Marney found herself blushing for what seemed like the hundredth time that night. This had to stop, it was starting to make her worry about her reputation. At the very least, she knew that Hunter and Mack would rail on her for it later on. And Leland would probably give himself a heart attack trying to figure out what Apple had said to make her flush so much. The nice words, the kiss on the cheek, it was like they were in some horrible teen movie and Marney couldn't get enough of it for some inexplicable reason.
"Nah, I won't bore you now with the horror stories of my childhood," she said shaking her head and laughing. "You're really sweet for asking though Ap, maybe we can go get coffee sometime and I'll tell you some?" She was breaking her second date rule, the one where she didn't make plans for another meet up during the first. It just lead to commitment and possibly heartbreak. "I'd wouldn't mind venting to someone not Leland or Ruby for once. They're such tightwads!"
"No offence, babe, but I wouldn't mind seeing the two of them win tonight," she said. "They deserve something nice I think." She leaned in and pecked Apple on the nose, "Not that I don't think you'd make an extremely handsome king, but I don't really want to have to share you with anyone else tonight!"
