Parents Weekend, Quodpot, Quidditch & Safety Measures @ 02:47 pm

[info]blueridgefac:

Good afternoon students!

It has been a week since the explosion at the end of parent's weekend and much to our satisfaction, we have discovered no other dangers or threats against the school. With the aurors and security on rounds, we can all rest assured that we are safe.

With that all settled, our qoudpot season kicked off this past Friday and I would like to extend the warmest thanks to those who came out to the game as last year's champions Appalachia took on Roanoke. Appalachia delivered a thorough win lead by their captain Sol Garcia. Miss Garcia remained firm that "Discipline and summer training is what helped us pull off a great start to the season. We're all really excited to be on the field again and we can't wait for our next game!" With the way the team played, we're all excited to see Appalachia hit the field again as well.

All three of the Quidditch teams played. Team One and Team Two, as always were quite evenly matched but Team One pulled off a last minute win when their seeker plucked the snitch out of the air. The University Team met on the home field against The California College of Magic and brought home a massive victory. Blind side beater, Mackenzie Dubinksy said "Well of course we won! Not that losin' is really possible for us anyway, but since when was the west coast any good at Quidditch? Freakin' wimps." This sort of confidence rang throughout the whole team, it's not wonder they took the win without a fight.

Please join us next Friday for Shenandoah v. Shawnee and again on Saturday as the University Quodpot team takes on their first game against The California College of Magic.

A brief reminder that homecoming is just three weeks away with elections being two weeks off. Get ready to make suggestions for the days that you want to see during spirit week!

Students will be reminded that your safety is the number one priority for the institute and as such, we will be adding LAW trained aurors to the staff to make sure we are all safe. All aurors will be wearing black uniforms and they will have their official ID badges visible at all times. Do not be alarmed as these aurors show up around campus and do your best not to distract them. In these trying times, the staff must ask that students remain vigilant and well behaved.

Remember, if you see or hear anything suspicious it is imminent that you tell a faculty member right away. This is our home and all of us have a responsibility to keep it safe.

Thank you very much for your time and efforts students!

-Headmaster Ichirou Sato
