Maddy's favorite holiday by far was New Year's. It wasn't so much the fresh possibilities and the new start. For Madelyn, it was looking back, the history of the year. She loved retrospectives, the moments in which people looked to all that occurred with either fondness or regret.
Her own year was filled with a mixture of good things and bad; she found more good in it than bad, but also quite a bit of peculiar.
She didn't focus much on her own retrospective while she dressed for Cinna's party. She chose a more modern look, a navy blue 1930's gown with era appropriate underthings and a silver fox stole. She coiffed her hair in delicate waves and used her best makeup for the occasion.
She had to take the floo to South Metro and take a cab to Cinnamyn's house, but she arrived in one piece and found a good spot in Cinna's house to arrange herself comfortably and wait for her friends to breeze by.
