Mackenzie watched as the boy shrank away from her, observing his reaction to the news. He was muttering something that Mackenzie couldn't quite catch. Mack didn't want to admit it, but he was acting guilty. It was enough to put her on alert, and she could feel herself shift into auror mode. It was usually reserved for her classes and missions but this was starting to make her uneasy.
Getting in the boys face, she poked at his chest, provoking him. "My girlfriend got attacked, don't act like that doesn't mean something to me, punk. I will figure out what is going on around here."
She fixed him with a cold glare, "Now, I'm going to ask you one more time, because I am not as stupid as you wish I was. Is there something you would like to tell me? Or am I going to have to start drawing conclusions of my own?" She tapped at her chin, taking a step back. "Let's see, my girlfriend gets attacked by an over sized animal. She thinks it looks like a wolf. Granted, she was upset at the time and small, so it could have been anything. The next morning, I find you naked in the parking lot with a suspicious cut. It looks bad, but hey, it could have totally been a branch."
Mackenzie quickly stepped forward and shoved Sam up against a near by car, pinning him with her arm. "You don't think I know signs when I see them? Maybe I ain't the most qualified Auror, sure, I'm only a second year in university. I am near the top of my class however, Sampson. I did take an extensive course on magical creatures and how to find them."
She leaned in, fire in her eyes. "Don't. Try. And. Fuck. With. Me." She carefully enunciated each word, her voice calm but dangerous.
