Quodpot, quidditch, watch groups, new staff @ 09:19 pm
Hello students and staff!
This week's birthday calendar is quite a bit smaller than last weeks! On Sunday the 21st, Sasha Starikov of Quirank will be celebrating his seventeenth birthday! On Tuesday the 24th, make sure you stop and wish a happy seventeenth birthday to Charlie Baker of Shenandoah as well.
Last week, on Friday night, Roanoke met Quirank on the field and after a close game, the two teams had to go into overtime! The first overtime game of the season! It was a brutal battle to the end but Roanoke came out on top after a stunning play by Erica Kauffman and Apple Evans. The junior and senior won the game for the team. "It was really dope," says senior Apple Evans. "I didn't even see it coming then all the sudden Erica was there and I was like oh sweet! And bang, victory baby!"
Saturdays games were just as exciting. As Team One and Team Two faced off, there was a tenseness in the air that was tangible. Team Two may have been taking Team One too lately when they returned from break but that was not the case on Saturday! After a gruelling match, Team Two took home the victory. The University quodpot team took on the New York City College of Magic and beat them in a rather quick game. It was a hands down victory to the University quidditch team!
This weeks games were terribly exciting as well! Shawnee took on Appalachia and though Shawnee came out swinging, Appalachia took home another victory, leaving them undefeated again! Sunny Garcia and her team are very excited to continue taking on the other four teams! "We're hoping that this will lead to another championship!" she says brightly. Saturday afternoon the University Quodpot team took on the New York University of Magic. Blue Ridge was right out the gate and after the first half it was clear that Blue Ridge were going to be the victors. They brought home another win! Be sure to join us next week when Shenandoah takes on Roanoke and for the quidditch games on Saturday!
In more serious news students, there were some most disturbing finds after the first night watch. Friday night, team one found human remains in the woods, very close to the school boarder. It has not been determined where these remains came from but the aurors are investigating. Team three saw a mysterious figure in the woods and gave chase but the person got away. We, on the staff, would like to remind students that this is a most serious environment and we need to take care of each other. If you know anymore information about anything or if you see any suspicious activity, it is dire that you tell someone on staff as soon as possible. Please, please, please, do not leave campus grounds without a group and do not wander in the woods alone at night. It is most important to keep yourself and your friends safe.
There has been an addition to the staff, as most of you will have noticed. Professor Sawyer Gray will be taking over as Head of Shenandoah and she will be taking over advanced herbology. She is the late Amelia Gray's daughter and an old friend of mine. I know you herbology and Shenandoah students are in good hands. I had a chance to sit down with her and talk. "I'm really excited to be a part of the Blue Ridge staff. It's great to be back on campus," she said. "My office is open all the time so if you want to drop in for a talk, you're more than welcome." Let's all make Professor Gray feel right at home at Blue Ridge.
Stay safe students and staff.
