the week and had intended to give it to him once they got back to school but her own impatience had her inviting him over. Her stomach was doing flips and her hands shook as she waited for his arrival. She really didn't think to get herself ready more than just pouring herself another cup of coffee and taking deep breaths. What was she going to do when he got there?! What would she even say? She had re-read the text messages at least ten times, trying to decipher anything from them. Had he been flirting with her? Was he insane? Was she insane? She had to tuck her phone into the cushions of the couch to avoid looking at it for much longer.
