It'd been several days since the apple orchard incident and Mack's mood hadn't improved one bit. She had gone to Hunter soon after she had gotten back, bursting through the taller girl's door and ranting angrily at her. That had been how she had spent the last couple of days, go to class, come back to her room and sulk, and then drop in on the taller girl to unload more of her anger. She could tell that Hunter was starting to tire of her constant rage towards stupid kids from Maine, but every time she thought about the whole situation she got angry all over again. It wasn't just the fact that Tatum was tugging her around either, it was the startling realization that she might actually feel something for the redhead. It scared the hell out of her, that once in her life she actually cared enough about something to be capable of losing it.

She had finally gotten tired of sulking around her dorm and decided to go find someone to distract her. She hoped that maybe she could knock herself out of this funk that the redhead had gotten her in. She was Mack Daddy for god sake, she shouldn't be hung up over some first year. So she set out to find herself a warm body for the evening, it didn't take long of course. She tried to ignore the fact that the girl was a redhead, that every time she glanced out of the corner of her eye she saw Tatum. It was unnerving to the blonde, and she had been close to calling the whole thing off, but she decided to continue with her endeavor. This was normalcy for her, and maybe if she continued on like nothing had ever happened with Tatum, things would continue on the way they were meant to be.

She brought the girl back to her dorm room, said all the right things to get her to blush and giggle. She pressed her up against the door and kissed her, just like she always did. It was like every other time she had brought someone home, and Mack couldn't help but compare it to the apple orchard incident. There was no pleasure for her in this anymore, everything had changed, whether she liked it or not. She only wanted to kiss one girl, only wanted to bring that girl home and that girl wanted nothing to do with her.

Mackenzie opened the door to her room, leading the girl in, although for the life of her she didn't know why she continued to pretend like everything was as it always was. She was about to press the girl against the other side of the door when Hunter spoke out.

"Fuck!" She gasped, spinning around quickly to see the giant lump of blankets that she assumed was the taller girl. She was about to yell at the other girl to get the fuck out of her room when the weight of what Hunter had said sunk in. She actually sounded upset, and there was no crude joke to follow. Turning to the redhead who's name she had already forgotten, she rubbed the back of her head sheepishly and told her it would have to wait till another time. She shooed the girl out of her room, promising to call her even though she knew she wouldn't. She was actually kind of relieved for once at Hunter's cock blocking skills, and joined the taller girl on the bed, shoving her over so she could share the blanket. She noticed that Hunter had buried herself in the sleeping bag and knew something bad must have happened.

"Why the fuck is your life over?" She asked, glancing sideways at Hunter. She hoped that her and Michi hadn't broken up, but she hadn't heard of any problems that could have merited that. "It better be fuckin' important if you're cock blocking." To anyone else it might have sounded rude, but that was jut how their relationship worked. Mackenzie couldn't express her concern though sappy gestures and words, and she knew that Hunter knew that.
