Though she would later be unable to figure out why she did it, Tatum acted without really thinking first. Everything that Mack said to her had been getting riled her up, making her cheeks keep flushing brightly, and even the way that the blonde chomped on her apple made the younger girl want to fume. She knew the other girl thought she was hot shit too, and it killed her that she agreed, and holding it in was getting harder and harder. It was easier to be straight up rude to the other girl, rather than risk getting close to her.

The blonde drove her crazy, in the best way possible, but giving in to that feeling wasn't an option. Not at school, not around people, not around anyone. But there wasn't anyone else around right then.

Reaching out without a word, the younger girl grabbed Mackenzie's arm as she began to walk away and pulled her back forcefully. She met eyes with the blonde girl for a split-second, struggling to think of something to say, but quickly giving up. Pushing the older girl back against the tree she had jumped out of, Tatum shoved herself against her, needing to stand practically on her tip-toes to crush her lips roughly against the blonde's.

She needed to put everything into the kiss, letting herself go for just a mere moment, and forgetting how miserable she felt. How miserable she felt being there, how miserable she felt because she couldn't have a good time. So much as she wanted it, this could never be how things were. Not so long as her father was around.
