"Well, I ain't gunna ditch you neither! Yer just bein' stupid," Hunter scowled, crossing her arms over her chest and being careful of her injured thumb as she did so. Moving over to the small couch Mackenzie had abandoned in favor of the window, the taller blonde flopped down lazily and turned on her side to look closely at her friend as she spoke.

"Right, no way he'd tell a lie 'bout it.. wouldn't even be funny," she agreed quietly. There had definitely been times that Mack's dad had let them down in the past, especially since he had moved out, but she was definitely confident on this one. If Adam said they would go to Blue Ridge together, then they would go. She was sure that when the time came, everything would work out.

"Gunna be in Roanoke, right? Jus' like he said!"

Furrowing her eyebrows a bit at the suggestion of a pact, Hunter turned over on her back and stared up at the wooden ceiling. It didn't really match, stray boards nailed up to keep out leaks and cracks, and some posters taped up there as well. "This is a secret club, dipshit!" she informed Mack matter-of-factly. "That's why it's a secret club house?"

When Mack finally came out with the blood brothers idea, Hunter jolted up into more of a sitting position and less of a lounge. "Blood brothers? Like with.. real blood?" she asked, glancing down to her bandaid wrapped thumb. "Can't we jus' spit on our hands and rub it together, like the Simpsons?"
