Steven had been annoyed and not much surprised to see that he'd been beaten for first interview in Scheduling. Fortunately it had been Veronica Cantrell to make that first interview, so he could at least take comfort in the fact that if he had to be second, it was to someone worthy.

He waved idly at her as she left the interview, seemingly pleased with her outcome, and slunk into Dr Dawkins' office.
