So far, the night had gone pretty well in Charlie's opinion. Alex had, of course, been disgusted with her outfit and date, but that was nothing really new. Charlie was just glad to be there with Jenny, even if she had caught the older girl staring sadly at Sera a few times. She had been watching how much she drank, yet another reason that Alex was irritated, mostly because she knew Jenny didn't drink. She didn't feel like being so trashed that she made the older girl feel uncomfortable, but she was floating on a nice buzz by the time midnight rolled around.

She had grabbed Jenny's hand excitedly when the whole house had started counting down, and dragged her to the living room so they could watch the ball drop. Plopping her new years top hat down on the shorter girl's head, she wrapped a lanky arm around her shoulders. It had been an internal debate she had been having all night, what to do at midnight. At first, her original plan had been to just play it safe and give the girl a hug, but now that she had a few drinks in her, she was feeling a bit bolder.

"Is it alright if I kiss you?" She asked, leaning in close to the shorter girl's ear as the count reached ten.
