Alex was actually pretty pleased with herself. She had initially been shocked by Gemma's decision to turn Charlie, but Gemma's decision was law and Alex saw no way to fight it. She knew that the older woman knew what was best, for Charlie and for all of them. It was, as she kept reminding herself, better than her being a mudblood. She was powerful now, something more, and a part of something important. Her head seemed clear of that stupid girl and her stupid friends, and Alex couldn't have been more happy about it. Charlie hadn't killed Jenny yet, despite Alex's constant insistence that the older girl would make a good snack, but Alex let it slide. She could wait it out, eventually Chuck would come around. She usually did.

She hadn't allowed herself to show any weakness in recent weeks. She had shed tears for her friend, a foreign emotion called guilt had been gnawing at her, but she had only let herself cry once. It was for the greater good. When Charlie had actually been going through the process of being changed, the image of it was stuck in Alex's head. There was a surprising amount of blood, and of screaming. It seemed to take an awfully long time. It was a drawn out and painful process, from what Gemma had told her plainly while they watched. But it would be worth it in the end. She allowed the blonde to feed on her, half because she felt responsible and half because it was her duty now. Charlie was her responsibility, Gemma had done this as a favor to her. Now she could have Charlie to herself, better than before, and forever.

Letting Chuck take some of her blood each day, however, was becoming tiring. They had gone through the whole song and dance with Sato, painted themselves as victims and promised that Charlie wouldn't hurt anyone, that she would feed on wildlife in the forest surrounding the campus. But that wasn't good enough, and they both knew it. Once she had started letting the blonde have a little fix, she needed to do it every day. Charlie got irritable without at least a little taste, and Charlie was drawing enough unwanted attention as it was, with her new bad attitude and penchant for fist fights in the last week or so. But humans, even great witches, only had so much to give. Alex was becoming weary, and she needed a solution.

Either a source of fresh blood from the campus hospital, which seemed hard. Or find someone that no one would miss, which seemed much easier and more fun. She could sneak in and grab a bunch of blood donation bags, or just let Chuck chow down on an unsuspecting wallflower, so the choice was obvious. Gemma would help them cover up whatever they had to, and she had already taught Alex quite a bit about being undetected. Gemma could visit her own crime scenes and walk away innocent. Dressed to the nines as she usually was for a dance, but especially the last dance of the year, Alex entered the dance on Charlie's arm. Trying to look as casual as possible even though her eyes were scrutinizing the crowd, searching their peers and their faces for the perfect meal for the girl at her side. "If you just ate that little brat like I told you, this would be done. How would you like to eat her ugly girlfriend or something? What about Sommer? She probably has enough blood in her fat head alone to feed you for ages, Charles."
