Their last encounter had been the homecoming dance, where Mack had drunkenly threatened him and tried to fight him. It wasn't exactly the best basis for meeting again, exactly under these circumstances. She glared at him through her hands. "What the fuck am I doing awake this early?"

She got back onto her feet and peeked out from her fingers to see if Sam was decent again. When she was assured his goods were covered, she dropped her hand from her face and crossed her arms. "I could ask you the same question, punk." She narrowed her eyes at him. "But first, I'm going to ask you the obvious question here. What the fuck are you doing out this early naked?" she looked up at the cut on his face as well, "and injured?"
